Logan Sowell can you make a video for beginners because I can't understand what you are trying to teach me. I have Meinl cymbals and they are 18" and I use bandannas and I want to be able to flip in and out with control and flip up in the air and flip with both hand to the side. I would really appreciate the help please.

yah this was some help
Uhhhh
I heard a story from our cymbal tutor....someone didn't move their thumb out of the way and dislocated AND relocated his thumb consecutively using this technique.
Wow, awesome! I tried out for Tates Creek Indoor Ensemble last year but was cut because my flips were too slow. This video helped a lot, and I've been working really hard to get my flips faster this year.
Helpful, I'm trying to learn cymbal flips as a freshman, helps me show off because none of my superiors know how.
Is that an SOA Delta?
te sigo desde colombia hace mucho tiempo tambien soy platillera y gracias por toda tu auda
dude what on earth are "Nerf cymbals" ?
God bless you for making this video haha
Unfortunately I don't own any cymbals... So I cant make any videos right now
tutorial on buckets???
This video was really helpful thanks :)
glad you enjoyed it!
What kind of straps are those?
they are just standard Zildjian straps
Hey ive been watching your videos today because i am joining my high schools marching band next year and they said they need a cymbal marcher and i was like i can do it so im currently learning marimba and cymbals and they said i need to know flips and such and your videos are just great. you actually know what your doing:)
I've been looking everywhere for more explanations of how to do this, specifically the catch. Every time I've tried it, I can never control well enough how it lands in my hand. Sometimes it just goes too far, but usually it just lands off-center from my hand (my pinky ends up on the bell, the rest of my hand to the side). How can I stop that and catch it more firmly? Is it just a matter of practicing more, or am I doing something wrong?
I was wondering how you kept your cymbals looking nice when you were at X, like what kind of polish did you use?
My high school band is on its way to Marshall this Saturday after a competition at spring valley I might try these out during practice tomorrow to see if the other cymbal likes the idea we have a 14 count rest we might pull some of these off on "Saturn the ringed planet" it's a awesome song and if you don't mind looking up our band it's pshs1234 thanks for the tips
thanks this really helped me for compitions
Im in middle school and im in drumline but I cant get most of these right like I keep messing up as in they don't land right.
Thank you so much!! This helping me for visual stuff for my schools drumline! Great video!!!
What kind of straps do you use? I am working with a percusion ensemble and the girls who are playing have very small hands and the cymbals wiggle around. Any thoughts?
thanks for the video. Ill be teaching cymbals this summer, so this video was a great reference
How tight should my cymbal straps be when I'm marching?
dog fish head...haha, miss ya man, hope all is good! Good stuff as always! My East line gets down on stuff like this! They finally learned how to make up their own arm strength warm-ups and they look cool, I should video tape and send it to you. Stay up man!
In my line we call it the Cymbal Game. Our section leader starts, then the second determines the count structure how many counts it will take. Then you have to hold it until it comes back around with the new movement or pose. It's fun and it's challenging at times depending on the tempo.
I have a couple questions! 1. What size cymbals are you using in this video? 2.) i just finished my first season in my high school line, and I noticed that I got way more bruises than any of the other girls in my line.Do you or have you ever gotten bruises from cymbals? and 3. How long have you been playing cymbals?
Unhooking and Rehooking
nice video, im in a drumline and we do these. i was wondering why this looked so familiar. we call them PCCs. it was because our tech learned them while he was at PCC for the honor band
Love the cymbals!
Also known as "Figure 8's" because your hand goes in the shape of an 8.
Around 7:00 Minutes... just initiate movement on & of 4. I play Cyms too and teach a world class cym line... that what I teach. Initiating and squeezing on the & count before makes 1 on time. I actually do that on the basic flips too. Nice vids man!
Could you do a video on clean sizzles and sizz. sucks? My sizzles always sound so choppy and I've tried numerous times to fix it but without an available instructor who knows what their doing, and tons of videos demonstrating but not showing how to, it's hard to get it right.
Love rhythm x you guys are awesome! Do you guys use gloves of any sort? I'm looking for something for my line.
haha thanks, I'm glad you are finding these vids helpful. If you have any questions feel free to ask me and check out my other videos
I'm marching cymbals for a newly found open class group and your videos really helped. I'm making the big, awkward jump from marching outdoor Bari sax to indoor cymbals and it's taking some getting used to but I'm enjoying it a lot already! I dig the shirt by the way.
Ohhhh, yeah I've done that, no big deal it's just a sprain. You'll be fine

Seriously? Like actually broken? Like in a splint?
Unfortunately I don't specialize in that area of cymbals. I don't know how to perform that technique.
thanks bro. . u really helped me a lot !!! can you make a video on how to do spinning. . ahm just like in the drumline movie. .
This is great. Thanks!
can i do this with 20" sabian pro??
My advice to you is to watch A LOT of videos on you tube, just fill your mind call things cyms and you'll begin to see what works where. Message me if you have any other questions
You are quite welcome
thank you
