@im_buffy well now I must ask as your new student what convinced you to take that many hellsweeps? I'm hard stuck tekken emp so I'm getting into what a true 50/50 is.

@ having the fear of getting up and being hit with another one made me freeze up bad! imo showing that you’re not afraid to do 3 in a row (even if it gets blocked on the third try) creates a mind game where your opponent is always looking for it and opens them up to kazuya’s mids! Kazuya has good “small tekken” like pokes, etc but he can become a 50/50 monster once you condition your enemy (adapt to them) and that’s where he’s a real terror.. that freezing up not only opens people up to his 50/50 but also his smaller pokes and what not. I’ll post some kazuya’s matches soon!

I will be honest. It took me YEARS to become competent in Tekken because there’s so much to learn. My biggest tip is always make sure you’re having fun and the rest will follow. If you feel like doing “homework” to level up quicker, learn your characters punishment, simple frame traps, and their combos. That goes a long way. Another major thing about Tekken 8 is how incredible the replay feature is. I always recommend spending at least a bit of time watching your replays after each session with all tips turned on, so you can see where you need to grow while acquiring knowledge of all these options. Lastly, find a space where people are chill and encourage each other to have fun and learn. That’s the true highlight of the FGC, imo! that move is actually -18! you could uf44, df2, or b3+4. it doesn’t look launch punishable but it’s very unsafe, so you have to really practice that punish. Uf44 is the best option, but b3+4 can be used situationally like if it was blocked at tip range. Thanks for watching and the question! I love answering questions so don’t be afraid to ask more! 🫡
