Wonderful episode! Always learn something new. 🪐
Awesome show! Didn’t get to see it live, but it’s always nice to go back and check these out. Looking forward to seeing that comet in October!
I will be looking out for the Comet!
Another great show. Sorry I missed it live, but the recorded version is just as good!
Mark - When will the interview with John Herrington be seen on Stay Curious?
love this one! xoxox'
Great questions and Mitch had wonderful insights!
I waited about 15 minutes but nothing asked about Gus Grissom
This is a beautiful tribute to Dad (and always to the Space program)! Thank you so much. I love all of the stories and photos, and I treasure each one. What an amazing space community. Dad may be gone, but the dream is very much alive.
Good show Mark😊
Watching now!
Enjoyed his book and looking forward to reading his next book about Apollo 1. Watching it later in the day today.
Fantastic sound effects just like an old cassette player that chewed up the tape repeatedly!
FYI, the sound is what's left after UA-cam studio removed the background music while leaving the commentary. That had to be done due to the original author using some copyrighted classical music. It was originally created by one of our volunteers for use inside the museum. This was long before UA-cam was so popular. The author, who just recently passed away at 93, was very proud that his video was seen by so many. (The fact that the computers can tell the difference is pretty amazing in itself.)
probably the most useless content on the net! shame
You are entitled to your opinion. Please keep in mind that many of our followers are very interested in space history. There are also many many collectors of space artifacts who like to know about opportunities to add to their collection.
That Jupiter launch didn't look like 4320mph to me. Not to mention the amazing close-up footage at 48,000 feet!
Thanks for the shout out guys! Looking forward to being there with you on Monday. We can be “luna-tics”! 😂
Oh yeah
This is what real stuff look like...not fake moon landing
The Shuttle was so magnificent. Just when it was completely figured out it seems it was retired. It would be so nice to have now even for one or two launches a year. Question perhaps you could answer on a future podcast: would an RCC patch fastened over Columbia's damaged tile been possible on orbit?
I picked up so,w shuttle stuff in the last 2 auctions. I’ll have to check this one out too
Watching late today. Hello everyone
7:00 Narrator is quoting 150 inch, 400 inch. What is that? Focal length? I wonder what the objective diameter is? It is the objective DIAMETER that controls resolution.
A good question. Don't have the answer for you,
Hello everyone, been off grid for 6 weeks or so. Very nice to be back, I missed my friends! I see Mark and Marty are doing the incredible job as always. My condolences on everyone’s loss. I didn’t know Karen, but over 20 years is dedication! Just wanted to say”Hello” to Mark and Marty ( hope u remember me now, Marty). Great show, really love this show!
The glue shoes intel technique , allegedly used at the Rolls Royce jet engine plant for metallurgy of the turbine blades in the Nein engine.
My step dad was stationed here when I was young. I got to see SLC 6 with my own eyes! When at school witch was just outside the base when anything got launched we would go outside and watch. Also would watch launches at night out on the coast! Good memories.,.....
I wonder if they would had had issues with foam hitting the orbiter?
Please accept this gift in honor of Karan Conklin. Mitch & Paula Rothman
Mitch and Paula, Thank you so much for your kind donation! Bruce
My all time favorite guest! Mike is such an inspiration, and I hope to meet him someday.
Great program, great interview. Let’s get that quilt to the Smithsonian!
Would he know where the hatch cover that said “COLUMBIA” would be that would be on the hatch in the white room at the pad? And other signs or Columbia stuff?
Thank you
Sorry I missed the show, but watching it now.
Every single person shown on this podcast are certainly heroes of mine!
Atlas able 9c complex 12 September 24 1959 largest explosion at the cape
Very cool! I didn’t realize Marty worked for Grumman during the Apollo program. ❤
The shot at the end with the rover reflecting in Scott's visor has to be a still from the TV cam on the rover, although it is remarkably clear, maybe it was also enhanced?
Thanks for your observation. I don't think anyone here at ASM has the answer without some research.
Thanks for the visit to the Cradle. I am a docent there and know the gentleman who built the Saturn V display. He built the launch tower from scratch, a very talented and kind individual. I’ll let him know that you guys enjoyed his work.
So sorry for your loss
Thank you Dave.
Love to Karen ❤
Yeah it’s Saturday, get up a little later! And the button should be on the live stream!
Ah I bet there is some vodka in there!
Sorry I missed your live show!
Great show!
Yes I do wear mine !
Great to see you wearing my hat I gave you!
Hi Mark
Very annoying sound track.
To avoid copyright issues We had to use Google's AI to remove the original music but leave the narration. That was the result. Not perfect but it allows us to monetize. Please see description.
Just wanted to point out that the first clip (at 53 sec) is of a Martin Matador missile and not a Snark.
Good show guys.
