The recipe I used: Enter into soapcalc.net for your size mold.
1.8:1 distilled water:lye ratio (I did about 40% frozen goat milk cubes in place of some of the water)
5% superfat
0% fragrance - I calculate this in eocalc.com instead to find safe usage rates
35% olive oil
32% coconut oil
10% shea butter
10% cocoa butter
8% avocado oil (or some other luxury oil such as hemp or sweet almond)
5% castor oil
Optional: 1 tsp sodium lactate / lb of oils to help harden bars
Botanicals/colorants: French pink clay, madder root powder, rosehip powder, and dried wild rose buds
I added in some colloidal oats and local honey as well.
Fragrance/essential oil blend: 50% palmarosa, 40% lavender, 10% geranium
Note: I make these videos for your entertainment (and my own!). Please make sure you understand safe handling concerning sodium hydroxide lye before attempting any soapmaking projects. @leeward4353 The cider is more for the fall catchy name and the sugar in it boosts lather. Not really for the scent ;)

    • @wildbackyardsoaps
      @wildbackyardsoaps 2 місяці тому

      @anitakusmulyana6566 Any kind of woodsy EO blend would work. Just be careful of safe usage rates - you can check eocalc.com to give you some ideas. I've made these in the past without juniper. Mostly used scotch pine and cedarwood with a bit of rosemary and balsam.

      @Kimsigns2 My preference is to wait a couple days before unmolding, but 1 day is fine. It's usually quite soft after unmolding so I tend to wait a couple extra days for it to start drying out and not be so tacky before I do the cutting.
