I'm going to buy Annie's book from Amazon because I've always believed that I would see a nuclear weapon used in my lifetime. I started Kindergarten in 1955 (my wife of 54 years was in the same class) so I remember the "Duck and Cover" drills in elementary school. The subject of nuclear war frightens and fascinates me at the same time. I live roughly 20 air miles from a nuclear power plant (Susquehanna SES) in Pennsylvania and as I come up over a little rise right close to the house I have a clear unobstructed view of the cooling towers. I've wondered and looked into what we could expect from two air burst nuclear weapons going off over the plant. The thought has entered my mind to drive into town (Berwick, PA) which is within a 4 or 5 miles radius of the plant if things go south and the sirens start blaring just to be sure of a quick end. Dear God, we live in such a mad MAD world!
