Challenge 2-9 completed in 3 turns. This is an improvement over the previous record, which finished the level in 4 turns. The total number of turns for the main game challenge levels is now 99.
Due to its lack of enemies, this level has made it very difficult to save turns on. No enemies means no Super Effects from either heroes or enemies. There are Super Effect cover blocks, but they aren't placed in usable spots to launch Toad further into the level. All hope was lost for years until natnew discovered a trick that allows for Chain Chomps to knock heroes away with Strike. If two heroes are placed next to each other and are not leaning against cover, the Chain Chomp will run into them if he approaches them directly from their longer side.

Luigi - His team jump and ground movement allow him to reach his first and second turn positions easily.
Notes:
-Unless a new technique is discovered, I don't think it's possible to clear this level in 2 turns. We have to wait until turn 2 to launch Toad to the high ground since the Chain Chomp doesn't start in a good position to do that. I also don't think I can setup any Strike launches that can pass through the final gap if there was a way to set up multiple Strikes on turn 2.
-Rabbid Peach moves to avoid standing next to the Burn cover block. Chain Chomps can trigger those cover blocks with their attack.
