Corrupted Thai police, as always "no surprise" what else is new..stay away from Thailand my friend.
looking good. So Thailand or the Phils which do you prefer? or is it all about the visa?
@@codywy5579 I haven't found the perfect place. But I'd say the English is more swaying than the Visa. You can always use an agent to work out the long term visa in Thailand. I might just continue to go back and forth.

Its the most ridiculous law, they are now enforcing, its fine for Thais to drive without a helmet, no licence, drunk, no problem, but collecting 500b from foreigners just shows how backwards this place is. If they were serious, they would allow foreigners to get a MB DL on a TOURIST VISA, using your home address and DL as formal address that is no need to have a fixed Thai address which is ridiculous if you are a tourist. If tourists don't get around on a MB there is no other way apart from walking all over the place which is just stupid in that bloody heat or having to contend with bargaining with those idiot tuk tuks every time you want to go out.

@@codywy5579 Hi, I'm still in Thailand. Going back to the Philippines next week 🙂
once paid fine, how long we can use the bike without IDP? is it 3 days?
@@prashpp yes. He said 3 days
@prashpp They sometimes accept the receipt after 4 days aswell. Just show it to the police when you get pulled over again. But there are also policemen who don't accept the recepit and want money without issuing a new receipt. Some search your bike and others just friendly send you to the next police station or let you go. It's always different.

Is Rio and the Favelas safe? And is it cheap to visit and get around in Ro.
@@dyno_mite I wouldn’t go to the favelas alone.. On the beach in Rio I saw guys on bicycles ride past women to snatch their necklaces.
@tomsaway123 yeah I always hear if you are going to the Favelas go with someone who is from there. I don't wear jewelry and it's always a good idea to be streets smart. But I really want to visit Rio.
Every favela is different and the situation is always fluid, but, in the south zone generally the favelas are safe. Most of them will have foreigners living or staying in them. The main touristy ones, Rocinha, Vidigal, Santa Marta and Tavares Bastos, can be visited independently easily.
Thank you so much!!! You’re the only person that explains it the best!!

very nice
All persons riding a motor cycle in Thailand require an IDP that verifies they have passed a motor cycle test in their respective country. I visit Thailand regularly and always bring a IDP that show the classes of vehicle I can ride/drive. I too was stopped in Thailand last visit by the very friendly Police and was asked for my documents. I showed my passport, IDP and original licence photographed on my phone and was let on my way without a fine. The only other way around it is to take your motor cycle test in Thailand. And one last thing people - ALWAYS wear a helmet (I know you were wearing one, I saw it) Too many idiots from around the world jump on a bike and end up in hospital from lack of riding experience. Thailand has an appalling road safety record. Be safe.
However; if you are a Thai national, you don’t require a valid license of any kind and furthermore you don’t need to have your vehicle registered!!
well said. and everywhere on internet says the same. follow the rules!
The last two times I’ve gotten the IDP at AAA here in the USA they told me they no longer stamp the motorcycle endorsement , (2023, 2024 ) I asked them if they would please stamp it because I don’t want any issues in Thailand , which thankfully they did ,( I honestly don’t know if the Thai police would accept it if they had refused to stamp it )….so this winter coming up I’m going to go to a different AAA branch ,…I hope they don’t refuse to stamp the motorcycle part ( Ive had my motorcycle license here in the U.S for over 40 years )as I’m going to just get my Thai drivers license ( in my mind I have to believe if they don’t stamp it it’s as good as useless )
Nice video. I am confused how are you flying in a restricted airspace location? My DJI drone won't even take off anywhere near there are even at the Dumaguete Boulevard. The law in the Philippiines is no recreational drone flyling within 10km of an airport. When I flew it from further South at Mangnao Open Beach towards Dumaguete my drone automatically stopped just after Port Royale and wouldn't let me go any further up the coastline as it said I was at restricted air space.
@@CanadianInPhilipipnes I had to agree to some terms and conditions. I also had to give my Philippines phone number before being allowed to fly.
Attempting to learn the language and just simple hello, please, and thank you? Thought you were a bit rude in your interaction with the locals trying to help.
Thank you sir. Both Filinvest videos are really great and very helpful. Thanks so much for sharing. Still undecided .... Have a great day.
Need pa ba ng permit to fly a drone on the city?
Hey, i know this video is kind of old now, but i see that unlike many people, you reply to comments, and i thought perhaps you could help me with some information. You see. I just returned from a trip to the Philippines with the specific purpose of finding somewhere to live. In short, the place i visited didn't fit the bill, though i did find one candidate which i visited briefly. I've now stumbled across IloIlo and the city looks nice, but still too busy for me ( the heart of the city ). Though this esplanade area seems like a beautiful quiet place to be around, and i was wondering if it's a quiet area in general wherever this place is and if theres places to live around there? Sorry for the long read. Would be super thankful for any info on the area. Thanks
@@JohnDoe-u9j8r I really didn't look into housing in that area. I seem to prefer renting a condo. I like the convenience of having everything close by. There are lots of condo buildings being built there.
@tomsaway123 thanks for the reply. I'm in the same boat, I enjoy being in a building, which is how I currently live in Newcastle Australia. But I can dip outside and in 5 minutes seek refuge from the busy and noisy roads and walk along the harbour which is nice. Or take a couple turns and stroll down a quiet back street to the other side of town without walking the main roads. I guess I'm looking for something similar, but I'm not sure it exists. I don't like walking out of my building and being confined to busy main roads with people blasting their horns all day. I like to walk see. Such was what it was like in BGC for the few weeks I stayed there. Living in a city like that with no refuge from the noise would render me a permanent resident In a mental hospital in a matter of months I think lol
@tomsaway123 so far the only place that I think I can rent a little condo, be close to everything I need, and have the ability to take a quiet walk is Subic freeport zone. And possibly somewhere in Clark. That's the best I've found. Maybe Illoillo can offer that to some degree but I'm a little doubtful. Will have to go visit I guess
