People actually listen to this skank?
Ah, yes, the cure for my neurological condition is to **checks notes** run around outside. Brilliant!
@@ShaunDreclin it is to burn off the extra energy and get everything running in the morning. The same as how people let their car's engines warm up before they drive.
She's saying until schools change their hours that kids need to get up earlier than for school and do some type of moving around activity like exercise.
I'm a teenager with ADHD .what can i do for it
Develop a routine that helps to both release tension or increase focus. Exercise is very useful for some, setting up a focused learning/study/homework time in an environment where you are not distracted is good. A lot of it is setting up rewards for the actions you want to take.
My parents had the opposite theory, and wouldn’t you know, it had the opposite effect 😆 Wonderful advice!! Listen to her!!
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼👏🏼 Word
All these different forms of media have been shortening the attention span of children, and i know after covid there was an even bigger push to adapt online learning. Though the number of tools available has increased while the cost of them has decreased. I feel tech should make teaching easier and faster.
I absolutely don't agree !
But I agree
interesting point
These schools work for ultra rich kids...cause it does not matter for them what to learn as they are already rich in life, no stress for earning
Great video! I'm just getting started in Arkansas
I wouldn't say very little. We learn a lot of things that are applicable, but that doesnt stick out to us because we now think of them as common sense. Other things, like memorizing dates or formulas, are forgotten because of lack of use and we focus on those that we cant remember
Perhaps my specific knowledge is understanding complex topics by breaking them but how am I gonna make money from this ???
Wow, this is going to get a lot of push back from teacher Unions. I invision this staying private but hopefully they're collecting enough data to really convince everyone. I hope they succeed.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
These kids all come from decent families that encourage respectful behavior. Critical part to any education. Still, really cool concept. Looking forward to post-graduation reviews of these kids
Unfortunately the nail that sticks up gets hammered down, i cannot afford to take risks
Now I'm a reinforcement teacher because I just remember the stuff
Sadly not everyone recognises that so im in a bit of a situation where should i empress and get hight grades for work ect or just do my own stuff
i was like that in school. now im a millionaire
Prove it
Sure 😂
@@ObscureGaruda it's so over for people like you in terms of mentality that you can't even comprehend the reality that significant portion of people have net worth exceeding million, which is not even that significant (6.6% of US citizens).
@@kav955-qo1dt I understand rich people exist. I even believe your statistic. I just don’t believe you’re one of them 😂
@@ObscureGaruda fair enough have a nice day
MEEEE 😂 I refuse to play the game and I’m in graduate school. It is about learning! I hate hate hate the game is school and it should not even be like this on a graduate level!
However, you need the grades to show you learned.
grades show you can turn in an assignment
@@teefmeef Yeah, but grades also show you learned.
Not really, one of my friends cant do any of our math assignments (were in the same class) yet he has a higher grade than me who is basically what the woman in the video is describing. Good grades proves you do well in school, not that you actually learned
@@damnit_jamie186 That’s not my point. Read my simple, one sentence comment again. “You need the grades to show you learned.” You can learn everything under the sun, but how is the teacher supposed to know you learned it? Through good grades such as homework and tests.
@ObscureGaruda you didnt read my comment, either. Good grades prove you turned in your assignment like a good little kid. Using your information in day to day life to complete simple to insanely difficult tasks and challenges is what proves you learned. What your teacher thinks you learned or not really doesnt matter unless youre going for prestigious academic awards, high achieving ivy leagues, or incredibly challenging career paths like scientist or mathematician. Get your head out of the governments ass and admit that most if not all school systems are flawed because learning and teaching is something to be done on an individual level.
This does make me feel seen. However, I still need the grades. I have been told so many times to “play the game” but how does one actually do that.
Bro i feel u. We have our midterms this week and tomorrow i have chem. Ughh i just din't want to conform to this game of school. Its just not nurturing and u dint really gwt to learn the stuff u learn in the long run. At least for me tho
I am but a slave to the education system
Can definitely relate to this. I did 5 grade math in grade 2 but struggled with some other subjects because they didn't interest me. I always question the why? behind answers and assignments and don't really care about always getting the right answers to assignments more learning the thought process and recognize the patterns. In high school I taught myself programming during Covid instead of trying to improve my Cs to Bs or As in other subjects.
