WATCH THIS BEFORE BUYING BED THREADS!
Переглядів 6 тис.2 роки тому
UPDATE 3/16/23 - Ok the duvet cover and sheets are still being used by me and I still love them HOWEVER I did switch out the euro pillowcases (the big square ones). I found that the pocket/envelope closure the fabric wasnt deep enough. BedThreads suggested buying one size up in pillow to make it extra full so I did that but because the fabric that tucks behind and encloses it wasn't long enough...

    I appreciate your review. After seeing all those threads coming out, I will not be ordering linen from BedThreads. The poor stitching quality irks me. And for the price, you can get discount codes from Brooklinen, Silk & Snow, Quince to even out or even beat their price. Even Marupe Linen from Etsy only uses French seams and no overlocking. I hope they do better with their craftsmanship, this is disappointing, I really considered them because I love their color options. But it’s enough to bug me. Thanks for doing this review!

    I have the lavender set and it feels soft to touch but scratchy to sleep on. First night. I hope it really does get softer with every wash. Otherwise im going to be very disappointed since it's $400 plus. I'm trying to like it but the fitted sheet feels so rough.

      @Everyday Avant Garde yeah I did. Still there was a lot of lint and dust. The weather hasn't been great. I will wash it a few times more when I can hoping that helps. It is actually cooler I do like that. I found the fitted sheet too scratchy so I'm using a regular cotton fitted sheet till I wash it a few more times. Hopefully I love it. The colour and look is great. Waiting for the buttery feel lol

      Quince has a whole set for $288 for queen set. Just FYI. I have 4 sets. Good quality. And a 365 day return policy. Poor stitching really irks me especially if you pay a premium for linen. I returned my Avocado linen sheets because it shrank unevenly and the stitching was atrocious.

    Interesting... I'm a hot sleeper and i find linen really uncomfortable to sleep in. cotton feels constantly cool on my skin, where as the linen absorbs everything and it just feels like I'm rolling around in my own sweat.

    Really curious about how well the fitted sheet stays on and whether the duvet cover has any sort of fasteners in the corners to hold a duvet in place.

      The fitted sheet stays on well. There’s been a couple times where it popped off but it doesn’t happen often at all. Could also get those suspender straps they sell to secure them better. And yes the duvet cover has strings in the corners and the top center to tie onto the duvet. ☺️

    Never knew about linen frequency. Thanks for sharing that…it is incredible. With that knowledge…what blanket should we be using? Does using a cotton blanket diminish the 5000mhz of the linen? What is the frequency of down? We have been using cotton sheets and wool blanket but if I get linen then I’m at a loss. Tried searching frequency of down but found nothing.

    • @everydayavantgarde1291
      @everydayavantgarde1291 2 роки тому

      If you already have wool then you're good! It has just as high of a frequency. If you want to try linen as well my suggestion would be to use the wool in the colder months and switch it out for linen in the warmer months, as long as you're not using them together they don't cancel each other out. This is an excerpt from the article I read... "According to this study, the human body has a signature frequency of 100, and organic cotton is the same - 100. The study showed that if the number is lower than 100, it puts a strain on the body. A diseased, nearly dead person has a frequency of about 15, and that is where polyester, rayon, and silk register. Nonorganic cotton registers a signature frequency of about 70. However, if the fabric has a higher frequency, it gives energy to the body. This is where linen comes in as a super-fabric. Its frequency is 5,000. Wool is also 5,000, but when mixed together with linen, the frequencies cancel each other out and fall to zero. Even wearing a wool sweater on top of a linen outfit in a study collapsed the electrical field. The reason for this could be that the energy field of wool flows from left to right, while that of linen flows in the opposite direction, from right to left. " They didn't mention cotton cancelling out linen or it being opposite direction of frequency but they did mention it should be organic linen to have a higher frequency. As far as down goes I have no idea and haven't read anything on that either. For personal reasons I did not want to use down as it can be hard to find down that is ethically sourced and also I live somewhere where having that amount of heat would be too much for the climate. I opted for a down alternative made from eucalyptus which I am also unsure of the frequency. On the other hand I am a big proponent of using what you have as long as possible as its better for the environment. I wouldn't worry about mixing fabrics too much so long as you aren't mixing linen and wool. Based off the numbers they gave, I think using cotton whether organic or not shouldn't affect it much when mixed with a high frequency fabric such as linen or wool as they cancel each other out because they are the same frequency. Since cotton and more other materials are a much lower frequency its cancellation potential would be quite low I imagine (simply based on the mathematics of it). So yeah I think what you're already using sounds great, I wish I was a scientist and knew more about this because its so fascinating but nonetheless its a great point on being mindful of the materials we put on our body and how they affect our energy field. Thanks for watching and I appreciate your comment Enjoy the day! 💕 Joelle aka Everyday Avant Garde

    Can i ask where you got the supplies for making them? because I wanna make some and I saw some of the supplies on Amazon when I looked awhile back I wanna make hypoallergenic ones cause some of my friends have an allergic reaction to earrings if you could get back to me thank you :)

    • @everydayavantgarde1291
      @everydayavantgarde1291 3 роки тому

      Hi there! 👋 The hooks are from amazon I searched for "stainless steel hypoallergenic" and found a variety pack that came in silver, gold, and bronze. Make sure to find one with lots of good reviews! Cheaper earring hooks make my ears irritated but the stainless steel hypoallergenic ones I haven't had any issues with. I do have a friend though who says even hypoallergenic ones irritate her ears so if you want to it be even more high quality I would recommend searching for "sterling silver" hooks. Plus the more high-quality of materials you use, the higher you can charge for the product (if you plan on selling them)... The jump rings that connect the bear to the hook, I believe I got from Michaels and I'm not sure if the rings are hypoallergenic but since they don't actually touch my ears I haven't had a problem with them. I do find that most jewelry supplies from Michaels are usually labeled "nickel free"... The gummy bear charms I bought in bulk from AliExpress and the rubber earring backs I bought from Amazon. I hope that answers your question, if there's anything else you'd like to know I am happy to help. Thanks for watching my video, I hope you have a fantastic day! 💕

      I soak em in the sink with hot water, a splash of dish soap and some epsom salt. After this some of the labels should peel off with no issue...for stubborn ones I take off with a green scubby sponge and scrape the remaining residue off with my fingernails. Tbh lately I've just been recyclings the more stubborn ones and just keeping the ones that clean easily. Also I'm taking note of which labels come off better so I know which ones to buy in the future. 😂
