You wouldn't want it.. GDI engines are crap. Carbon buildup kills them. I only buy port injection, or both direct and port injection engines.

Around town it will give you about 14km/l. On the highway you will average around 16km/l.

I get 19.6 km/l, my mom gets 20.4

Suzuki's service has been good. The car itself is very reliable. 3 years running now and had no mechanical issues so far.

A friend of mine installed it for me... not even sure how he did it. Anyways this car has been sold already, don't have it anymore

I use normal steering setting. Sim steering is way to sensitive. I suppose I've just practiced to make the inputs more precise. It's not easy, because with the controller it sometimes turns more aggressively than I wanted it to... but ja practice makes perfect. 👌🏼

Yea, only in 3rd gear where the Baleno slowly starts pulling away. The old Tazz had a lot of life left in it.

Road noise largely depends on what tyres you use. With regards to other sounds... the engine is relatively quiet below 4000rpm. Wind noise isn't too bad either. What I enjoy most about the Baleno is the torque it has in higher gears. I've driven mountain passes while staying in 4th gear most of the time. With my previous car, a 1.3 Toyota, I had to go back to 3rd and sometimes even 2nd on mountain passes. 😅

that's impressive! after watching your videos , i think the baleno will be my next car, the wheight to power ratio is a perfect balance between a sporty feel and a reasonable fuel consumption! do you still have the original tyres? the engine noise does not bother me at all, i quite like it to be honest , it's mostly the road noise that drives me crazy

@@Nowayasaway29 I am still on the standard tyres, yes. Bridgestone Ecopia. Not the best tyre tbh, grip in the wet is limited as you can see. I will probably swap it out for a 195mm Michelin. You wouldn't regret buying the Baleno, especially if you own one after owning the Swift. It is also worth mentioning that if you go for the Baleno GLX which is the one I have as well, you get lots of nice luxuries such as climate control, cruise control, disc brakes on all wheels, infotainment with reverse camera and rear parking sensors, LED headlights etc... I wouldn't advise people to go for the GL unless all you want is extra space and a bit more power. The GL doesn't have a lot of features. Also some people find it difficult to choose betwee the Toyota Starlet and Baleno, but remember the Baleno has a 5 year warranty, whereas the Toyota is only 3 years.

@@thesmoothshifter8407 Extactly what i meant! I dont know about in real life but some race or rally car testers(Markku Alen for example) have sayed that F81 Bmw is very tricy to drive. I have f30 so it is normal 3 series and it cant be compared to M series but previous 3 series was much more better to drive than F series generally...

Swift definitely has better handling than the Baleno. If you go for the Swift GLX you will get 185 R15 tyres, same width as the Baleno GLX. The only drawback for me when comparing the Swift and Baleno to each other is the noticeable difference in torque. Baleno is just better with hills and overtaking, because of the larger engine. I also preferred the more spacious cabin and boot of the Baleno. Swift is an awesome car though, it drives really nice for a small car.

@@thesmoothshifter8407 I see, thanks for sharing. I guess having little torque is a decent excuse to just rev it out more. Do you find your Suzuki's fuel consumption figures to be accurate in real world use?

@@ricetheories No not really, but then again I don't drive economically. My best consumption on a single tank with the Baleno was 16.8km per liter. My worst consumption was 12.9km per liter (where I was basically driving fast all the time) It's not easy getting it below 13km per liter, but according to Suzuki you should be averaging around 18km per liter. Please keep in mind these fuel consumption measurements was based on how far I drove divided by how much fuel my car took for a full tank... so it's a more accurate reading than what the computer will give.

All I did was a rebore, custom exhaust manifold and full 50mm stainless steel exhaust. In all honesty the 2E engine won't offer a lot of performance, I mostly enjoyed the sound of it

Hey bro. My Baleno doesn't hesitate when accelerating. Just keep in mind that the Baleno uses drive by wire technology, so the accelerator is controlled by a chip, not a physical cable... This causes a slight delay when pushing the accelerator, because the chip isn't as instant as a physical cable. So whenever I pull away I usually compensate for the slight delay in throttle response. Not sure if this is what you mean? Check my video where I tested my car's 0 - 100. The 2nd pull I pulled away without wheelspin so you can see what my car does between 2000 and 3000

@@thesmoothshifter8407 Thanks for the explanation, bro. It’s not so much a delay, just a definite jerkiness (almost as if it’s not getting enough fuel/air) within that rev range. I’ve had it at the dealer to check out with its first service, but they claim not to have experienced anything. I’ve got it booked at another dealer to take a look, because it’s definitely not normal and I’m certain it’s not just my imagination. I checked your 0-100km/h video and there doesn’t seem to be anything similar to the issue I’m experiencing. I’m hoping it’s a simple fix, when they eventually admit to it being there.

@@evangilbert90 My dad has an Ignis with the K12M engine... the way you explained it with air and fuel, he was having a similar problem. He told me that occasionally when he puts his foot down the engine would hesitate, almost as if the power is just cut completely... He also had it checked out by the dealer, but they just said that no Engine management warnings could be found. Its really strange, I believe it could be an electrical issue. Does it happen all the time or occasionally?

Power to weight ratio on this car is really good. Makes the 1.4 engine feel more like a 1.6... Suzuki also designed this K14B engine really well. It starts pulling strong from 2500rpm all the way to redline.

Hey bro. Sold the car last year, but I am happy to share the mods. I did very little to it as I merely wanted it to sound good and have a bit more power than stock. We did an engine rebore, not sure about the size. After that we did a 50mm 4-2-1 custom exhaust manifold and a 50mm stainless steel Powerflow exhaust. Carburetor was retuned according to the exhaust system. The exhaust manifold made quite a significant difference in throttle response. With regards to the 'sport mode', I was only making a joke... because automatic cars have sport mode, but old manual cars your foot determined the performance of the engine.

Yes, I can agree on this. The type of metal they used makes the drops very loud.

Yes, manual. With regards to engine noise... It's actually incredibly quiet if you're not accelerating hard... Keep in mind it's a naturally aspirated DOHC engine... They tend to sound more aggressive than a SOHC or turbocharged engine.
