We lost my grandma last year and I also have all these thought of the last times I saw her or heard her voice etc. I definitely understand what you’re coming from. That monteverde olive is a bigtime bleeder! I havent really inked it after the trp change to sanzen bc it always gives me trouble (plus i dont love how monteverde inks gum up in a pen). But i do looove that olive ink and it is sooo smooth to write with! Thanks for showing this planner too btw!! Very cool... i wonder what that paper is callled.. is it like the kinbor(sp) planners paper?
@@mtchob interesting, I hadn’t heard that about the olivine before! I just tested it on the Sanzen loose leaf paper I have and it bled a little when I did a bigger swatch, but the writing was ok. I’ve had the same experience with it gumming up though, looked like my pen was growing barnacles! It is very much like the Kinbor paper, which I enjoy quite a bit. I don’t know what it’s technically called though
happy birthday
Thank you♥️
Hiya You an try to use a pen flush solution, one part ammonia 9 parts distilled water and a few drops of dawn dish soap. Give the parts a good soak. Hopefully that will work with the document ink!
Thanks, I’ll give that a shot!
Glad to see your review! I have been using this planner (off and on) this year! I like the layout and the space at the bottom is great. I am normally a horizontal fan but having that space at the bottom makes a big difference. Mine came with more of a "tn style" cover off of Amazon but it looks like the same on the inside, but I am using my other b6 size covers. The yellow is subtle enough that it doesn't bother me (and I prefer it to the red in the Cousin).
@@b_mac3816 I agree, I’m not a fan of the red in hobonichi either. Are you planning on using this again next year?
@@Livonpaper I don’t think so but only because I really like a blank notebook and to do my own layouts. I have done that with the b6 slim nanami for a couple years and just set up a b6 stalogy. I tend to abandon when i get dated planners I’m discovering. But I also like them filled out at the end of the year so I tend to keep a few updated haha. But it really is a great b6 option!
@@b_mac3816 I’m setting up a b6 slim Nanami for next year! I love those notebooks and I’m looking forward to the flexibility as well. And I know what you mean about the filled in book at the end of the year. It’s just so satisfying!
Thank you so much for making a video about it! I do love the color scheme and layout and it has some nice features, but still is minimal. I am definitely in love!
one followup question, do you have any zig clean color dot markers? do you know how they fair on the paper?
@@mybrainonplans I don’t have any of those, but I can test out some of the water based markers I have and get back to you tomorrow. I’m glad you liked it too!
@@Livonpaper thank you so much!
It's an interesting layout, thanks for showing it! It reminds me of the Take A Note B6. Remind me, has your only experience with the new Sanzen been the W222 planner?
@@KatiesCraftStudio well I’m thoroughly confused now. The w222 site says it’s tomoegawa… but it doesn’t feel like the old stuff at all. My Lamy doesn’t bleed through the old stuff and it bleeds through this. It feels like the same paper in my Nanami crossfield, which Nanami just calls “new” trp. I also purchased some loose leaf from Amazon and it feels different than all the notebooks I’ve used it in🤷🏻♀️
@@Livonpaper that's what I suspected. There's OG Tomoegawa paper, that was made on machine #7 until it broke. Then there's "new" TRP which was made on #9 until Sanzen bought it. Now there's Sanzen TRP. W222 is using the #9 paper, and they're promoting it like it's a good thing, but it isn't. You might like Sanzen, it's still an adjustment for people but it doesn't have a huge bleeding problem (generally).
@@KatiesCraftStudio thanks for clarifying, google was being no help last night. Sadly my b6 slim for next year is also the new stuff so I’ll deal for another year
@@Livonpaper you've done it before, you can do it again!

Ahhhh glad i found your channel. Im team B6 slim too! Its such a dreamy size. I love my weeks as well. I did pick up a mega weeks, but i also got the Sterling Ink compact B6 slim. Im hoping to use it in a TN with blank inserts for dailies and journaling. Love what you are setting up!!
@@moniques.journal.corner thanks for watching! I agree, b6 slim is just perfect. The TN combo sounds good too. Which mega weeks did you get? That cherry one was so tempting!
@@Livonpaper lol I got the cherry one. All of my weeks have been blue and I was so excited to see the bow & tie designs on the mega I had to get it. I'm not a huge red fan, but it's adorable. Hopefully it will be here next week sometime. Now the struggle will just be which one I will ultimately use. Whichever one I don't use for my personal stuff will end up going to work I think.
@@moniques.journal.corner I’m glad they gave cute options for the mega this year. Good luck deciding♥️
I’m having a hard time deciding what to do for 2025. Last year my approach was to order literally ALL the planners and this year was a shit show! Hoping to stick with one planner next year (but we’ll see haha). I love what you’ve been doing with your Wonderland 222 this year. I might go with one of those, although the B6 size is sooo tempting. I thought of going with a jibun techo in B6 slim.
@@valerie7918 it’s hard with so many options! I was very tempted by the sterling ink b6 slim. I’ve never had a Jibun before, they’re interesting too. There’s still a few months before 2025, anything can still happen!
Hi. I'm so undecided at the moment about 2025. I love the idea of a spiral notebook and using it like rings. The flexibility and bound thing 🤷♀️. I'm glad I found your channel

