I worked in Royal House for the DHSS. The council spent millions trying to save the place and it got trashed over and over. People weren't coming from the other side of the border to trash it , it was done from within. They smashed all the windows of Royal House because it was DHSS. The reason it was there was because those people needed it the most. It's always the small bad percentage of a community, not another community that destroys the community. I don't suppose being the red light capital of the north East helped much.

My grandad side of the family come from the border and me nana's side grove hill.. i used to go to school over the border ST Christophers only till year 2 and it got knocked down! about 1997.. and I've turned out spot on....

I lived over there til i was 18 when we were forced to move. It was only seemed bad because the counsil made it worse by not helping us with repairs or the they would purposely leave rubbish on fieds for rats and mice to gather. Mallon was a cunt to us

It reminds me of the devastation the US suffered following the recent hurricanes, no house is intact, the shingles are missing and the doors and windows boarded up. It must have been a beautiful place before it was left to rot away. I imagine the streets were crowded with children playing and everyone getting along and helping each other. For that area those days are long gone but I'm sure whatever has replaced it is a monument to what used to be.

I remember when the Tower Green development was built in the mid 80's. I can't believe it's being demolished 25 years later.

A lot of new stuff is being built in Middlesbrough, but Rome wasn't built in a day. St. Hilda's will end up being a private housing estate, the same with Middlehaven (MFC area). Cannon Park is getting turned into a brand spaking new retail park, plus the likes of Grove Hill is finally being knocked down. It's a boom town that is on the up. Finally.

Do you even know what communism is? It's where there is better access to public services for all, and more money invested in education and it bloody well looks like you need that mate. I mean look at the capitalist education system we have today, it is so poor that people like you can't even spell simple words such as "disease" or "prevents" when you come out of it.

Boro is where they get the extras for the zombie movies from, no make up required, due to the polution from all the horrible factorys, its a total shit hole, no doubt locals will defend it, my advice would be to get out more. there are also sex workers in this area, a ton of money should be spent on it to improve it, thats the area not the hookers btw

It didn't look much different to this when the place was fully habited. it was always run down for years and years ..
