Chapel Porth Beach, Cornwall. May 27 2024.
Had a quick trip to Chapel Porth Beach on May 27, 2024.
Took a load of pics, and this short video. Beautiful area, beautiful green water, stunning.
Cornwall, one of the most beautiful areas, in the world!
Video uploaded to share with friends, however, I thought I'd open it up for anyone else who may be interested.

Back on the road (or pavement) after some not great weather! *A Scooters Eye View of Penrose Walks.* One of my favourite places to go, and one of the reasons I ever considered getting a scooter in the first place, was so I could venture back down to Penrose Walks, a stunning, beautiful nature trail that links Helston with Porthleven. I've been down there several times already since getting the ...

Testing the GoPro Hero 10 Black again for the second time. The first time the battery drained fast. This time I attached a power bank to the GoPro, to see if the camera would run off the power bank while recording. It seems this was enabled in a firmware update somewhere along the way (previously, apparently, you'd have to remove the internal battery to do this) Somewhere along the way (after t...

*A scooters eye view of Helston!* Just testing a GoPro Hero 10 Black for the first time, mounted to a mobility scooter! Drove through a park, down to the boating lake here in Helston, did a lap around there, and then came back up through the town. Testing settings for image stabilisation, mics, quality etc, but also sharing a Sunday ride around Helston, Cornwall.

Flora Day, May 5th 2023. BBC Spotlight evening report. Unfortunately Spotlight made a combined report, from Helston on Flora Day, but mainly discussing troubles in the hospitality sector, and how things like having three bank holidays in May, the Coronation and, of course, Flora Day can help trade. They showed VERY little of Flora Day itself. A bit of a waste of time sending someone down here t...

Flora Day, May 5th 2023. BBC Spotlight Lunchtime report, very short. The lunchtime report is only a short broadcast, and today they were covering election news, so hopefully the evening report will feature a longer Flora Day article. If so, I shall post that, later. Just sharing so friends, family, and anyone else who doesn't live in the South West region can see a little bit of Flora Day. EDIT...

Red Dead Redemption 2 Cornwall Discussion Around Camp Fire
Переглядів 456 років тому
Heading towards the campfire, I heard my fellow gang members discussing Cornwall! Not the fellow in the game, but the place, beautiful Cornwall. Of course, the guy who was discussing Cornwall was Mr Trelawny. There are so many mentions of Cornwall in the game, as well as Cornish names, that I believe someone from Cornwall, or someone who really loves the place was involved in the storywriting, ...

Caught a glimpse of Ultimate Video. . . I used to spend ages in there when I was younger 😀 think there was an Ultimate Video at Porthleven too.
We've got friends in helston you might know them Mr and Mrs Cook
Me and my mates were in school when this was done great video mate
I was there. Absolutely magical . LONG may it continue. Thank you to EVERYONE who organised and took part. Unforgettable experience. Just had tears running down my face at times. No, not ashamed to admit it.Thank you HELSTON ❤❤
That would of been about 1988. I wasn't there in 89. I'm the one that was coming out of the lower building (behind hardware). Where Steve Gratten was in charge of the stationary cupboard.
Myself and my daughters travelled from Luton, to see this. Absolutely brilliant. Thanks so much Cornwall! Its a MILLION Miles from Luton.
*Promosm* 💪

Never realized Helston was so big. Nice steady camera; what was it?

The only guys i've seen fairly recently from my class of '84 are Justin Ford & Neil Smith and that was over 10 years ago. I did a Facebook search for the ones i remember and Angie Tremain, Ian Ulyatt, Rob Wescomb, Radnour Acton-Page, Nick Clark & Neil Smith are there!
what music is playing???
I have just started a Facebook group for the Cornwall ITeC :-) facebook.com/groups/360155847675179/
You caught a cracking shot of my late father in law, he died in 2003 so it was really nice to see him there...
Tony ! :)
Nice to read some comments from other people who went to ITeC. I too have great memories of the place, and for years after the place closed down we used to have yearly meetups in the Daniel Arms. No internet back then, and no mobile phones (for the masses, anyway) so the simple rule was to meet up at Midday on the first Saturday of each December, and well into the 90s this happened, though slowly less and less people turned up. Yes, I too used to disappear off to the Daniell Arms at lunchtimes... in fact I'm in this video (embarassingly, and still 16 years old) returning from the pub after lunch, heading into the middle training rooms... the Hollerith IIRC... sticking my finger up at the camera for catching me coming back late (in the blue jacket at about 5:08) It's also sad to see the place looking like this. This video was made not too long before the place was shut down, and you can see they'd already stripped the paint off the walls to prepare for whatever was coming next. I did pop back to Truro a couple of years ago, purely to pop into the old ITeC grounds for a look around, and then into the Daniell arms for a pint or two to reminisce with another ex-ITeC member. I do still have my old ITeC 5 1/4" disks in a box here, and for years I've been hunting around for a working 5 1/4" drive to read them again. I know I have an old Wordstar document on there with a list of all the people I went with, and even their landline numbers at the time. I used to call them in the first year or so after ITeC closed to get the yearly reunion started before we just arranged to meet on that first Saturday of December. One day we'll have to do that again. I'd love to hear from some of the staff as well. Cheers guys. Rignoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!
Yes I remember it well... too well. Hard time remembering all the names but the faces.... oh yes. :-) Thanks for posting whoever you are, there were a lot of good times to be remembered. Would love to know what happened to a lot of you, I'm sure after all those years of training it wouldn't be to hard to find me on the web. Cheers and all take care...
+phill harvey I was in the training team, friends with Fenton, Kelly and others. I remember that Fenton was really into surfing and moved away somewhere. Any idea with happened to Kelly?
+Chris Prowse Hi Chris, yes I remember you well. Hope all well with you bud. Unfortunately I have no idea what happened to Kelly or any of the groups that passed through the 'fun house'.
Phill, you gave me a lift back to Truro from Porthtowan back in June '84 i think it was as my racing bike was nicked from the back of the Commodore Inn that night. I had to kip in the bus shelter till i woke up after the booze wore off from the freezin cold then wondered around till i recognised you lot parked up on the beach sleeping heavily then asked someone who awoke on the top of your car if i could get a lift! :) You gladly agreed thankfully and drove me back to the city but not before you had your breakfast at Smokey Joes at Blackwater. The police eventually found the bike all battered and mangled in the vicinity but taught me a lesson to use a cycle lock in future. Hope your keeping well Phil and still enjoying life!
I also loved my time a Cornwall ITeC around 89. Recognise +Marie Vougwill and Adrian Greenwood, and of course Martin Thompson and Linda Sandercock with Kevan in charge. There was also Phil Harvey who taught hardware. I remember Fenton Tyrrell, David Mann, Charlotte Auberson, Jo Hemms and Kelly Fitzgerrald. Those were the best of times.
i went there !! was a laugh ! always remember the music that was pumped in to the class room ! jive talkin by the bee gees every bloody morning !!!!
@MrGullyJimson Kevan was still in charge when I was there between 88-89, when the place closed down. Yes, Adrian you obviously recognised from the video, and we also had Linda who used to tutor the Office section.... using Wordstar on MS-DOS 2.1. Those were the days ;) I'm also surprised about the lack of infos online, and find it a shame, because I had some real good laughs there, with some very interesting people.
Thanks for posting, I was at the ITeC from 83 to 86 I think and this has brought back some memories - Adrian Greenwoods (?) cigars for one. When I was there Kevan Rudling was the boss and Martin Thomson was his deputy, were they still there when this was filmed ? I've been surprised at the lack of information online about the ITeC. Thanks again :)
Good Times 80)
