With 12 months between WIP Parades I have been very busy. This is the first in a series of short journals of the things that have kept me away from flosstube. In October 2023 I attended the Stitching in the Mountains retreat in Blackheath NSW.

Loop start and Loop finish for cross stitch
Muchísimas gracias!. Conocía el inicio con bucle, pero ignoraba que se podía rematar con él, me ha encantado, ademas, lo explicas muy bien y se ven claramente las puntadas, gracias de nuevo. Me suscribo.
Lovely video! Can’t wait to see your progress on your Christmas projects. They are looking really beautiful! I just joined Wip warriors so I’m excited to try the challenges and I’ve ordered the diary too. Happy stitching 😊
Good to see you again! Thanks for sharing your stitchy goodness again. Happy stitching!
Thanks Emily!

This is the second time I’ve watched this video and enjoyed seeing again your stitching and listening to your peaceful voice as I stitched on my own project this evening….thank you
Wonderful video Natalie! Thanks for sharing, I’ve leant something new today!
@@doreenwalton6464 thanks Doreen
So good to see you! And I am glad you’re doing fine and that you had had lots of activities. Your saga progress is impressive and yes, it does look like lace, which is a very pretty and delicate look. See you in the next one, friend.❤
Your work is beautiful, and you’re like balm for the spirit. Thank you and all the best with your lovely stitches.

New finish for me, never saw a loop finish.
Great to see the location and surrounds for those "weekend ruining" EV road trips! Thanks we're on our first trip this weekend 😊
It's a great little stop. It's a shame there aren't more Superchargers IN Sydney, but this one is really handy for the 'getaway'! I hope you enjoyed your first roadtrip?
@@NittynatStitches couldn't have gone smoother! Thank you
I only do the printed cross stitch on 11 count aida 14 count to fine for my eyes wud like to knw more on starting and finishing wth 3 strands of floss ...
The loop start works for any number of threads and will totally work for three! I'm thinking of starting a new start which will have me stitching with a single thread, and I will use the loop start for that.
Very nice wips. I like the variety that you work on. The Muse is just beautiful! Happy stitching. ❤
Thank you so much! The Muse gives me so much joy to stitch on - I've just finished her hair, so I'm looking forward to showing her off in my next flosstube.
So nice to meet you! 💝
Thank you for stopping by!
Shakespeare’s Fairies look so beautiful. Your stitching projects look so good.😊
Thank you! I took a long time to plan this one out - and even longer to stitch!

I vote for the box if it will display your stitching…,thank you again
New to your channel, definitely subscribing. Thank you for sharing all your beautiful project. Was very interesting to learn the small story about The Muse!
You’re so very welcome! Thanks for stopping by!
Enjoyed your wip parade and plan to view all your previous videos….love your quiet voice and lovely stitching….thank you
Hey Nat 👋 enjoyed watching your finishes parade ♥️♥️
So glad!
Your stitching is exquisite…Shakespeare Fairies takes my breath away. 🦉🧵🪡😊
Oh thank you! It gave me such joy to stitch.
So wonderful seeing you back with all your lovely WIP’s …. Great progress on your vintage poster piece … Hope to see you back again soon !! ❤️❤️
Thanks Kelly - I have plans!
Your last comment was 2 years ago and people are asking how they didn’t know. Two years later and I’m only just finding out as well!
It's never too late! I'm glad you found it eventually. Happy stitches!
I learned the loop stitch from this video, about 10 months ago. It truly astonished me to learn a new cross stitching technique after stitching for over 40 years! Now I'm here to learn the finishing techniques! I noticed that you do your first stitch in the cross stitch backwards from how I do it. Then, I suddenly knew why! You live in Australia where many things are reversed compared to the way things are here, near Seattle, Washington, USA! Your toilets swirl opposite from ours, you have Christmas in the summer, etc. That must be the reason for doing your stitch so different from the way I do it! Lol, lmao!
haha - upside down! LOL! It just works better for me that way, and you could flip it around any way to suit you. :D
These techniques are truly amazing! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. I can’t wait to try this all out, it will make my stitching even more enjoyable wow.
You are so welcome!
My loop finishes always come loose unless I do a pin stitch after
Late to the game here; just learned about loop start with 1 thread. Trying to learn how to do it with more threads. For the last stitch you do, how many threads are you using? And thanks for the video!’
It doesn't bother me

Very informative, thank you so much
Please show us the back of the work as I wonder how the tails look on the back. Do not be discouraged by cars and planes going by. Most of us do not live in a silent world.
Can you do a pin stitch on linen?
i find sometimes my loop doesn't get pulled throught and i'll end up with a bump of thread. Any hints?
OK - I am sitting here with my chin on the floor!! This is going to make my cross stitching life SO MUCH EASIER!! Thank You!!
I’ve been cross stitching for almost 40 years, just learned the loop start about 4 years ago. Total game changer. Can’t wait to see the loop finish.
Thank you so much for showing the loop method. I'm starting cross stitch again after about 30 years and I haven't heard of this before. IT's going to be a game changer. Thank you!
Who would have thought I would learn something new after 50+ years of stitching 😱. I had never heard of a loop finish. Thanks for teaching me something new.
This was great demonstration, thank you.
Beautiful finish, and wonderful wips😊❤
Thank you!
Why do you do the pin stitch so far away from the loop stitch?
Hi Connie 👋 great question! It only looks far away because of the magnification. I do the pin stitch so that the future stitches that are coming will be stitched over the tail on the back. So it performs like an away-knot, only neater.
Thank you! @@NittynatStitches

Will you be singing at the Opera House for the Christmas concert? My husband and I are hoping to get tickets when we’re in Australia in December.😊
Yes I will! The program is looking awesome. That concert sells very well so book your tickets early.
@@NittynatStitches Do you know when tickets will go on sale? We’re watching the website 😉
@lynnxstitchescreates they’re on sale already through the Sydney Opera House website. Search for Carols at the House. 👍🥰
@@NittynatStitches woo hoo🎉 I was able to our tickets! 😃
Which concert are you coming to?
Loop finish?! I’m so happy! Thank you!
Wonderful see all your WIPs. St. Andrews is looking amazing!
Thank you. I’m so pleased with how it is going too.
Was such a fun retreat! So good to meet new people :)
