Today I finally clean up my nasty interior on my turbo Miata project. I haven’t worked on the car all winter since it was raining alot and cold. My old car cover had gotten a rip in it and water had made it into the interior and caused mold to grow.
First I went and removed all the trash and vacuumed the carpet. Next I sprayed the carpet with a 50/50 mix of vinegar and hot water to kill any mold. I then did stain removal with P&S Carpet Bomber and extracted it with my wet vacuum. Then I removed interior panels so I could cleaned them to make sure all the mold was gone. Lastly I protected the carpet with hydrophobic protection and the panels with panels with Aerospace 303.
The interior came out awesome and feels amazing now that its clean and free of mold.
