Always use a torque wrench to spec when installing spark plugs.
A poor family is going without spark plugs tonight.
Do these boats not have a drain plug? Is sucking it out the only way?
I’m sure they do have a drain plug but the most efficient and cleanest way is the dipstick sucking it out
Doing my first oil change tomorrow. Thanks for the video! You made it so easy with all the steps.
Heck yeah man!! Great work!!
@@justinjames1719 no reason to ever pay for an oil or spark plug change. This video was awesome. It was so easy! Thanks again.
It’s not bad at all doing your own work! It’s so expensive at the shop! Great job bro, I’m very glad my video helped you out!!
Thanks About to attempt this for the first time and your video was very helpful!
Awesome! Good luck bud, take your time and have fun! Hope the video helps you out!
Do you think you could surf w/ no rope without the ballast, just the booster?
No it needs the weight for sure. Water displacement.
Really good video thanks! Sick mullet too!
Anyone can share torque specs on plugs and bolts
This is a good video on service for the 150. Thanks!
Spark plugs require changing on a 2018?? Wow, it must really get used a lot!!!
Does the oil pump come with the boat? Or did you have to buy it separately? If so, where did you purchase it from?
Had to buy it separately. Amazon or I bought mine at West Marine.
how many liters of oil to change, thank you
How do you get all the water out when you rinse inside it?
I usually park on an incline if I can Make sure all pugs are out. Pushing a lot of the water out by brush or squeegee.
Awesome video...thank you
Do you know where the temperature is reading from? Is it oil temperature or head block or what?
Thanks! It's nice to see how to do things before you dive in!!! Have you performed a Valve Lash adjustment yet? I have not found any videos on that. My Polaris Ranger is new to me, but a 2nd hand 2021 with just 12 hours on it.
Supposed to torque the plugs to 12.5n.
I also change my fuel filter at every oil change on my Dodge Ram Cummins.
I didn't even know I had a crankcase filter LOL
Hey what city are in I'm in Washington DC and can't find anyone to work on jetskis
I’m in Moses Lake, Washington. Opposite side of the country lol
@@justinjames1719 my luck lol Question...I let a guy check it out to me it sounded healthy when he fired it up however he should me the oil was leaking from somewhere at the bottom of the block I left it with his to get to the problem he said it was a rod with tho the block sounds fishy...so what's your opinion
4 stroke or two stroke?
@@justinjames1719 4 stroke it's a fx 140 2006
Without Seeing or hearing it I would definitely do a compression when was the last time the oil’s been changed
Dig the mullet Lacey and Devin Is my aunt and uncle
Great people! Did you get a hat?
I finally have a bullet
Punch a hole in the oil filter with a hammer/nail (NOT a drill bit). Drastically reduces oil in the filter, hardly any mess whatsoever.
Great video bro. Thanks for the detail vid. Going too do mine today.
Thanks bud, good luck and let me know if you have any questions!!
Did you give rid of your Yamaha boat? And buy this one instead?
I did, and now I have a Supra, my kids are really getting involved with surfing!
@@justinjames1719 So which boat have you enjoyed the most? Miss the Yamaha?
@@tdt1805 I have the 2021 supra sa 450 now and I love that boat but yes I miss the Yamaha the most and love driving the Yamaha the best!!
You’re awesome, thanks for you help! God bless!
great video good transition songs. we'll done
Wow, your garage is huge!
Hey thanks, I like to keep everything I own inside!!
Hopefully you guys didn't leave the trash on the trail? Beer cans, tags, thats two things I saw.
Never do, always seem to be cleaning up after someone! Been going there for years. Thanks for the comment! Hope you enjoyed the video otherwise!
@@justinjames1719 I gave it a thumbs up.
How did you get the nuts on the bottom two screws? Did you use the cup holder opening?
Yes sir
In the battery compartment there’s a board on the right side you take one screw out and you can take that down and reach in through there
Thanks for the video. What is the purpose of having the hose attached if the purpose is to have no water in the motor during oil change?
It’s called running your boat on a fake lake. You gotta warm up the oil before an oil change so it all comes out of the motor if you don’t have water running to your boat it will overheat and hurt the motor.
