Hi. Thanks for visiting my channel. I'm a PhD student studying public policy. On this channel, I'm sharing things I've learned along the way.
FASTER WAYS TO WRITE A PAPER
Whether you have a paper due tomorrow or in five weeks, this video will help you get it done faster AND with less stress. I have done a lot of googling looking for paper-writing workflows. There's not a lot out there. So I had to come up with my own method. Sit back and get ready to learn how to write a paper... fast.
There are two methods here. One is for getting it done in five days (recommended). But there are also some good tips if you have a paper due tomorrow. Here are the timestamps.
METHOD ONE (Write a Paper in Five Days)
Day 1 - 1:30
Day 2 - 2:59
Day 3 - 4:19
Day 4 - 4:56
Day 5 - 5:47
METHOD TWO: (Write a Paper by Tomorrow)

STOP USING WORD: Try these writing apps instead
Переглядів 11 тис.4 роки тому
Stop using Microsoft Word. I have spent too much of my life not knowing about Scrivener and Ulysses. These are two great writing applications for keeping you organized and focused on your writing. In the end, I decided against Ulysess and for Scrivener. And after about a year of use, I am loving it. It saves me so much time trying to organize mountains of ideas and research. But they are both w...

Is this the best PDF reader for Mac? Guys. I wasted way too much time not using this. As a college student, you will deal with a lot of PDFs. Check out why I love Acrobat so much. Skip about two meals a month from Chipotle and it can be all yours. *I know for millennials giving up Chipotle might be a big ask. But it’s worth it. WHAT IS PUBLIC POLICY IN SIMPLE TERMS
Переглядів 24 тис.5 років тому
WHAT IS PUBLIC POLICY IN SIMPLE TERMS I asked my Mom to define public policy. Here's what she said. As you may know, my PhD is going to be in public policy. Well, enough people have asked me what public policy is that I thought it would be worthwhile to provide a quick explanation. Also, thanks so much to Zack, Bekah, Catie, and my Mom for being willing to get on camera and answer questions whe...
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU! Such great information with skill, knowledge and simplicity. We need him teaching, teachers!
fuck Adobe
This is a lifesaving video, thank you
I just subscribed to your videos. I havent been in school let alone an online class in almost 20 years. My MA online class starts next week and needed these pointers to get a good start.
Hello, I hope you are doing okay.Am glad that you have liked the video. Am also glad that you are back in class and I wish you all the best in your studies. I am an expert in college writing and I help students with strategies of writing any college paper. If you want or may need my help in the future, you can reach me out through the info on my channel for more inquires. Thank you.
This video was full of information that I definitely needed to hear.
Don't know that this would work for Law School...
good basic info. i will use at some point, i'm sure. thanks
I am grateful for this information because I am sure I am overthinking this is everyway. I am freaking out! Thank you for this!!
Thank you for this and the gold for me, " Don't overthink it". I tend to think my discussion posts have to be perfect, and then realize that I am just a student. Follow the rubric , proper citations format and grammar, got it.
As a professor, I read everything the students write! It is the ethical thing to do...
In preparation for my graduate thesis paper, I am writing bullet points and outlines at night that guide my work for the following day. It helps me to clear my head, and gives me peace of mind before going to sleep. Unless I stare at it too hard...then I start working again. Hey, I'm not perfect.
Thanks for sharing Royce.
I really hate these lol, but unfortunately it needs to be done
I'm in an online master's program and students just take my whole post and basically repost it back as a response with a comment here and there - YIKES
Actually I applied to masters in Public Policy (because I'm interested in economics qnd law) and Cybersecurity (because I'm also interested in computer science and security stuff). Have no idea what to choose at the end :/
Lol dame 😢 I took a class about political science and it was just too much history and economics so now I think about public policy lol but I also like communication as well as marketing lollllll
hey man I got my midterm in 10
PP program
Thank you for the advice it makes sense not doing this type of information is foolish as a opinion.again thanks for your honest
my online professor actually linked this video to us
Wish I had watched this videos 5 days ago, now I get what they mean by cutting things up into manageable pieces. Researching has always overwhelmed me. Once you're an expert in something though the writing itself comes easy. Great video though, Zotero looks like an amazing tool. Procrastination is a whole other issue I need to work on... 😅
Time stamps 1:30 day 1: review and read 2:56 day 2: research 4:18 day 3: read and take notes 4:55 day 4: organize research 5:47 day 5: get writing
Instuctions unclear…im on day five.
That very helpful and this will help greatly on my studies.
And it wont help you in life.
