Reloading primers, does it work?
Please take this as educational, I in no way recommend using this method for every day ammunition. Don't assume it's going to work, and don't stake your life on it. And remember to wear safety glasses if you attempt this process, we're using explosive material after all.

Blackening Steel with Heat and Motor Oil

Having a go at blackening steel with Motor oil as an alternative to bluing. This method is relatively easy and fast, but I'm not sure how long it will last.

Glock factory rear sight mod, that's not permanent but better than the Sharpie or Whiteboard marker.

How to modify your shotgun for 3 Gun
This is disgusting I love it
Haha, thanks!
My autodrum only leaks with really fine grain like H110. I use a similar cup to catch it.
Does this work on stainless steel?
Que sencillamente se soluciona un problema. Gracias How eassily is solved a problem thanks
Any chance of getting a parts list?
Most of the components were custom fabricated from easy to find parts, let over bits etc... part of makes the project individual. I have a bunch of videos that show progress as well as another project that might help.
What's going to keep the stuff in the primer? Soon as you pick it up the stuff will start falling out.
Compressing it into the primer cup seems to hold it in place. Seems to consolidate ok.
The LEE Die Lock ring rubber washer placed inside the Auto Drum body fix the leakage problem for me. My Auto Drum came well polished from the factory and it was still leaking CFE223 and A1680. The rubber washer took care of the problem. Its Magic! :)
That's Nice!
Thanks. That really worked for me and was very easy to do.
Genius
Glad I could help
Dude are we listening to you or your thoughts????
Wow, this looks just like the quenching process they do on the Forged in Fire show.... Never knew this existed outside of the show.
That guy should wake up before he tries to make a video..
I knew I wouldn't be the only one experiencing this issue. Recently purchased the new Lee 6000 pro progressive press and the kit comes with this same relatively new powder drum (I had the old drum with auto disk kit). Been reloading 9mm and the Accurate #5 powder has been leaking out pretty bad. I'll give this a try. Thanks!
Looks awesome! Very well done. It is not the way I like my coffee, so to say. I just like to keep my SKS as is. However, to each their own, awesome work. That is a beautiful rifle and you did an awesome job on the conversion.
Thank you for the feedback.
Pretty cool! I tend to like using the caps that have a disc come out as a whole verses the powder. But hey! It'll work in a pinch right?
Yeah they'd be preferable, but unavailable in my country unfortunately.
10-15-2022 ****AWESOME*****
Thanks so much Great fix. With the leaking problem cured the lee drum is a very good powder measure..
great work, but will the blackened steel be easily scratched off?
It lasted quite well, alot better than paint. I think if it was sandblasted first it would be better because the oil would hold on better
@@hardcase999 thanks, would the steel need be heated to red hot or just very hot for the process to work?
Needs to be cherry red at least for the oil to burn.
Amazing rifle
holly cow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanx!!! my cfe223 was making a mess! thank you!!
dude you need to enunciate your words, it's next to impossible to understand you, you sound like the teacher from the Charlie Brown movies, wah wah wah
Thanks for your advice.
Pretty rude His dialect is just that He showed you what to do
Wow, this man showed you something to help make your life better and that’s how you thank him. What an asshole.
with 50 rounds I lose about 1ounce of powder with this charger. joke.
Ahh Hell no you’re not allowed to have a loud ass intro, & then your voice barely be heard, you need a warning before the vid lol. I had my headphones in. Anyways it was a good video thank you
Looks better than the factory made bullpup SKS in the market
Thank you for your kind words
Ask for an I'd
I'm sorry, I don't understand what you are asking.
What press are you using with the auto-drum?
Lee pro 1000
Thanks for the positive influence man. Just finished my sks bullpup build and very satisfied with the challenge and ultimate results.
and then you fucked it up, disgusting looking
How so?
@@hardcase999 the design was beautiful in woodgrain but the black just made it featureless and frankly fugly. In black it looks like something a five year old would do.
@@jussayinmipeece1069 I personally liked it in black. Not much of a woodgrain guy myself. That's my opinion though and I try not to offend people just because I see things differently. If it makes you feel better, the NZ government confiscated these and other semi auto centrefire rifles last year, so its probably crushed and melted down by now. Thank you for your constructive criticism anyway, and have a good day.
@@hardcase999 no my friend it does not make me feel better at all . Why would you say such abthing . Its your creation and what you like . ? I cannot determine your prefence but iam sorry to hear that.
I'm having a problem with alot of H110 leaking out thank you
I hope this helps. I also noticed that if moisture gets into the powder, it can gum up the wiper inside and damage it. A wiper is a cheap part to replace if you need to.
Thanks. Every tweek helps when it comes to Lee stuff. What I'd like to know is how you got the case feeder to work on 5.56.
Man this was a great build. Can we talk.
Sure, what would yo like to know?
@@hardcase999 can you write build plan. Would love to try 😋 thanks
@@charlesbradley423 sorry, i no longer have this rifle. They have since been banned in New Zealand. Best I can suggest is watching the full series. Hope that helps, feel free to ask questions along the way
@@hardcase999 thank you!
чумовой мужик!!!
SUPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you. Great bit of advice. Very happy with the metering of the auto drum, but was getting a lot of leakage from the fine powders.
I polished the inside of mine with #0000 steel wool. It stopped leaking, and functions much more smoothly. I found your video just minutes after uploading mine. Between the two methods, people should be able to sort out their leakage issues.
Awesome man looks like a fellow sooner local ,great content great channel

Top Idea and fix... This solved my leaking totaly... Thank you...

This was incredibly hard to watch
I'm sorry I didn't live up to your expectations, how can i improve?

извините, у меня больше нет винтовки. Это было бы хорошей идеей, спасибо за отзыв
Bruh thank you mine came out east and damn way easier to shoot
Glad it worked out for you.
And what tri rail over the gas piston
I got it off Alibaba, not bad for Chinese. Worked well on my budget build.
What brand or style crossbow did you use
Just a cheap one from a sporting goods store. Not sure of brand.
Exept the maintrigger as it is opened without any housing, I find this a very nice build! Mentioned trigger seems quite a bit unsafe, since you could release it by touching it accidentialy, I think
That's a fair observation, although it is protected by the guard. Good saftey discipline should mitigate any accidents., although not 100%
See why guns and alcohol don't mix!
