Doesn’t help that each rider used a completely different approach and assist settings! I mean: PAS 5 on the mid-drive for most of the journey vs PAS 2 on the hub-drive? While I agree that the different drive types each have their advantages and disadvantages, if you’re going to make a video comparing them, at least use the same power assist settings during the comparison!

the comment from serginlivemendoza is corect. I use to fly RC aircrafts and I do know alot about lithium batteries. Since charging RC's , the chargers on those do balance at the same tie as charging, it makes sense to leave it for time to balance since the standard ebike charger does not balance the batt like a charger on RC's

I live in Vancouver bc.I talked to park rangers. They said riding in ANY PARK, the engine(if you will) is not allowed. bike must be ridden with no power. Also your right when you said 500W max. I have checked(not writen in the book) nothing on a speed limit, but still be safe

i have an ebike with a bafang motor and i and my friends have had good luck with them, i am looking at buying the new swift but have never heard of the motor manufacturer and that mades me hesitant

I'm just curious. How can Biktrix sell 750-watt e-bikes in Canada if the laws state that 500 watts is the maximum? (sans BC and Alberta.) I'd like to purchase one, however, I live in Onterrible and I don't want to drop 5K just to have the bike confiscated by the police.

YOOOOO The minute you said "9-5", I knew I was going to finish. Im a queer jew. My home defense plan includes (but is not limited to) "alexa, home intruder"... which immediately turns off normal lights, turns on high powered strobe lights, locks all electronic doors, and blares 9-5 at maximum volume. The karen neighbors will call the cops if I cant. And if the secondary aspect of my home defense plan fails, I went out listening to Dolly.

A 1.5-2-3 kW direct-drive hub motor would easily outperform a mid-drive in terms of speed and reliability, without the need for a chain or transmission. Mid-drives are really better for hills and rough terrain, but I think that a direct-drive would still be the better choice overall.

This is how I feel, bought a great e-bike thinking I’d use it for work and back, IT REPLACED MY CAR NOW IM SAVING $$$

I was enjoying y’all’s banter while getting some information I should’ve researched before buying my e-bike (though I’ve been too scared to ride it yet). However, when your husband made a Simpsons reference that’s when we all became best friends. My middle son is literally named Bart Mann. I raised my sons watching The Simpsons. My eldest worked at Universal Studios in Orlando for a bit and they wisely put him in a souvenir shop in the Springfield section. If someone needed help he would quote lines and do character impressions while he assisted the customer. Customers would seek out management (in person, phone, and via Universal’s media pages) to let the higher ups know my son needed to be recognized for being the highlight of their visit. I’m proud of all my boys (now men), but knowing my eldest still knows the lyrics and choreography to Troy McClure starring in The Planet of the Apes: The Musical makes me feel like I raised him right

From my own experience, having a 1000W Hub Direct Drive bike and a 750W Bafang Mid Drive I recognized that the Hub Drive uses less current for the same power output and speed. Both bikes have a maximum speed of 30 mph with some additional power from my own pedaling. The only reason to buy a mid drive in my opinion is if you want to use it as a mountain bike on really steep hills. Everything below 15% inclination does the Hub drive as well as the mid drive.

Older people want a throttle for when they need it . That may be a Class 2 bike. Ride it on a Class 1 trail and grandpa gets a ticket . That’s not freedom , not even a little bit. Respect me as you expect me to respect others.
