Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) were developed as a specific means to collect the necessary medical information required in the processing of Veterans disability claims. DBQs help physicians accurately and completely rate and record a veteran’s disability during an exam. This information helps a VA rater to determine your VA disability rating.

How can I get a nexus letter for secondary?
Depending on the condition, I may have recommendations in our network. Please message at laura@theveteran.coach and we could do a case review to see if a nexus letter is even necessary
How do I get it on my iPhone
It should be the same process on your iPhone; just start from your preferred search engine.
I submitted the request with the National Achieves. I received an email stating they didn’t have it and the request was forwarded to HQ Marine Corps Personnel Management Support Branch. This was 2 going on 3 months ago and still nothing…any additional information you could provide would be much appreciated.
Could you please tell me do all these include 90% but 100% P and T with IU?
Some of these benefits are available to any disabled veteran, while some benefits do require the 100% P&T distinction.

I wanna look into this. Been out since 96. Do I get anything???

Best of luck! Have your information handy and your phone on ring for a bit!
You need to go back and update your comments after reading the florida statutes for veterans. There were new laws which droppped the percentage in order to qualify for free hunting and fishing liceses.
It wasn't stated that all of these benefits are exclusively for 100% individuals, but they do all apply to 100% individuals. Many benefits like healthcare etc are available to all disabled veterans
I am a 100% P&T 72 year old Veteran and a resident of West Virginia and would review the benefits that West Virginia offers, my husband is also my ( just this month) desinated as my family care giver. I know this is a new program but does West Virginia offer a family care giver any benefits? Thank you very much, Lucinda Harden
I will add West Virginia to the short list!
This was very comprehensive. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Big deal get this every where
You unfortunately don't. Some states don't offer property tax exemptions, or tags etc for 100%.
Thank you for watching! 😊
Can you cover Arizona next 😅
Why would you completely lie about the exemption on the sales taxes on motor vehicles? Had me going to these places looking like a total crazy man.
I had a really bad HLR and denial of benefits. The representative even told me my cnp exam was incomplete but still denied me. Also, my ITF was ignored and they cheated me out of 1 year of back pay which just so happens to be the most owed. I HLR it and they denied it based off facts not associated with my claim 🤔😒 and I never spoke with anyone after requesting to speak with a representative.
Inwould recommend filing a supplemental claim, including a statement in support from yourself explaining the timienline and events. If you appeal your HLR with a supplemental within your 1 year, that original ITF date should still stand.
What about spouses that lost their husband's in FL and the state of Mo😊
0:17 I am currently working on my VA benefits but I haven’t filed yet because I have an OTH and was barred from my benefits until they changed the laws. I recently found out about this and could really use some assistance to get me through this process. My name is Christopher
Hey there! We could definitely take a look at your case and see what you may be entitled to. Email at laura@theveteran.coach
I feel R would apply to me , does the VA automatically give it to you ?❤
You have to apply for it specifically. Are you already rated at 100% P&T?

@@TheVeteranCoach hi coach , just received 100% P/T how do I go about getting SMC-R ?
I thought Tax exemption had no limit. I never saw that it was $50,000 limit if 100% P&T.
Florida is good if you have dependents going or soon will be going to college.
I got mine but need the updated one

