@@the80srevengeband, I've had a look at my archives, unfortunately I only have the video you viewed, no documentation. The "Marimba" is of course the DX7 factory preset, I used one of the choir presets on the Emulator ( I think there were 4 in total ), shouldn't be difficult to locate, search choir. As for the Juno 60, I recreated the sounds. for example, the strings and brass i would have selected one of the presets and adjusted until i have happy with the sound. The synth bass took me a while to get right. Follow my presets on the video and you should be able to recreate the sounds. I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

It is. I'm a novice having fun. I know very little about music. That's why I know use FL Studio. It's more precise.

It certainly was. I own a Yamaha DX7 and a Roland Juno 60. I bought these to learn how to play. I'm always off key, hence using FL Studio.

@@platos8397 Well, those two synths are the blue print for ALL of the monster hits of the 80s decade and beyond. The warmth of those two synths, especially for bass synth. I haven't actively produced music since the early 90s, but in the studio back then we had a lot of keyboards, most notably DX-7IIFD w/grey matter response, Emulator II+, Minimoog Model D, Roland D-550, Korg M1, Roland MKS-80 Super Jupiter w/programmer. But the DX-7 probably was more of our go-to for live set instrumentation (specifically for bass synth) and its versatility across a range of instruments. It was usually somewhere in the conversation when we were writing songs. But since we were doing the RB/Funk thing, Minimoog (in the studio) was usually the weapon I would use faithfully for bass. Truly good days back then. Again, really enjoyed your work on that K&G cover.

@guappanlucido7248 Thank you for your kind comments and your background during your producing years. Never, in my lifetime will I ever reach your calibre. I've mastered the Juno 60 but struggle with other synths, with 2 or more oscillators.

I'm using FL Studio and Vegas editing software. The synths are Arturia and others for sounds. In some cases, the artists used factory presets.

yeah he played them very low velocity and didnt do enough layering the plugins are fine.

@KaiMusicProductions , I'm a novice and will always be. In relation to "velocity", if im doing it correctly I increase the velocity and doesn't sound as good. Do you have any advice? Also, what more do I need to do for layering?

@@platos8397 Oh hi! Layering as in the Synths and keyboards were thin. There should have been more lower notes in the pads and keys. With high velocity you need to try Eqing and find just better sounds if it sounds bad. (and compression) your vid was still good effort. there were missing flutes, arpeggio plucks and Rhythm acoustic guitar and the Drums needed more life. they were very dry. some reverbs and more acoustic type snare layering would have been nice!
