I was a cook in navy on aircraft carriers cooking for 2000 or more every day and steel beach picnic 's alot work you basically serve 4 meal a day been a meat cutter baker and running main galley unrep is one our hardest days
I was in the airwing on the USS Coral Sea mid eighties working the flight deck with our f-18"s AO here , Good chow was a great morale booster for the whole ship , Thanks for what you do !
I was on the coral sea when in the late 70's when about you
@@user-ii8cs9fm1g I did one med-cruise with cag 13 and my squadron VFA-131 Wildcats sept-87 thru march 88 , Great times and memories !
It looks good ngl 😊
It was!! It's alot easier to make than what it sounds tbh.
We signed up to do a job. Don’t need your sympathy.
No problem 🙂🙂
"yes we do work long, long hours" Welcome to the military. You think the Infantry has time off? 4 to 6 weeks in the field 24/7 buddy. And why does your voice sound like a downed beaten dog? You have any motivation or self respect? You sound like a wimp. Get some backbone and act like the sailor that you are.
I heard you barely have freedom. You don’t get to go explore much!!
CS3 here and we work the least amount of days but we do work longer hours than any other rate
On average how many days a week do you work? @@keyondablackman2678
FSAs? Please! The term is MESS CRANK!
🫶🏻
Delicious 😋
Thank you 🙂🙂
I searched Navy cook, as my dad told me my great grandfather was a ships cook for his whole life. How ironic that your last name is Arteaga as this the town name next to where he was born in Spain.
Is this "cook" school?
Is the imaginary good for me 😂
I was a submarine Quartermaster, a discontinued rate, as QMs are now restricted to surface craft. But as a merchant seaman after getting out I took a break from shipping out as an AB deckhand on large merchant freighters, to work as the 1st mate and chief cook on a larger Feadship motor yacht, or really a 90 footer which today is small for that shipyard in Holland, but I kind of liked being a sea cook because I knew so many recipes my mom had taught me plus as a professional canoe tripping guide up in Canada I had to feed the kids cooking over a wood fire using mostly freeze dried and canned food but also whatever fish we caught. But what I learned in the merchant marine is that CS is one of the best rates for becoming a civilian mariner because you can go straight into the merchant ships as chief cook and skip being steward’s assistant or really dish-washer entirely. And you’re not on the watch-bill so you get to sleep most the night as the Chief Steward is the one who cooks the eggs to order for the crew. The chief steward is really the supply officer who orders all of the food. In terms of the yacht industry you’d be most marketable if you were an ex Engineman or really a Diesel Tech but it’s too late for that as I’m now a retired old fossil. To become a cook in the merchant marine contact the Seafarers International Union, Camp Springs, Maryland to apply to attend their cooking school or else to ship out as a steward’s assistant which probably requires no training but merely a food handlers endorsement on you Mariner’s Document or Z-Card which is issued by the Coast Guard once they’ve seen your transcript of sea service from the navy which is kept on file at the Federal Records Center in St. Louis, MO.
I appreciate these man I’m interested in becoming a CS but there’s not much info out there 💯
What’s the 5 and 2 schedule?
Ayyyy
Ayoooo
Ayo
Dream job, especially on a smaller boat. Being a CS on an aircraft Carrier seems like complete hell
Not really, you are not alone there you have a dozen of cooks in shifts
Consider becoming a CSS ✌🏽
@@2138Dudenot really. He clearly has common sense to know that being a CS on an aircraft carrier is actually hell. Don’t lie to him. It’s literally the dumping grounds for shitbags in the Navy. It is also literally the ONLY job that ANYBODY can get with any ASVAB. The IQ of the average CS is roughly a 7. Majority of the suicide on my ship were people who worked with or as a CS. Shit is a ghetto ass nightmare.
Thank you 🙏 big help
Thank youuuuuuu . U the best
Personal problems. You sound like a fruit. Nobody mentioned it until you said it.
Cs1 your previous student here from A school . Can u do a video on filling out the 1090 using the 1282 step by step . Please . Thank you
Yes ma'am. Video is posted!!!!!
Those guys are losers. Your voice sounds fine to me.
Great vid but don't care what people want do what u want to do if they got a problem with it then they should not watch
The chips look too big , and mexicans should really stop mixing low quality beer in with cooking… hope this helps good luck.
Thanks for the tips! 😀😀😀❤
Salud!
That looks good 👍
Same thing happens with me getting takeout after the grocery store
That tiny bowl is disrespectful 🤣

So good thank you.
Wish you best of luck CS1, sad to see you go.
Thank you I'll see you mam 🫶🏼
Man, you shoulda picked YN! My lady was a CS though.
Everyone knows that Boatswain's Mates are the morale of the Navy. They see us walking through the passageways, with our hand crafted leather sheaths and Marlin Spikes gleaming. They see us heroically heaving around and bringing them happiness in the form of letters, packages and food from the supply ship alongside. They excitedly watch us with anticipation as we moore our ship to the pier in exotic locations across the world. They sing along to the melodiies of our Boatswain's Pipes as we prepare to allow the captain to speak into our microphone. They sleep peacefully in their racks at night, slowly rocked to sleep by the gentle sway of the ship, because they know a skillful helmsman is in control. Boatswain's Mates are the pride of the Navy. Thank you Boatswain's Mates.⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓
QM’s are better

Been following you since A school . Ir math videos are my favorite. Thank you
More videos please!! I’ll be going to boot camp 5/6 and I’m watching sooo much Navy content to prepare myself for what my life will be like for the next few years.
former chef before joining the navy I'm an AG now looking back on it i wish i chose my passion for cooking than getting into the meteorology field. still love what i do but my real passion will always be being a chef.
I feel you. My passion is cooking so that’s why I’m interested in becoming a military cook
