Stop The Clickbait! The Car Market Will Not Crash

That's not a crash, that's a 5x gain. Opinion is always subject to change as more data comes out. But the data today does not support a "MARKET CRASH". Interior LED Install FAST and EASY! Toyota 4Runner
I blame the demise of the wagon on the EPA failing to impose the same emissions and fuel efficiency standards on cars, SUVs, and minivans, instead of classifying SUVs as light trucks. I resent the lack of affordable station wagons, having owned four over the years: 1976 Ford Pinto, 1988 Dodge Aries K, 2001 VW Passat, and 2016 VW Golf Sportwagen. We still own the latter two and have no near plans to replace either one. Don't laugh about the Pinto -- I was a starving grad student at the time, and the wagon had an additional crucial 9 inches of crush space at the rear, compared to the up-in-flames runabout. Likewise, 1988 was by far the best model year for the K-cars, with most of the earlier bugs worked out. Mine was admittedly underpowered, but it was trivial to work on and almost trouble-free for the 13 years we owned it. Both the Pinto and the Aries had the endearing quality of a liftgate opening width exceeding 48" (48.5 and 51, respectively), which was great for hauling sheets of drywall or plywood. The current fleet is superb. I still think the B5/5.5 Passat wagon is the most perfectly sized and configured car ever offered on the US market. The Golf is more fun to drive, but lacks in rear seat legroom and cargo space, by comparison.
Good video bro
I'd rather have a Jeep. 😂
This is a great video, I used it to help understand what plugs and wires go where and what they are for, much appreciated. Great job, cheers!
In the US wagons are for reach people. Outback is the only affordable option which is suck
The J90 Prado also had a 3.0 turbo diesel. Its a great engine. And a great rig.
I got the sr5 and building off that
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience and advice. This is a terrific video, comparing all models and exactly what I was looking for. Very much appreciate your expertise.
so the off road wheels are diff than oem?
This is so awesome thanks for this man! Unbelievable that Toyota does this these days. Back in the day you had 2 or 3 versions with options and that was it!
Thanks for taking the time for putting this video together. I think it is a good overview of the Land Cruiser evolution. I do believe you went a little "light" on the FJ40 series importance. IMO it is what many people think of when they think of Land Cruisers. (Dating myself I am sure) Either way. good effort.
I literally just purchased a trd pro and then i get this video, I'm glad i read the comments though. No regrets.
I was surprised to see the 4runner and Tacoma mentioned for shared features and engines in some years, as well as the Lexus counterparts, and no honorable mention for the FJ Cruiser. It shares most of its underpinnings with the Prado and GX of its year, and ran from 2007 all the way to 2022 in some countries with only a recent discontinuation. It also carries the original styling and part of the chassis code as it's model name. Great video and very informative though!
great-thx
I love my KZJ78. She’s my daily driver
I’ve sold custom wheels for 17 years and when it come to black wheels I’ve got 2 important things to say: A. Do whatever you want, it’s your money and you rig. Screw the haters B. Satin is the only way to go. Gloss is sexy but immediately dirty thanks to the static that wheels create. Dirt and brake dust literally are attracted to your wheels. Matte is cool when it’s fresh but looks gross and faded after a bit. It’s like that old Metallica shirt that’s been washed 100 times but you can still see the greasy chip stains. SATIN IS ALWAYS SATIN. Clean or dirty, it’s always satin. The problem is that there’s an embarrassing amount of manufacturers who don’t know the difference between Matte and Satin so buyer beware.
Nice giant schnauzer, I miss mine dearly. Thanks for the video, super helpful
Got the EX-L literally a week ago. So far everything is great. I just wish Civics were smaller like they were in the 90s to about 2016.
Leather seats suck bad. I’m Happy my ex is cloth not leather
Picked up a 2023 TRD pro, Solar Octane, with less than 4K miles last month for 10k under the list for a new 2024 TRD Pro. Feel very lucky!
I have a 2012 grand touring. It looks like a mono style steering wheel but it says Mazda on the horn cap and has red stitching cool looking though😮
Start from 3:17, you deserve more subs and likes.
I bought a 2022 Pro for MSRP and am very happy with it. No regrets
My ex 2024 trim is totally different here, comes with 158hp-2.0l and 16 inches rims and only 1 usb port at front but 2 at back. Expect everything same
I love these wheels. Mine is 2016 with the silver on the inside. I think it looks so much better than the black inside. The all black looks great too.
I have civic sport. I feel like i made wrong decision after putting 10k down. Paying 500$ a month plus over 200 in insurance...for what 7 years? Yes dude im paying like 50k for it.
You didn’t mention mine 105 series It’s basically an 80 chasis with the 100 body Solid axle front and rear
Great video. Thank you.