Awesome video the problem I am having with blackboard is they tell you to review the video on how to use and how you can air drop your discussion responses from word or copy paste and most of my stuff is in apa style but when i copy paste it is not in apa style it drives me crazy i spend hours trying to fix it and at the end it does not work out any help?
Dhalsim is studying public policy when he’s not street fighting?!?
I have a paper due in 5 days!
Thank you for this informative video. I will begin my first master level courses this fall. I am very excited, but also nervous. Your video helped ease my nerves a bit!
Same here. Best wishes to both of us. 🙏🏿📚🎓
Awesome video, thanks for the tips regarding discussion replies 👍
Thank you for this! This video was actually listed in the learning materials for my first week of class. If others find it helpful, here are the notes I've taken on this video! - The first thing you should do is review your course material. If you can’t find anything there - - Read any materials your professor has provided at the beginning of class. - Look for contact information and preferred contact methods/times. - Check out your school policies. There may be guidelines for required timelines that online professors have to respond to student communications. If you have a professor who is chronically slow at responding, and it causes you to be late on your assignments, you may want to escalate the issue to the higher ups. - Write your email: o Add your class designator, quarter/term, and week in the subject line along with the actual subject. o Keep it short and to the point. Communicate the necessary details, then ask the question. o Example email: (Here I inserted a screenshot of the example email in the video) o Check their title. If you don’t know it, call them Professor [Name]. o Be honest and realistic.
Thank you extremely helpful! I wish i would have saw this tip before I reached out to my professor.
definitely going to save this video. thanks for the example
Very helpful! Thank you. New Grad student, haven’t been in school for 25 yrs. Online learning is all new & this really helped.
Hello, I hope you are doing okay? Am glad that you have liked the video because it provides useful information. Am an expert in college writing and especially online classes. I have verse experience in writing any type of college papers. If you need help anytime, you can save the info on my channel and reach me out anytime you need help. Thank you and I wish you all the best in your studies.
Amazing tips! Thank you for your insight.
Good video but the top of your head is cut off. We need to see your whole head
This is really good.
This introduction to on-line student.
I loved my math professor. I told her that at grade school I NEVER learned percentages and fractions. she gave me a helpful tutorial and I got an A at the test after. loved her, wish she was my teacher for everything
thank you! this was super helpful!
Great video not just for online classes, but for those classes where students sit like Easter Island statues, hoping they won't get called on. Also, in a classroom, those students who like to talk can take over a discussion; introverts (like me) find it exhausting to try to add their thoughts. They're much more likely to contribute to an online discussion where they have time to consider their responses.
One of the craziest things I've encountered in a discussion board post was someone responding to a post and asking me how old I was. She then proceeded to answer my post as if I was "too young to understand." Turns out, she's 54 and I am turning 56. If she thought I was a "yung'in" she was sadly mistaken.
Super helpful. Thanks!
I've had to do them as a student - and I've assigned them as a professor. I find value in both experiences. I suppose if you have an instructor who gives way too many assignments - the discussion board may be overboard! It's important to hear from varied lenses on topics. Learning should be more than just checking boxes - but - it has become that in many ways. And yes - you can tell which students have original thoughts and have interesting perspectives on the material -- and which students haven't read much of anything and are simple in thought on the topic. I teach Biology - the discussion board is where I can bring "real life" into the chapter topics -- such as looking into HeLa cells and The Right to Try per medical treatments...topics interesting to students but not necessarily mentioned (at least in detail) in a textbook. Annnnnyway...
1000 pages of plato? Ya'll are gladiators of the mind.
hello this is my first time to discussion and the professor ask for apa style but i dont no how to do it the discussion is about questions and the answer from my textbook
I dislike DB posts, my classmates did not respond to my posts. I still do not know what I am doing but managed to pass the class with an A.
'Stop writing bad. Write better now.' At first I thought you wrote those mistakes on purpose to make a point but you didn't. I suggest you clean up your own writing before giving advice to others.
Poof! Mind blown!! I haven't been in college for 2 decades and decided to jump in feet first by learning fully online This could have something to do with the reason I have never ever ever heard of a google scholar!!! I admit I am one of the literally few millennials who is technically uninclined and, (ik itscompletely off topic), I don't think anyone who is currently over 30 (almost37) should have to bare that label/classification. BUT back to topic, there were i think 3 points maybe2 that will be a major help to probably every assignment I will have this year. Help me bring this 3.44 to over a 3.5!!!
God bless you for creating these videos.
Someone wrote that they thought serial killers were a myth and that stalking is just people being whiny.
Writing a paper is harder when it's not an "assignment" and hence the goal is unclear, especially if you DON'T want to include some main conclusion that is being saved for a broader paper, and the current paper is 'just' a foundation stepping stone. Any tips for that?
