Mrs Ben does Drag Racing?
We had the pleasure of going to the Street Outlaws No Prep Kings races at the Virginia Motorsports Park in Petersburg Va.
The Mrs had an opportunity to compete in the “Daily Driver” races thanks to some competitors no-showing. 16 drivers raced for a $500 pot.
The Mrs daily driver is a bone stock 2021 Dodge Durango Hellcat that comes factory with 710 HP.
She made it all the way to the Final 4 before being beat by a supped up Jeep Track Hawk. Not too bad considering this was her FIRST TIME EVER drag racing.
Thank you to the Street Outlaws and Virginia Motorsports Park for putting on this event. We will see you next year!
Below is the link to the full day of racing

I own a 202r Tradesman with the power wagon group. Good truck. Fuel economy is horrible. Having the option of 3.73s would help and if the transmission would be more aggressive when up shifting to get back down under 2000 rpms when not towing would help too. I'm not crazy about the trailer/towing mirrors. It's very difficult to judge distance to vehicles alongside you. I really dislike the cornering lights and so do my neighbors. Coming home at night the lights would blast directly into their kitchen. Disabled with a couple pieces of black duct tape. I use fogs maybe once every two years, so no major loss. The cornering lights were more distracting than helpful to me. Glad they're gone. Radio has been fine, tho' I don't want Android Aito to connect every time - must have missed a setting. The brakes leave a bit to be desired. They're essentially the same front brakes as the 1500 but are asked to slow down an extra 2000#. Maybe some grippier pads are in my future. Step bars are a big help. Other than those issues, it's been a good truck. Very capable off road and in the snow. Remember, you didn't buy it for good gas mileage. I've had a low pitched whistle in the dash wince it was new. Not coming from the hvac.

Thanks for the idea for the foam you used. I was going to get rockwool, but I think it is overkill for what I need, and price is high. This stuff should knock some of the noise down and is about 1/3 the price. Also for the fan, saw another user put a larger 18" shop fan in there on the left where you have the small red one and he said it helped get airflow over the entire generator since he had the intake vent low left and attic fan high right (like almost everyone does). I may try it as well and see if I can get some temps off the generator and see if it is any better.

I bought a 2024 PW with most options. No fifth wheel. No Rambox. I’ve had it for 6 months. The best fuel economy I got was 20mpg. Usual mileage is 15-16 mpg. I love my truck. I’ve wheeled it up to the top of Lead Queen mountain in BC. Pulled a tandem covered trailer with four Honda GoldWings. Pulled it like a charm. It is an awesome truck. Most of us woodworkers have had a moment or two like that. Mine was with a router table and a large flush cutter, attempting to transfer a templated shape onto some hardwood which I had roughed out on the bandsaw. I had left too much material to remove and for a split second must have gone against the direction of the cutter when going around the curve. The workpiece was ripped from hands and ended up on the other side of the workshop. I think, like you, it was my first time using the thing! I was uninjured and it was a valuable lesson. Over a decade of woodwork down the line I still have the router table, but also a couple of spindle moulders (shapers,) I'm glad that the lesson was learned on the router table! I'm glad that you now have your own thicknesser, and that the incident didn't put you off! I'm sure you will get some great projects done with it 😊

That's an extremely dangerous setup. With all that flammable foam insulation. I built a generator shed out of solid concrete but the only thing I couldn't build out of steel and concrete was the door. I had a exhaust system with a 2 inch iron pipe through the cement wall that would make up with the exhaust port on the generator. Well this ran fine from 2011 to December 31st 2023. And then on New Year's Eve 2023 the exhaust must not have been perfectly lined up with the fort in the wall because hot Vapors ignited the door frame and cause the fire. This inside of a concrete strull with 1,000 cubic feet per minute industrial fans pulling air in and exhausting air out the other side so the generator is in the cross wind of the fans. The Saving Grace was that the intake fan was a slightly higher capacity than the exhaust fan so the air pressure in the room was higher and kept the Flames away from the generator itself. And the irony is I had run this thing in 95° heat in August without a fire. It was 34° and raining the night of the fire. I've since replaced that generator with a military MEP 803a diesel generator.

From what I understand, if your generator has a floating neutral for running the house, if you decide to use it for direct applications the ground wire connection does not all of sudden make it bonded. You need to connect the neutral and ground directly in the generator again. It needs a jumper wire.

I don't know about your particular generator but my Duromax manual says to keep it a minimum of 20 ft from the home when in use.

I have the same generator. From my research on this generator, I believe the 20 foot recommendation is to keep the noise level down in the house.
