I can't really say much on the ENG dub of Deltora Quest because I only seen clips of it. However I have seen it in the original Japanese which means it's uncensored, a different OST, a 13 EP filler arc that was never ENG dubbed & they play a Delta Goodrem song in the last opening credits in said filler arc which is still the craziest thing to know about. Also Delta, Deltora I see what they did there.

Now that I think about it, Dain was so sus from the begining but in a way you would never consider him an enemy, especially when you are reading/watching for the first time, cause of his sweet talking and the fact that he literally put himself in danger to gain their trust, but also working against them the whole time. Those little details that I see every time I rewatch the anime is reason I love the story so much! Plot twist after plot twist in the end is chef's kiss 😚 The best villains are the ones you never suspect. Because of that I have to love Dain tbh, he did his job very good.

This was my favourite book out of the first trilogy and I loved watching these episodes on dvd as a kid

For some reason as a kid watching these “filler” episodes they didnt bother me as much. Its still really baffling to me that they would change the reason why Jasmine was cured from the poison last episode as well. I think I’ll just delete that from my memory 😂 While I do love this anime and Jasmine being the main attraction for me, I do wish theyd gone a bit more PG-13 with it I feel like thatd suit the books tone much better.

Starring from halfway in the book is a better idea I like what they do later with Leif telling Jasmine the story of Endon. It makes more sense than what the book did. Jasmine did grow up in the Forest of Silence after all and wouldn't know anything about Dels past before the Shadow Lord

Lief in episode 4 while talking to Kree: Afraid of a little thunder? What a baby! Lief in episode 27: gets scared by a thunder 😅 I'm so mad that my favourite episodes are the ones that have been changed the most 😭 WHY?? I always thought that Prin's "magical tears" were stupid part of the plot but now that I know it's not cannon I'm relieved cause ruby makes much more sense! Btw, are you happy with the Gnomes and their design or are they different in books, like the Kin? Can't wait for Friday! ❤

I always interpreted Prin's tears in the anime as adding a little more liquid to the Lilies of Life, so that there could be just that little bit more for Jasmine. Still a ridiculous change, though. I don't know why they took out the Ruby's time to shine (pun intended). 😅

I never thought of "fairest of them all" to literally refer to fairness, but that makes so much more sense than the "fairness" of her looks, especially when taken in context with the queen desiring Snow White's heart! Love the analysis of the characters of the 7 dwarves, so much insight there. Would you consider doing an analysis of Mirror Mirror? Its a slightly changed live-action version of the Snow White story. I found it hilarious, but wonder whether you could help unearth some deeps beneath its shallow surface.

I've been waiting for you to do this film! Love the way you have taken this classic and reshaped it as a story of hope and faith married with drive and a determination for self-betterment. Indeed, there is something about Cinderella that is absolutely charming, you are just drawn to her character, proving thus that she is more than a pretty face. Also the concept of receiving something different (on the face of it) from what you had originally striven for, but is better suited for your needs is such a powerful reminder for all of us in our daily lives. Like Hajar (great comparison point btw!) we need to continue working toward acheiving our goal and accept the opportunities and blessings that come our way, even if they are not packaged in the paper we wanted. Are you going to analyse the sequels to Cinderella as well? I remember being obsessed with the 3rd film (the second was forgettable) because it focused on the redemption of Anastasia. I would love to hear your take on that one!

This made me get in touch with my inner Cinderellas! So many things to talk about with this story. That big social event (aka the european dance ball) used to showcase. The sisterly relationships and the important roles they play in making a community. What is deemed as success and happiness for an adolescent in finding someone to make a family with..and many many more Another great review. So many stories in one. So much food for thought.

Yesss, my favourite part of the quest - the one and only Dread Mountain! I love kins and gnomes, they are so cute and the mystery about Doom is really interesting. The end of episode 26 is so creepy. I would give everything to be able to watch this for the first time. I actually can't understand colour changes, like what's the point? 😅 I didn't know that kins are brown but now that I do it pisses me off 🙄 I've read DQ 2 and just couldn't imagine Lief with dark hair. Jasmine's hair is kinda fine I guess. I mean it's curly and not that light so yeah 😂

Btw you asked why are her children outside her territory, well I do not know what happened to them in book 3 after Thaegan died, but in anime I think they were allowed to go wherever they want cause every territory that Thaegan had under her control was free, so for the children every part of Deltora was kinda the same so it didn't really matter where they are 🤷‍♀️ But as you already said, in this filler episodes they were really desperate to just write something, literaly anything and it didn't make much sense but I still enjoyed watching 🤷‍♀️

It is for kids. I watched it a lot as a child. I am 32 now and when I was a kid I grew up watched it again and again and again I LOVED it was one of my favourite Disney movie. Still is.

My dagger's gone!" Whereas, in the book, she doesn't say anything and only speaks up when she thinks Lief has found it. I feel like book!Jasmine is much more reserved and guarded than anime!Jasmine, and this was a very striking example of that. Anyway, great review! I love your content, particularly your Deltora content! :D Did not expact a math lesson, but I enjoyed it. I'm terrible at math (I'm more of a language person), but I do find it fascinating. As someone who used to be heavily into competitive Pokémon battling, I'm very familiar with probability and statistics biting me in the ass. XD

Would love to see more anime content explored through this sort of lens! Also, if you like TPN, could I interest you in Shadows House? It has slower pacing compared to TPN but goes deeper into the concept of free will and the duality/nuances of human nature. They also manage to stick to the source material for season 2 which is really when things begin to thicken.

Not a big fan of TPN but I love how you've extracted the essence of each character in revealing the parralels between that dystopian 'utopia' and ours. Lets hope that the Kronas of today's society drown out the acts of the Isabellas and help turn the tide so that our children can break free.

I don't want to spoil anything, but let's just say that in the next two episodes you will be so annoyed with Barda's and Lief's stupidity 😂 cause Jasmine definitely was! Both are filler episodes so it will be interesting for you not to know what will happen next and those episodes are so funny to me 😆 can't wait for you to see them ❤