it might be hard to get, but i have heard really great things about the goodINKpressions notebooks that feature tomoe river paper (68gsm). do you have an opinion on that and/or would you consider making a video on it? i’m very new to fountain pens, my first one hasn’t even arrived yet, and i’m looking up lots of videos on them :]
Welcome to the world of fountain pens! What did you decide to go with for your first pen? I have not used a goodINKpreasions notebook but I found them on Etsy. They have good prices for Tomoe River Paper so I can definitely look into that for a video! I would also recommend the fountain pen subreddit as well if you haven’t been there already: www.reddit.com/r/fountainpens/s/JKtG1qCxIM Lots of experts and lots of reviews on inks and pens. I hope you enjoy your pen!
Liv, Of course, I should have watched this episode first, but as circumstances dictated, the - second was the first 🙄. However, not to worry. The Twone booklets are indeed a bargain for the fiscal outlay; admittedly, they are a little small for my taste - I would only use this size for occasional days out, & where note taking would be at a minimum. At just over one Dollar (US) it is impossible to go wrong, & again, the fact they are suitable enough quality for (my) beloved fountain pens - other than pencils, I write/draw with nothing else; I was never happy with gel or biros/rollerballs - & perhaps that's due to my being left handed (otherwise my handwriting resembles a trainwreck !); thankfully, I am an underwriter, vis-a-vis parallel or overwriter (hook hand), so the control is still absolutely mine. If I may make an observation or two - you do not seem to demonstrate your own handwriting on camera, & sililarly, nor do you employ cursive; I am aware that a number of States across the US no longer teach children to write in cursive - it is all print, which I do find a shame. Perhaps it is the new cultural imperative... ? I look forward to your next instlament of, 'Does It Bleed', Best, Andrew.
Thank you for another comment! I appreciate you watching. I agree, these are on the small side but I enjoy using them for affirmations and gratitude. I have excluded video of me writing in an effort to keep the video short, but I will experiment with the next one and see how it goes! I do write in cursive - it feels only natural with fountain pens! However, you are right: I was briefly taught cursive in elementary school and then was never required to use it again. So I taught myself again a few years ago when I got into fountain pens. It’s come a long way but it’s still mostly illegible!
Greetings, Liv, In regard to those smaller notebooks, I imagine they are indeed perfect for notelets to friends & family. In regard to Cursive handwriting, yes, fountain pens were made for such script -block capitals are so ugly - unless you're making an 'Out Of Order' sign 😉. I am sure your handwritten pages are perfectly legible - but of course, there should be no compulsion for you to write in front of the camera if it makes you feel uncomfortable; that said, I would hope you at least give it a go - it's always good to try something different, hey. I supppose I can count myself fortunate in that when I started school - it's all I ever really knew; foutain pens & pencils were all that was provided; we learnt cursive with a pencil initially, then began with a cheap, state-funded (Bic) cartridge fountain pen; the transition between lead & ink is not as wide as you might imagine - it certainly slowed down my handwriting - & in doing so, made my scribble more than legible; thereafter, it was merely a matter of practice. Enjoy the remainder of your day ! Andrew.
Good day, Liv. It is clear, these notebooks are certainly worth the money - more significantly because they are fountain pen friendly. I reside in the UK, & as yet, this particular brand is unavailable here (unless they're packaged under a different trade name); incidentally, where did you purchase them ? Mine own preference for any notebook is that they are unlined - dotted, grid or plain would be my go-to (lined books are more redolent of schooldays). Of course, the retailer from whom you purchased that four pack may well sell internationally. Succinct overview - thank you ! Best, Andrew.
Hello Andrew, Thank you for watching and commenting! I purchased these from Amazon here: a.co/d/aqk4iQJ I’m not sure if they ship to the UK though. I did find a number of other similar brands like this one: a.co/d/iArMlR2 So you might try to search for hardcover unlined craft cover notebooks and see what pops up. Good luck!
Hello again, Liv, Apologies for the delayed response, but work has prevailed. In fact, those notebooks are accessible from the US (Amazon) site, & are winging their way to me here in the UK as I type; nothing, it seems can escape the all-encompassing realm of Amazon worldwide distribution !! I trust you're enjoying a pleasant afternoon, Kind regards, Andrew
Thanks for posting this, as you mentioned it's really hard to find videos of how people are actually using their W222 planner
Hopefully I’ll have a good flip through for you at the end of the year!

One thing I have always loved about pockets its like having a little place to create a mood board or vision board right in your planner. Love your channel name :)
I agree, it sets the atmosphere! Thank you for your kind comment♥️
The stoic philosophy way of looking at things that you cannot control is something I've been thinking about a lot lately while going through a turmoil I cannot (externally) control. I read a book from Seneca a few years ago and that really resonated with me. Unfortunately putting this way of thinking into practice is much harder to do than to say. But just being aware of the idea of what one can and cannot control helps my thoughts from spiraling. And when they do spiral, because sometimes it's very automatic, it helps me real them back. Thank you for this video. It was a nice way to spend a Saturday morning.
Thank you for taking time to comment and for spending some time with me today! I agree, application of the philosophy is not easy but it helps when I remind myself that it’s a practice- I’m always getting better at it. And yes, awareness is crucial. It’s exhausting at times and it’s hard but I do think it’s worth it. I hope the turmoils turn to peace for you!
Your end of your / start of year sounds like it has been a lot. Before finding hobonichi planners I always had planners with the months embedded between the weeks and because it's something that has always been like this, I never questioned it. The layout might also be the reason I never used them. I always planned with only the weekly layouts. But now that they are all together I've found the monthly planner in me. You have a good point that they are so much easier to use when they are together. I can completely relate to the feeling of wanting to toss a planner and start a new when things get tough. Hope the remaining of the spring is a bit easier.
I have since purchased some tabs and that pretty much solves my problem. It might help you if you ever stray from hobonichi again! I used the weeks for the previous two years and loved them. Thank you for your kind words, I too hope spring brings some relief
