Howdy, my name is Caroline Henderson! I am an up and comer FPO player from north Texas. I love all kinds doggies and throwing discs whether it’s competitive or just for fun. Follow me on my disc golf journey!
Backhand Practice | Caroline Henderson
After wrapping up the Jonesboro Open, I headed back to good ol' Texas, feeling like I needed to work on some basic stuff. Out of the blue, I got a message from the awesome Chris Taylor, a total disc golf guru. He totally gained my trust right away and promised to help me iron out a few of the problems I'd been struggling with. Now that I've been back home and had the time to really focus and practice, I can honestly say I've made some serious progress. I'm stoked to compete in the Dynamic Disc Open in Emporia and show off how far I've come!

Awesome explanation - good sports tips. I am going to try it now 😃
I'm curious as to why nobody throws overhànd because I have always found throwing overhand makes my throw more accurate and more powerful. But yet I don't see anybody using that throw
Caroline, thank you so much for this video. I have never seen anyone demonstrate the backhand with a more perfect explanation, and this was the video that my form problems clicked into place for me. Nobody shows just how wide you need your hips, or holding out the disc like that. They’re huge game changers.
Sweet....I've been supporting Prodigy For the Last Few Years.... X3 400G are Money D3 D4 are Money ....find you some D3 D4 Air for those special occasions
Leave asap!!
What Happened to her, she pass?
Horseshoes and hand grenades.
So What Happened To You? I saw you at your first tour event and said i like your game, then you basically disappeared from the tour scene? You got game but it takes A Deep Amount of Confidence Babe to Execute in Comp 🤔
Best video ever🙌
This video literally got my forehand from 250ft to 350ft in two days. Thanks for the great explanation, so much better than any forehand video I have seen.
Thank you for this video. I hope you keep making more 😊
Nice shot
I needed this breakdown so bad lol Thankyou so much for making this; ive watched dozens and dozens of videos on improving my forehands but none of them covered the complete movement like you have. Cant wait to get down to the course and practice!
Caroline where are you?
Her PDGA number isn't even active
Yo, why did you stop making videos?
This might be the best one I've seen yet. It seems all the baseball/softball players translate to flicks perfectly
Noice
I hate to be this guy…. But I really like your vans
But yet she stopped playing
Great video, but even after following your advice religiously, I still can't rid of that darn wobble.
💯💰 As a new player , your instruction and drills are exactly what I need. I'm also On a journey😊 Looking forward to supporting you this year. Thank you so much for what you're doing for the sport.
Unfortunately she might be retiring already. Had one of the most devastating injuries and had to go to the ER. She’s already out the first 8-10 weeks of the season but it was a spine/vertebrae injury. That’s usually a game over injury for professional sports players.
You guys would make nice babies
Thanks for lots og hjelp❤️ boy 35. Y norway.
Hi Caroline, Like the way you describe practicing the form. Nice and simple, easy to follow instructions. Will keep an eye out for more great videos. Wish you all the best on your journey in disc golf. Thanks
This is so helpful. I’m so glad there’s women explaining form! It matters! Plus this is so in-depth. Thank you so much for doing this! 🤍 I can’t wait to try this
Anyone know what happened to😅 Caroline?
I'm searching. Still can't find anything. Pdga membership expired and she had just signed a 3 year contract. Pregnant maybe?
Enjoying the Drills and learning segments. Noticing to keep arm on plane, needing more back turn to keep arm in the pocket. Looking forward to future videos and thankyou.
That was very informative thanks
Wow, that's one of the best instructional videos I've seen! Thank you, and best of luck in all you do. Thanks for sharing.
This is one of the best forehand videos on UA-cam. Particularly the footwork here is on point.
That is 🥜
Are they unironically doing this? I thought it was a bit. 😂
Need more form stuff by women. I play every round with my girlfriend and she has been struggling a lot with the backhand throw. I think seeing and hearing mechanics from females is mandatory. They have different body geometry from men and new female players need peer instruction in order to build pattern recognition and the correct mental framework for their throw/game.
I feel the Nuke ❤. No disc compares to my beat in big z nuke!
Great job explaining. Hope you post the follow up video that you mentioned soon. You're a very good teacher.
Y'all need to each give her a dollar!!!😮
That was not perfect! it was a nice throw but It was short. Someone flirting👍😁
I’ve never had a problem with forehand, until I try to add power and this video has made the most sense to me. Immediately need to try this in the field.
Ladies are infinitely better at explaining things than men. Thank you. There were so many little technique questions I had that I could not find in other videos and you went through them all.
This is a decent tutorial but it leaves out some pretty important aspects of the the sidearm throw. Most importantly, no mention is made of the difference in the wrist action from a backhand to a forehand. In backhand you pretty much have a passive wrist, for forehand you have to consciously cock your wrist back (or pre-load the wrist cock at the beginning). Most of your power is coming from the wrist snap. Her demonstration of Ricky Wysocki curling his wrist all the way around is bad advice. If you try to do this, you will be consistently throwing the disc left and into the ground (for a right-handed thrower). Near the end when she demonstrates pointing at the target you can see she pretty much stops her wrist from curling all the way around. You want your fingers pointing at your target when you release the disc. If you want something with more detail and nuance, especially with how the run-up and bracing changes for different shot types/distances, watch Eagle McMahon's forehand tutorial. A good instructor for power forehands is Ryan Sheldon.
Hogan makes MY day better.
Gorgeous!!❤
Cute
If I wasn’t a guy I would pay more attention, so darn cute!!!!
Love the woods at Trinity! such a great course.
Where'd you go?
Well done great video
Thoroughly enjoyed this! Youre onne of my fav female tourers for sure!
