Hi there great video, very informative. I have a question about the plumbing though. As an example for the rear brakes, are you just running a 3/16" line to the rear and then using a Tee splitter to each of the calipers? This is how I intend to do my setup. My car originally had individual lines to each caliper coming from the ABS but obviously will not be retaining the system.

I enjoyed watching, but I won't be building for a street rod ! I will be building a 5.4 2V for higher torque for an F-250 used for towing so the RPM range of the high revving long duration that's needed when going up inclines under load ! Just a different performance requirement from the same engine, maybe not the most economic way but a very dependable engine that gets the job done!

Thanks for the great info. Im trying to figure out which engine my $300 van has in it. 98 e150 club wagon. Seller said 5.4. The parts i bought fit. Later i did a vin search & it says 4.6 2v. What's confusing me is that mine has spark plug wires & the coils are all at the front of each bank. The boots on the plug end look the same as the COP style. Straight boots not angled. The sticker inside the driver's side door says void + inspected by Washington state patrol.

Do the Trick Flow heads have more spark plug threads than the Ford heads? Common problem with these engines is the spark plugs blowing out due to shallow threads.

GarageguruTv@. Have a question. So I dont know alot of engine rebuilding but Im going to be rebuilding the exact same engine. This engine is going to be put back into my 2001 Ford F250 Superduty as a daily driver and work truck. Durability and dependability is something that I want to achieve in this rebuild but I would like to increase the HP and Torque during this rebuild. Im more than likely going to just have my block bore machined .030 over and I want to try and stay with the same compression ratio. My question to you all would using the trick flow cylinder heads that you used during your rebuild cause any issue with durability or relability. What other advice or info you could provide would be much appreciated

Great video! I was wondering if you had any issues when adding coolant to this engine? I have 4.6l mod motor and I put trick flow heads on it. I had it all together, added oil and spun it with the starter to get oil in the engine and oil leaked from the front of the head on both sides. I sealed the sides of the head and it stopped. So I added coolant and it leaked from the side of the head into the channel and out the back of the motor. I put rtv on the spot that it came out of the head and added more and it all came out the oil pan. So I had to pull it all out and tear it all down again. I think the head gasket was the problem, I used a Ford performance head gasket. Did you have any issues with oil leaks or coolant leaks with these heads?

Hi there. This really enjoyed the videos about the 5.4. I have an old F250 LD that has one that I don't drive anymore. My son wants to turn it into a dedicated hunting/camping 4x4. I have been mystified by the cam gear but this really broke it down into the needed steps. I am wondering if you will be doing the follow up video with the completion of the intake install. Thanks again!

You are supposed to install cam lock tool on both cams BEFORE removing the timing chain. Also it is best before removing the timing chain you lock t he e cams in their proper timing position. This way you won't crash a valves into pistons

You should spend more time at Motorsport events. Top FSAE, Formula 1000, and many other teams use PE ECU’s, Widebands etc with no issues, myself included. This isn’t a plug and play EFI set up for your LS, this is a true Motorsport-grade product that requires a competent builder/racer/engineer to set it up.