@@justinjames1719 awesome thanks for answering! Another quick question if you don’t mind. I recently purchased a 19 242x and there’s a switch to the left of the captains armrest (the groove above the ignition), No label indicating what it does. Any idea?
@@ABossIsTalking can you show me a picture?
Awesome video! Very detailed! Thank you! God bless! Ps. You should do a video on winterizing :)
I never winterize mine it always stayed in my shop in above freezing temperature. The only winterization I did was blow the water out of the motors put my batteries on the tinder filled my gas tank up and put blue marine stabil in it and then started my boat up once a month 15 seconds per motor just to get the cylinders lubed.
Great video just quick question should you have put some anti seize on the plugs so they come out easily next time?
Yes absolutely you can do that I change mine out every year so I never have an issue.
No anti seize needed. The plugs are made of a material that won't seize to the threads in the head.
This is a great video. I have the same boat - really fun! No, it's not a 'proper' surf boat, but a 25-26ft 'proper' surf boat is 2 - 3 times, yes times, expensive, so yeah... There's that. So, you can get a decent wave out of these, but you need to the wake booster, and an added bag really helps (in addition to built in ballast - the setup here seems right) and about 10.8 mph, and for sure DEEP water. if you are on a lake or river that is 5ft deep, your wave will suck. I setup my system, was in about 5ft of water - terrible wave, didn't change a thing, but moved to deep water - surf-able wave appeared - amazing.

Good video. Just takes a little experimenting with ballast and wake booster attached. It’s not a pure surf boat, but for the money and versatility, I’ll keep mine. My daughter can surf all day behind it once we figured out the right ballast configuration for her weight.
It does take experimenting but I did finally move onto a real surf boat and it’s amazing still miss Yamaha though!!
Great video. I do mine by myself most of the time so I have an on/off at the end of the hose so I can turn water off from inside boat. I imagine you ended up touching up the oil level after you got enough in the oil filters once the engines ran a while. I take an extra quart with me fist time out as water does a great job of leveling boat. I haven’t been changing my plugs every season, I have read arguments on both sides of that subject, but as you said might as well while you wait on oil to drain . Thx for video.
🔥 👍
Great video man. Very professional. I just bought this same bought in 2019 model. Looks very easy to maintain.
Heck yes you’ll love it! Very easy to maintain! I’m glad the video was helpful! Can’t wait for summer
Nice truck!!
Great Video! Where did you get the spark plug socket with the rubber?
I wasn't able to pump all the oil out. I was only able to get about 2 qts out and it only took 2qts to fill it up. When I removed the oil filter I let the oil drain too. I shine flashlight in the oil tank and it looked empty. What am I doing wrong? It still took only 2qts
I had the same issue. I got less than 2 qts of oil out of mine
That's how much you will get on an oil change on these. You cannot change all 4.8 quarts at once without pulling the motor out. That's why the change interval is set the way it is
Very helpful video Justin, thanks man!! Local shop wanted to charge me $1k+ to do this exact work. Quick question, can you tell me the type of (or link to) pump you used to extract the oil? Thanks again!
www.westmarine.com/buy/west-marine--manual-oil-changer-6-9-quart--11047123 Hey buddy, I’m glad the video was helpful, definitely miss my Yamaha! Let me know if you have anymore questions! Thanks for watching
Looks like you got room for 1 more in that machine..
What size socket did you use for the 140s spark plugs?
You must be close to Spokane, have not been to lake Roosevelt in a few years, I need to get back there
Yes it’s beautiful there we camp there every year. I actually live in Moses Lake, where you at?
@@justinjames1719 nice, we use to been a while. We are in Spokane ua-cam.com/video/QFvfj_SYbII/v-deo.html
Get a on/off valve for the end of the hose to allow you to control the water on/off by yourself. It makes life easier. Good video. Thanks!
Hello Justin. I like your videos. I would like to come in contact with you. This week I am buying the same boat like yours. I want to order the wake booster package you show in your video, but I cannot find it. I live in Fort Lauderdale. Can you help me out please?
Absolutely can you find me on Facebook and message me? Justin James Moses Lake, WA