Pro all day!
I bought a 2024 TRD Off Road that the dealer had installed Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT tires, and TRD Pro wheels. I didn't know that much about the different trim levels at the time, and there were very few choices at the time. All in all the OR was probably the best choice for me, but I would have bought an ORP if I knew then what I know now. I went with Katzkin leather heated seats and Bilstein 8122/8100 suspension, and ended up with a great rig for my needs. I don't miss anything the Premium trim would have added.
I’ve always ended up going back to a base TRD off road trim. Couldn’t justify the huge gap with what Pros are going for.
I have been considering the 4Runner v Lexus GX. What are viewer's thoughts on the GX needing premium gas therefore adding to the long term cost for the GX?
I got the RF Club in white, and it's beautiful. Catches people eyes and fun to drive.
17:00 this is not a J70 light. It is just the short wheelbase version of the most recent 70 heavy duty series.
I'm also in CO. With about a $35k budget today, would you recommend a used 4Runner or used GX460 right now? Or, do you think there's not enough value in used at the moment and it's worth spending more to get a 2024 new? Any dealers around here you recommend?
Not the easiest question to answer. Definitely a subjective choice based on your needs and preferences. Note that with the GX460 I've never driven one, so I can only make a comment based on the specs and what people have said online. This really comes down to how you plan on using this vehicle. Is it going to be dedicated to off-roading and overlanding? Or will it primarily be a daily driver with some weekend warrior trips to the mountains? Daily Driver with weekend warrior trips - The GX460 wins. This is the boat I'm in these days, and if I could trade by 4runner for a GX460 for no cost I would do it. With a wife and kid my 4runner has turned into a family hauler with light off-roading in the mountains. As a result I wish I had the V8 with a 6 speed transmission instead of the V6 with a 5 speed in the 4runner. I would also make a bold claim that 99% of 4runner owners would be better served by a GX460, because 99% of 4runner owners never crawl rocks. But the negatives - worst fuel economy and I think it recommends premium fuel. Also the rear hatch swings out instead of up. And the window does not roll down for a dog. Now for true dedicated off-roading the 4runner still wins. I believe I read the 4runner has better approach angles and better customization with aftermarket modifications. But again I think less than 1% of 4runner owners actually need those benefits. Now to answer your question about used, I checked autotrader and the options for a GX460 is more limited today compared to a year ago when I made this video. But there are still some deals for the 460. There's a few in the Denver area for 35k with under 75k miles. As for the 4runner, there's hundreds in the Denver area, with plenty under 35k. If I were in your shoes I'd answer the question first of what kind of driver will I be. Daily driver with some offroading in the weekends? Or a true dedicated overlander? And then once I answer that question I would test drive both vehicles to see if the 4runner ride quality bothers me at all. Also the used market doesn't scare me at all, I would not buy New. My 4runner is 2016 with 100k miles and it runs like a clock. Not a single thing has gone wrong with it, and I am NOT a meticulous owner when it comes to maintenance. As a result if I see a service history and carfax for any used 4runner and gx460. I would feel very confident that it would last a long time.
Thankyou for this. Does the Grand Touring have extra sound deadening in the car or is that just a myth?
It's funny how happy people are with KDSS. So useless. Makes no difference but pissing of every mechanic
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to make it.
Nice comprehensive coverage. The LX is all I need, but that bigger infotainment and MPG of the EX-L makes it a tough choice.
Has to be Limited model for full time 4 wheel drive.
Has to be Limited for me as I want full time 4 whell drive.
Honda isn’t the type of company to let you buy let’s say a sport trim and just pay a little extra for leather seats? (Considering you’re not looking to get any of the features, more of a custom build) You have to get the touring to get them?
TRD OR has a manual 4 wheel drive shifter.
Hi there, need advice on choosing the right honda civic
I drive a 92, same color of course.
The debate begins at Soft top or RF ! $3400 to $3600 new difference is hard to understand for the RF premium. Oh it looks better from the side - yea it also blocks your side vision. The soft top models are how the 1st Miatas came. The truth is the ND soft tops have a hard shell that extend over the roll bars making them lighter & faster overall because the RFs are top heavy. The soft tops are quieter top down than the RF which many people don't understand. Both cars have basically the same filtered drainage systems & its a good idea to avoid parking under any trees. Owner of a 2016 Club soft top so I've already been thru what could possibly go wrong. For the RF money difference the Club with the Brembo brakes / BBS wheels & Recarro seats is the way to go for enthusiasts.
This was the worst driving slowest sport car I ever tested. I hated every second of driving it. It was terrible
Your a zombie !
stop buying this "overlander" bullsht, it's an overpriced scam.
Good informative video
