BASELINER vs SLICER | 4.0 NTRP TENNIS
🎾In this video, I want to show you highlights from my last league match. For the last couple of months, I haven't been in good form, but right now, I feel like I'm back and was looking forward to the upcoming league match. I played against a very interesting opponent who used a slice in almost 90 percent of his shots, regardless of whether it was a forehand or backhand. It was a battle of two different playing styles, as I consider myself a baseline player and my opponent is, let's say, a slicer. Enjoy the highlights!

    Ha I love that you left in the racquet throw at 6:47! His style of play would definitely frustrate me. Nice job playing to your strengths, playing smart, keeping it consistent, and most of all, not letting the ever slicer get to you!

      Yeah, it was one of the highlights of the match! 😄 Basically, every player is different, and we all handle emotions differently. In these situations, I’m more like Nadal; I stay calm when I don’t feel it and play bad shots. I’m still trying to encourage myself. What about you? 🎾

  • @knotwilg3596
    @knotwilg3596 7 днів тому

    Your footwork and mindset are your biggest assets. Your first serve is good, you second serve is a bit of a pancake. Your groundstrokes are very consistent but could be heavier with topspin. Your volleys are ok but the overhead smash needs development. You played a great match against a difficult opponent. His unconventional style hides the fact that he has great control and feeling, with nasty slice serve, the drop shots, lobs, and all the weaponry that comes with a pusher. He's very good at volleying too. The only thing he needs, besides the fact that he chooses not to topspin, is a little anger management :)

      When I started playing tennis 4 years ago, I could barely hit any offensive shots, but I still had close matches with players who were at a higher level. It was exactly because of my footwork and, above all, my mindset, as you said. Now it's better; I can be aggressive from time to time, but I need more power. For me, it’s like a dream come true to have my own channel and the opportunity to share it with others. Believe me, I have big motivation to improve my level of tennis, and these kinds of comments help boost my motivation.🔥 So thank you, I really appreciate it.🎾

      @@NoLimitTennis 4 years to get to this level is impressive. You must be very motivated and/or diligent. Having these "quick feet" against the relatively slow play of a slicer is not intuitive. Many players struggle to develop that type of footwork and are watching the outcome of their strokes instead. You are always preparing for the ball to come back and attack it without remorse of what happened before. Strong attitude and the physique to back it up. Cheers!

    There is very little wrong with your toss in this video! If you are not having time for your motion the solution is not to throw the ball higher to give yourself more time, but to throw it later in the motion. You do not want to be hitting the ball one the way down from its apex, but rather at its peak. Which you can see you are actually doing quite well here. Cheers

      @nagamendo5655 Місяць тому

      @@Queyh2 Well, I played Tennis first, then switched to Table Tennis, then to Billiards. All three at local competition level. Then a friend introduced me to Squash which - in my point of view - combined the feeling for the handling of the ball from Tennis with the speed of Table Tennis and the calculating of complex paths that you need when playing Billiards. Therefore, for me, Squash beets all of the three other sports. By far. 😜

    • @NoLimitTennis

      Hmm, everyone likes different sports, but for me, tennis is the best sport 🎾

    • @nagamendo5655
      @nagamendo5655 Місяць тому

      @@NoLimitTennis Of course you are absolutely right. It also depends on what you are using the sport for. For me, Tennis is too slow. I still have a lot of time between two balls to think about my worries, the job etc. etc. This even distracts me from playing the game making me play worse than I could. Squash on the other hand doesn’t give me the chance to think of something else. I have to stay focused. If I habe a grudge against someone, this small black rubber ball is going to pay for it. Everything else has no place in my thoughts anymore. And at the end of the game I am too exhausted to even think about worries or grudges or anything else. And when the exhaustion is gone so are all worries and grudges. The only thing that stays is the energy you get from a good Squash game. If you like Tennis, stay with Tennis. But if you have the chance try out Squash at least for 3 sessions on different days. The first time Squash will be way too fast for you which is frustrating. The second time the feeling for the ball from Tennis will help you but you will still be too slow. And the third time you will start optimizing the way you move yourself and your racket and slowly catch up with speed. This is where the fun starts. And it is the point where you have to decide if Tennis is really the sport you want to stick to. 😜

Doesnt matter if its a junior player, grown up league player, all players have some sort of ranking. In this case, this girl has some sort of a ranking. National, regional, u-12 in country and then everybody can have a better sense of the situation. In Germany where I as amateur guy play a league have a ranking system called performance class or LK, when you have guys with LK 1.1 or 1,2 they are either PRO players or ex pro players, for example I am LK 22 and they are players LK 7.5 meaning they are very good amateur players who probably trained as kids. So when I see LK I know their level of tennis. You have that kind of system in the whole world, depending on the country
