This is a day tutorial on making a wood sign for a door specific to a school notebook design.
Materials Used
Door sign blank - Hobby Lobby carries these in pack of 6
Paint - any craft store
Paint brushes - any craft store
1 inch scotch tape (optional painters tape for distressing)
A tape cutter - I used a rotary cutter and a self healing mat
Greenery or Flowers for topper - any craft store (I used Michaels)
Staple Gun - Amazon or craft store
Wood Scrap - home depot scrap - ask about the free section
Floral Wire Cutter - Any craft store
Twine - any craft store
A ruler - any craft store
A wreath hanger - any craft store
Ribbon - wired and non wired - wired gives it shape - Any craft store
A drill to make holes and use a staple gun (I use Royobi tools)
To make the lettering, use a stencil or a cutting machine or a laser (I used my Glowforge)

Yes way better. Wooden clothespins struggle holding bulky fabric.

How did you get your design printed onto the fabric?
@@MsYolib i used the sublimation process which is printing with a sublimation machine and pressing with a heatpress onto polyester fabric.

@@jeanninejohnson1861 I bought that maybe 10 years ago off Amazon. You had to put each sticker on each key. Lots of work but came out beautiful. They stopped selling it 😭. I searched Amazon for keyboard skin stickers but see vendors mostly do the keyboard covers now. I’m so sad. The covers are easier but the stickers are more beautiful. I get so many compliments on that keyboard. I need a few keys replaced. Wondering if I can redesign it 🧐

Different places. My Punkbroidery is a favorite. I also get from Hibbt Lobby, Joann’s and occasionally Facebook fabric groups.

Arika how long does this bag normally take you? Also I wonder would a heavy magnet be helpful for the lining underneath
I’ve been doing bags for a couple of years. This particular bag probably takes me 15-20 minutes off camera. It’s super quick if you have your pieces prepared. As far as the magnet, not sure about that. It would need to be a flat magnet so it wouldn’t hit the arm.

So if I’m doing hip bag as you did with black plastic clips sewn ITH, I could make same long strap + attach to black plastic hooks already sewn in instead of your swivel hooks?

I apologize that I’m just seeing this. I actually order mine from Alibaba. If ordering one or just a couple, Amazon might be your best bet. I have them and will load them to my site this weekend.