Some are quicker than others! It can depend on when you served and if they have to be transferred to digital etc.
Sometimes when it comes to VSO's you would do better having scrambled eggs representing you. Sometimes it's just best to go to a local VA Law firm. Make it a local Law firm not these 1-800 or internet law firms. Some of these people who claim they are VA Representatives are representing you selling ink pens, cups, mugs, t-shirts and sweatshirts and chicken dinners don't get mixed up with that kind of foolishness. The reason I say get a local VA attorney if you can actually go to his office and plan strategy and build a rapport. All these guys online that are selling books and yo-yos and anything to make a buck don't fool with that foolishness. I did it this way the way I'm telling you and it worked out exceptional for me.
Many VSOs aren't worth their weight in salt, and sadly most attorneys only work with appeals, not new claims and are incentivised to drag out claims to maximize their own backpay potential. It makes many very limited on their expertise and areas they are able to assist in. I'm as local and home grown as they come! Veteran born, bred, owned and operated 🇺🇸 Welcome to the Channel!
@@TheVeteranCoach I agree with you 100% wholeheartedly. The attorney that I use that was local he did file a new claim for me one or two I can't remember which but having a local attorney that you can go to his office and discuss strategy and take him paperwork after your appointment with the VA or if you have a local doctor. This attorney was pretty much fair and straight up he didn't have his own doctors or trying to make you pay for Nexus letter that he can compose or have his people compose. Fairness and somebody who's really fighting for you teamwork.
I think we know what SMC is but do we have to apply in a way that differs from a standard claim request ? I am at 100% T&P. The meds I have to take cause ED and that falls under SMC-K. In my file is a letter from my cardiologist stating the meds she prescribed cause ED and my condition is static. A seperate claim for ED was filed and it is taking months. My VSO is no help ! On top of that, I have been turned down for the second time telling me my condition does not meet VA criteria. My sister provides transportation for medical appointments, groceries, misc needs. She cooks about 70% of my meals and helps me around the house. She does not live in my home and currently she does not help with bathing. She does however see that I have clean clothes and take my meds every day. How can this all be resolved ?
It depends on which SMC you're referring to. For ED, you file like a usual claim, regularly secondary to another service connected issue. It is always a 0% service connected rating, however, it is uniquely compensatable at 0%
Excellent information! Well explained as well. Go get your DD-214!
90% (or less) Service Connected get $5,000 tax exemption in Florida and 100% disabled vets are one hundred percent tax exempt
First off, I'm glad you're still here. ❤ I was in Saudi Arabia in the 90s, and I have recently been dealing with breast cancer. I'm in the process of filing for disability with the VA right now. If anyone is reading this and is a veteran, please review the benefits and see if the VA should be paying you disability. I found out too late that I could have been on 100% disability last year when I found out I had breast cancer.
Glad you are on track now to get the benefits you deserve! Praying for a speedy and comfortable recovery for you 🙏 If you need any advice along the way, please reach out laura@theveteran.coach

NPRC says they don't have my medical records, that the VA has them. Can I get them in person at the VA hospital that I use?
If you are close to a regional office, they may be able to provide them to you, but most local offices don't have the ability.

Many locations are being added over time, I hope they continue to grow and include more incidents like you pointed out

I’m a 100% P&T for COPD. I also have congestive heart failure and need to tie it into my COPD claim. Since my medication for the heart and COPD I’ve been having GIRD. The VA does medicates me for that, could that be secondary connection? Any help on this?
Hey there! If you are already 100% permanent and total, I only recommend filing for conditions that are deemed life threatening, as your family may be paid survivor benefits if you pass from a service connected condition. Otherwise, conditions like GERD may open up other claims for reevaluation or reduction if you are not permanent and total.
So you do have to be p&t to receive the education benefits for dependents? You can’t be 100% only?
Florida currency requires the P&T notation for Chapter 35 benefits, to ensure the eligibility isn't revoked
Please do other states like Wyoming etc. Thanks
Thank you fir this informative video...cheers
My pleasure!
I have about 4 or 5 pages of documented headache claims in my STRs, is that enough for direct connection or would secondary to tinnitus be the route to go?
If you have proof of migraines in-service, I would go the direct route as secondaries often require a medical nexus to link.
@TheVeteranCoach ok thanks you very much!! I appreciate the feedback...
would being on Mt St Helen's volcanic eruption site in 1980 immediately after the eruption and being in volcanic ash without any PPE, being exposed to toxic ash make you eligible for the Pact Act?
Have you participated in a registy exposure exam? That would be an excellent starting point to document your exposures during service, if yours isn't currently listed in the PACT Act updates ua-cam.com/video/98uo79D4a0o/v-deo.htmlsi=hX6jbDOLT7HCUJE7
Have to disagree with you about Florida being the most veteran friendly. South Carolina gives 100% disabled veterans tax exemption from TWO vehicles with no monetary limits. SC also gives 100% disabled veterans total tax exemption from a home.
