    This is the best build I have seen and this video is about 5 years old. Did you ever make a step by step on how this was done? I have the exact same kayak and would love to set mine up similar to yours.

    So, 3 years later, are you happy with the foot pedal rail placement....or would you make any changes? I'm in the process of pretty much duplicating your build. Those factory molded in foot ridges are kind of a pain. Awesome build!

    How did you hook up the kill switch?

    • @creoleyakangler6642
      @creoleyakangler6642 3 роки тому

      The kill switch is nothing more than a break in the positive cable from the battery to the pwm. Install the kill switch between the two.

    Hi there! Love what you did here! A client of mine recently gifted me a lifetime tamarack and I am recreating your set up. Just one question so I can be finally done. How did you hook up the pwn motor? You said 2 leads go to the battery and 2 to the trolling motor?

    great set up my friend! very similar to mine, i will send you the link. I fish for striped bass and other big game fish, therefore I keep the cockpit open. I power her with the watersnake - do you find the C30 gives you more power? how many hours do you get out of your 35ah battery? With my Mighty Max I get 4 to 6 hours (with a 9w solar panel). Since you fish salt I also highly recommend outriggers, you will immediately notice a huge difference

    • @JoseRivera-tl2dy

    • @creoleyakangler6642
      @creoleyakangler6642 3 роки тому

      Thanks for the support bro. This was my first kayak build, and unfortunately, I sold this yak to upgrade to something a bit more stable. My new yak is powered by a watersnake T24 saltwater motor. The difference in power between the C30 & the T24 is not noticeable. However, the T24 will give you more run time on a battery charge, as it only draws 20 amps on high speed, and the C30 draws 30 amps on high speed. My new yak is being powered by a 50AH Lithium, and it allows me to run in saltwater for 8-9 hours when fishing the marsh! I have been getting some requests, so I am about to start building for private customers really soon. Stay tuned for more custom yak builds.

    How exactly did you run that turnbuckle through the clamp on the shaft? I have the same trolling motor and have no clue how to make mine work like that with a turnbuckle because one side of the clamp fits the nut and the other is just a hole, which means a turnbuckle would have slop in it, if it would even go. Thanks for the video!

    • @creoleyakangler6642
      @creoleyakangler6642 4 роки тому

      Brent Curry- the steering arm is made of (2) 3/8" eyebolts, and (2) nuts that are made to join all thread rods together. The hole in the clamp was drilled a little larger, to pass the bolt through, as well as provide a larger hole for the all thread nuts to settle into the clamp. Do not over tighten the eyebolts, as it doesn't require alot of tension to hold the clamp tight to the motor shaft. Hope this helps!

    • @brentcurry9698
      @brentcurry9698 4 роки тому

      Creole Yak Angler thank you so much. I’m at Lowe’s now and I found the eye bolts that I needed. I was almost positive you had to drill that clamp out a bit to get that to work when I looked at my trolling motor. Thanks man, wicked yak build!

    • @creoleyakangler6642
      @creoleyakangler6642 4 роки тому

    • @creoleyakangler6642
      @creoleyakangler6642 4 роки тому

      Thanks for the comments bro. The control box, is a dry box from walmart, with a pwm speed controller mounted inside. The wires from the dry box go down into the hull from the bottom side of the dry box, to prevent moisture from entering, and affecting the controller electronics.

      @glenn brigan- Thanks for your questions. I transport my yak in the back of my pickup truck. With the current setup, I can lock the trolling motor in a stowed position without removing it during transport. It makes loading and launching alot easier and efficient. The total weight of the yak with all mods is 106.5 lbs. The yak weighs 57.5 lbs from the factory, and all mods total 49 lbs. I hope this helps. 🎣

      @Ricky Hill- Thank you for the comments and questions. I can tell you that I take my kayak out at least 2-3 times per month, on fishing trips that last up to 7 hours. While I don't use the motor continuously for that time frame, I've never experienced any overheating from the pwm. Bear in mind that it's being used in the south Texas marsh, where it's really hot. I hope this response helps. Tight lines🎣
