Put Social Media Where it Belongs

I am going on a journey to not be so distracted and focus on my goals, family and the energy I have. So for the next 30 days I am going to put social media back where I believe it belongs, in the early 2000's. It will be harder to access on the phone, which makes it harder to compare myself to other moms on the internet and easier to focus on what I am working on for my life. I invite you to do...

Egeskov Castle In Denmark, A Great Place for Kids and Families

We visited Egeskov and it was soo fun and interesting! Our whole family loved exploring as much as we could. There was a massive doll or fairy house, with perfectly crafted miniature everything. It was like a palace for dolls. The attic had a creepy doll with a legend. There was a haunted maze, lots of vintage tools and cars, a treetop walk way, a giant golden egg, and lots and lots of history ...

      I believe there are ways to make sourdough without a Dutch oven but you have to use a pan full of boiling water on a lower oven rack, because the sourdough needs steam to rise. Also I think they put the sourdough on a hot pizza stone? Search it up! There are probably videos of it!

    what suze dutch oven do u use

  • @everydayblythe
    @everydayblythe 6 місяців тому

    Steps in order : BEFORE YOU BEGIN: Make sure your starter is fed active and bubbly! Mix Together with a wooden/plastic utensil: 1/4 cup active sourdough starter 1 1/2 cups filtered water Add: 2 teaspoons of salt 4 cups + 2 tablespoons of flour Mix all the ingredients until there is no dry flour left in the bowl. The dough will have no stretch and will easily tear. Cover your dough with plastic or a lid. Let your dough sit on the counter for 1 hour. Preform 2 sets of stretch and fold. Wet your hands a little to help the dough unstick from the bowl. Gather the dough into a ball, grab one part of the dough and stretch it away from the bottom of the bowl and fold it back on itself. Rotate the bowl 1/4 clockwise. Stretch and fold the dough again. Repeat until you have gone full circle around the bowl. Allow 30 minutes rest on the counter. Repeat stretch and fold one more time. Cover your dough and let it bulk ferment for 7-10 hours. Best to do this overnight so you're not waiting on the dough. Use a little flour on your fingers to prevent the dough sticking. Shape the bread into a boule. Place dough onto parchment paper and put back into your bowl and cover with a lid for 1 hour. 30 mins before your dough is done rising preheat your oven to 450 degrees with the dutch oven inside. Take 2 ice cubes and put them into your dutch oven. Place the dutch oven in the oven so that it heats up as the oven preheats. When the oven is preheated, it's time to score your bread. Pull your dough with the parchment paper out of your bowl, place it on the counter and score your bread. Hold your blade at 15 degree angle. Using gloves, pull out your dutch oven out of the oven. CAREFUL, it will be hot. Place it on a secure surface that can handle heat. Still wearing gloves remove the lid. Grab your boule using the parchment as a sling and carefully lower it into the dutch oven. Grab 2 more ice cubes and place into the dutch oven, behind the parchment paper. Cover with the dutch oven lid and put it back into your main oven. Bake the bread for 20 mins with the lid on. Then remove the lid and bake the bread for 30 mins more. Remove from the oven. Let it cool for 10 minutes in the dutch oven. Then remove the bread from the dutch oven and allow it cool fully before cutting! Enjoy!!

    OMG, the beginning of the video resonates with me so much. I woke up ready for the day, but then my good mood slowly turned to irritation because I kept tripping over clutter and things were falling off my tables. I was so fed up today that I threw all my clutter into a corner and slowly went through it, deciding what to keep, donate, or throw away. When I feel too tired to continue, I take a break and come back to it later, instead of trying to go through everything without a break. That used to frustrate me more and made me consider just throwing everything away and starting over.

    I need to know how to start the starter to begin with not how to feed it!! I don't understand why I can't find this information anywhere

    • @everydayblythe
      @everydayblythe 4 місяці тому

      Hey! A starter is very simple to make, but it takes a while! The most basic way is to start with a cup of water and a cup of flour, mix them together, cover it with a cloth or lid and let it sit. It has to be fed 2x a day. So choose like 9am and 9pm. Each time you feed your starter, you have to discard half of the mixture. So you throw away 1 cup of the mixture and then feed it 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of flour. Do this for a week straight, don't miss feeding your starter or it will start to smell very vinegary or like nail polish remover. If you smell a strong smell it means its very hungry and needs feeding. Typically after a week you should have the beginnings of a starter. But it won't be mature for like month. You could make a few things with the discarded part after a week. So rather than throwing it in the trash you could use it as part of a discard recipe. There are many out there on the web. Things like pancakes, or english muffins, etc. It's not strong enough to make a bread yet. Do this for a month and you could try a bread recipe then. You'll know by the smell usually if the starter is good, it should smell a bit yeasty, a bit sour, not disgusting, and should have bubbles too. You'll also notice that the starter at the beginning can become very liquidy at the top, you can either pour it off or just mix it back in, it just means it's hungry. I hope this helps!!