Ayyyy
i relate to this :)
i feel seen
On the flip side, video games have no real stakes while often times things in school can. So giving complicated instructions that are challenging can just cause anxiety instead.
You mean, like when i first started teaching in 1998...yep. Imagine that. I meed to investigate these schools because I just can't thrive in a typical educational institution.
Is it job hoping? Bcuz sometimes it actually backfires…. So plan first before job hoping folks! 🤠
That's why home schooling is so much better!!
It really depends tho, because some parents don't have the time or education to do that, plus some parents just teach stuff wrong? Like you wouldn't want your child going to a Christian science class where the teacher thinks the earth is 4 years old
Wolf I get the concept but the "taking the teacher out of the equation" has some serious implications and potential ramifications.
Love the antifragile concept, thank you!
Me inscribi al frew trial pero no me deja cancelar en la pagina! Me puedes ayudar? Pense que era pagos mensuales y son 1 pago anual😮 i need help!
I didn't know how connected all of their schools are! It's really awesome how their schools work. They have so many possibilities for everyone and everything. The specific Doral School location that I am thinking of, offered classes like 3D Printing, Animation, Coding, ASL, HOSA, and so much more! That doesn't even include what enrichments they had after school. The teachers were always great and the school felt so friendly. They had a ton of similar things to this specific school, but they also were unique in their own way. They also go with the colors green, and navy blue. Dragons were a cool mascot. I forgot, they also had robotics.
100% correct!!
Thank you for the reminder. Because of this video, I put my phone away and did some exercise.
Because school is not entertaining they have level ups in games and you don’t help there playing time is not enough there need it for the hole fay
Español?
Well some people I have known playing video games actually have great retention skills. You know like in some games such as minecraft you gotta remember a lot of things and people actually do. I guess it all has more to deal with what seems more interesting to a child's brain. The vibrant colours of video games are more attractive than your regular ol' black/white board with chalk and markers. If you try to make learning interesting by digging deep into a topic with lots of visualization and experiments wherever possible, learning would actually be fun. Schools can be fun. Just that modern techniques should be implemented you know?
Because we want to make them jealous, and it's fun, while school is hell and theres like 10 topics to study in 1 day
Because its actually fun, school makes stuff boring, for one History, its so fun to learn youtube or video games like MOH, early COD games, Enlisted and many more.
Make the kids play red dead to learn abt the American history 💀
@@Mr.heisenbones Read dead 2 for the turn of the century lol

if Mario jumps on a koopa at exactly 5.45 tiles per second, what is the speed of Mario being pushed down to the ground?
@@jaxonplayz4403the speed or Mario gets reset and Mario get a little push upwards wich means that Mario will land in ≈ 0.5 seconds because the kooper is 2 tiles tall and u get pushed up 1 tile 3 : 4.5seconds = 0.6667 second ≈ 0.5 seconds
@@jaxonplayz4403 ohh fu
Thats why some schools try to put games especially video games into the curriculum. Video games are designed to entertain and almost every kids prefer entertain over learning while schoola are designed primarily to provide knowledge, not entertainment.
In my opinion as a child I think its because the video games make us attracted to them by the design and difficulty of the game or watch other people on UA-cam play the game, so people will like to purchase/download the game mainly attracting kids.
I think a really big thing for this is design, with video games you know the game is setup for you to win, unfortunately life isnt designed like this lol
Or fun
W comment brother you are fire asf and I hope you have a nice day 💖
This is incredible, thank you for sharing. How can we build these in Los Angeles!? Are there resources that can have data on benefits/successes for the kids who attend this school (and others like it)? Or, rather, how do we determine if these methods are better than traditional?
I'm a homeschooler father, but i watch this and i can reconsider my child education.
Excellent! Best wishes ALWAYS.
