Mk5 GTI Ko4 install
Sorry for the delayed upload on this.
This is not a how to step by step but a documentation of my journey of doing a ko4 swap in my mk5 gti. I hope that it can help in some way with the issues I faced and give tips for you guys who plan on doing this.
Obviously to go stage 3 you need fuel injectors as well. Im having a tuning shop do them cause I don’t have the time. coming soon with revo stage 3 software.
Thanks

Sorry it’s been a long time since I posted a video. Thing to note is to keep the engine running when draining the excessive fluid. I forgot to mention that.

I also install the diesel geek super slider for more crisp side to side movements with the shifter. The kit: www.uspmotorsports.com/SPULEN-Quick-Change-Short-Shifter-Kit-6spd.html
GTI Radiator Replacement MK5

A guide to the steps needed to change a radiator in a MK5 GTI with the FSI engine BPY code. Not an exact step by step but made for those who already know the basics for working in these cars. I replaced it with and OEM radiator from ECS tuning. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

This job can be done without removing the front of the car at least on a right hand drive 2008 Golf GTI. The fans go out the bottom and the radiator comes out the top. The radiator does require a bit of careful manouvering to get it out the top but it is 100% doable.
great video. Thank you
Your the man
I purchased an 08' Rabbit for $1000 back in 2018. Some parts are easy to work on but I will tell you the anti-corrosion leaves a lot to be desired in the rust belt. So many fasteners break after years of Michigan winters
Grazie per il video😊😊😊

hey would you recommend the JOM coilovers?
Not the best but they got the job done. Plus I would not spend much on a car that’s worth not that much so I’d say I’d get them again for that car:
@@ajetauto5592 i have a 2012 2.5 vw bug would you recommend it ? same platform as the mk5 jetta.
My ‘09 2.5l MK5 has 136k miles. I don’t have money for another car. It never left me stranded. Even though I went underwater on repairs alone, I’ll fix it as long as I need to. Parts that have failed on mine: 2019: ABS module, VCG, & serpentine belt (dealer) 2020: Alternator (Indy shop) 2021: PCV diaphragm (Indy shop), oil cap gasket (DIY) 2022: vacuum pump delete kit (DIY), MAP sensor (Indy shop) 2023: belt tensioner (DIY) 2024: valve cover kit (DIY) All of these repairs have happened between 119k miles and 136k miles. At least once or twice a year, I need to fix something. The main problem with this car is oil leaks, but that’s not a big deal. The prices that the shop charge can be pretty expensive though. If I could do it all over again, I would DIY everything on the car, and service transmission every 64k km/40k miles. My transmission was never serviced until 120k miles, which was around the mileage when it started to shift rough. Six months later after I do a drain and fill, it started slipping anyway. I’ve been changing the oil every 4k miles or 5 months with 5W40 Leichtlauf High Tech Engine Oil (5 Liter) - Liqui Moly LM2332. Upcoming fix 2024: OFHG, intake gaskets (Indy shop) Preventative maintenance that I did: Evap purge valve, VVT, solenoid, cam sensor, TB gasket, vacuum hose, and fuel filter. I’m got my trans replacement out of at ‘09 Jetta 2.5l. Trans has less than 30k miles on it for $700. I’ll be doing a drain and fill every 40k miles with OEM Febi Bilstein G055025A2. Many use Valvoline- maxlife, but I feel comfortable sticking with OEM fluid.
Hi. Where I can get the intake air? amazon?
why did you remove the oil pump sprocket? Can it be done just removing the balance shaft sprocket?
Yes it can. Watch a video by decimal tenths on UA-cam. Shows you how to do it.
alternator isn't a pain if you take it out the bottom

What funnel did you use to fill it for the top
Easier to hook the cables up in the front first, then just move the levers in the back to get them on. Great video. Thank you.
Any engine vibration After this upgrade?
I just did this with my GTi this evening here. I got the same smoked black light as you did and I love how it blends in with my black car also. It feels so wrong and I doubt I would have had the courage to do it if I hadn't seen this video (and a few others too) but you really just have to go for it like you hate it lol. Thanks for the video cos I reckon I would have paid a lot to any garage I would have taken it to instead of just €45 for the light itself on eBay. Thanks man 👍
Where can i order the headlights
I am the 2nd owner of a 2008 jetta 2.5, 160,000 kms and was wonderng what are benefits of cold air intake? moar hp? how much would it cost? thx
For the grille did you end up using the original badge?
The 'duct tape' is a heat resistant wrap for the hot air from the vents, think to prevent weakening of the clips
‘07 owner with 250000 miles, my daily driver. Solid car - no goofy mods done. I’ve done all of my own routine maintenance. Very easy to work on.

hey man i have the exact same mods done to mine, and the oil filter housing breather tube on mine is broken. i have no intention of taking the intake manifold as my engine has 270k miles on it. any way you can share on how you did it without removing it?
Is there anything wrong with using a full synthetic GF6A motor oil instead of the VW 504 to 508.00 spec oil that's so hard to find Espically if you change it every 3k
officially you change dsg gearbox oil every 40,000 miles. that by vw. and need to use the right oil otherwise it will fuck it up.
You appear to be talking about engine oil. This is a gearbox oil change. Use that oil and you'll destroy your gearbox!
Love the pause to hear the Corvette, I would have done the same thing lol
Did you add fog lights, also if you did how?
WOULDOF BEEN NICE TO KNOW THERES A HOLE TO GET TO THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR MOTOR MOUNT BOLT IN THE SIDE OF THE TIRE WELL BEHIND PLASTIC
That's why we're watching the video 😂
Which Gti car years do not use a cam follower? I need to know it’s important 😢
Any fsi motor. Generally 2006 & 2007. 08 was the tfsi which you don’t really have worry about it. I hope this helps for u
@@MrSunnybrarso did that version use a cam follower that gets messed up too fast?
Majority of the cars did have this issue. Some started using rollers instead of cam followers. Which never had issue. In my opinion if the car is modified and you have a hpfp I suggest to replace it every 15k to 20k. Speaking from experience I had two incidents and now I change it every 2 years without a doubt. Once the coating wears off, it is very likely that it may surprise you very soon. Yes it is pain in the ass. You will save yourself lot of hassles.

Great video thanks
Great video ! Could you let know the diameter of the tubing that you inserted into the filter housing to drain the oil without spilling?
I used what I had and it wasn’t a perfect fit. Mine was slightly loose. I’m sorry I don’t know the size I had. Some hoses come with a cap that actually fits inside the nipple. That’s what I use now on my Audi S3.
@@ajetauto5592 Thanks for letting me know. Could you share the spec of the hose/funnel you use for your Audi S3? I presume the DSG Oil filters housing would be pretty much the same on a Golf and Audi ?
