Red Bank New Jersey is a special town near the Atlantic coast. It’s got a thriving, trendy downtown admired by many, it was even selected by Smithsonian Magazine as one of the coolest towns in America. It’s got great restaurants, theaters, street fairs, and more. And getting there is easy- it’s right near a major highway, there’s a train and bus station with access to New York City, and even a ...

English explorer??😂 you mean English colonizer
Thanks for making this great video, with all of the interesting local history. Now I know where all of the beautiful Sycamores came from, who McCarter was, and why there are mini brick towers/obelisks at park across the street from Sickles School. Your segment on the bridge brings back great memories - it was fun to paint it, but so many trucks got stuck under that bridge. It must have driven the police and the first aid squad nuts!
The passenger trains used to run right past my house until I was about 5-7 years old. I left Highlands in 71.
👍👍.........
Very interesting ! I thoroughly enjoyed this video’s photos and narrative
thank you for this video
wow you killed it! Thank you
ty, great vid
Really appreciate this documentary. a well done, very interesting production!
The Sea Bright Bathing Pavilion . . . now known as Chapel Beach Club . . . was commonly known as "Elliott's" when I was a kid (growing up in Little Silver) as we were members there. But, for some reason, when narrating the various names of the place, it was never mentioned. Also, the closing titles where the letters appear over a period of time to form the complete words . . . is annoying. Otherwise, I very much enjoyed this presentation.
Great job! Very informative
I have lived in keansburg for 3 going on for years now just north of Atlantic highlands this area has been ran down torn up the ferry is terrible now and the train hasn’t existed for almost 50 years now however I can see it making a come back they need to clean up the beaches and put more stops on the ferry and expand the hours of service make stops from Atlantic City all the way to nyc and booooooiooooooooooom this area would be coming back in business and making money again
If you check your map, I believe you'll find Keansbury to be to the _west_ of Atlantic Highlands.
Ahhh great <3
Really great documentary. Thanks for this! I grew up in Leonardo and have lived in Montana for 8 years. Recently began diving into the history of my home town and surrounding areas and this was an awesome find!
Was it a coincidence that your premier was almost exactly 50 years since the accident took my father's life?
Roger, it was a coincidence. As a kid, I used to wait for my Dad to come home from trips watching through those big windows at the airport, it's a story I've always wanted to tell. I hope I honored his work with this story.
I worked at Red Bank Airport from age 14 until it closed! Then went on to a major airline as a Flight Attendant, and Actor! I was alone at the Airport when the last owner Jim Loeb crashed at Newark, and took the call from Newark Air Traffic Controller!
That's amazing- I hope you can join us on March 28th in Asbury Park for the Premier!
