Just because the Majority of scholars say something is haram doesn't make it haram if it isn't backed up the clear rulings from The Quran the absolute truth. We certainly have to follow the sunnah of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) with the hadith or how else can you know how to pray or how know the proper manners and way to live life as the Prophet (ﷺ) did. But you cannot make any laws or rulings based on the hadith alone if it doesn't align with what is in The Quran. There is no change of Allah's words within The Quran with no contradictions within it, but the same cannot be said about the Hadith which has many contradictions within it. But I am also not perfect and make mistakes, so if what I am saying is wrong I would ask you brothers to correct me.

But wudu isnt just an external cleansing. But also an internal purification, where we should ideally be reflecting on our sins as they drop off us, ending with the last drops of water, even from beneath the finger nails.

You could argue that wudoo is different because there are many narrations showing that it is an act of worship in its essence, like the narrations that talk about the expiating of sins, or the brightening of the limbs yawm al qiyamah, or the legislation of saying bismillah before starting it. However, I do think the Hanafi view here is valid and very strong. Many times when I hear that the intention is always a condition, I feel it is a far-fetched deduction of the original hadith about intentions. I do think that the hanafis in general need to use this same way of thinking to re-assess their innovated declaring of the intention for prayer.

I am of the same opinion on wudhu, however I live in a country that follows shafii madhab and many, if not all, of ppl live here say if no intension for wudhu then there's no wudhu. So everytime I take a shower, I always say my intension for ghusl and wudhu in my heart, eventhough I'm not required to have ghusl.

Muslim must come back to original islam. That means only and only the quran because the change started with bukhari.
