Some cars have a thing in their computer where when the engine temperature is cold, the RPM cold star will be a little high and then it idles down after the engine warms up my 2007 Kia Sedona cold star RPM was about 2100 RPM then it would idle down when it was warm up. The idle would be like 700 or something but yes, some cars do have that.

Its normal. Its metant to get your oil up to temp, then it drops to 700 -800 after a few mins

I know this is old. But I have a 2023 Tacoma, wind noise is driving me nuts. Dealer says it’s normal. The driver side door is clearly not aligned perfectly. Will this method work?

For the ones that keep saying this is normal your wrong and right. What he is saying is before his car at cold start up was always 1400 rpms then drops as it warms but know at cold start its 2000 rpms so no this isnt normal.

What am I missing here? First, you loosened the striker....and then just retightened it? or did you move it?...because it looks like its aligned with the tape the same. Am I missing something?

Unfortunately, you’re wrong, you don’t have to replace the tensioner pulley. You don’t have to remove the engine mount or jack up the oil pan with a jack, that’s only if you want to replace the idler tensioner arm.. To replace only that tensioner pulley wheel, simply use the special socket and move it off the car and then replace it. Problem solved no more squealing or spinning pulley.

The noise sounds like it's coming from the water pump pulley and not the alternator pulley.

Everyone please note that not all toyota corolla have the same bolt. Mines has a torx bolt needs a t50 torx. Please check yours before you buy the special socket that he's using.

My door is perfect on the lower half but has a gap like this towards the top. If it do this won’t the bottom half be too far in?

My 1990 jaguar door panels rattle a bit when in reverse or neutral. Hope a tighter door will fix it.

That's how all cars works, rpm high at cold start, then drop when engine temperature increase, it controlled by the throttle control valve. If rpm stays low at cold start then increases as engine temperature increases then it a problem.
