Hey @DRichSpirits, Magnus Master Blender Nancy Fraley here. I thoroughly enjoyed your review of these two batches of JMCB! I totally agree with your assessment that #333 is better than #167. Since around batch #280, I've finally be able to get Cigar Blend back to tasting very similar to how the original 14 batches used to taste. The lower proof is also very similar to the original batches, although the original batches were actually in the 50 to 53% ABV range. The ages of the Bourbons in #333 are currently 10 to 20 years old. Unfortunately, I just haven't had the time to write out the tasting notes for the most recent batches. Don’t get wax. I get an oily mouth feel which I love. Is that what you are talking about? Dusty peanut, snickerdoodle cookie on the nose. Oily Snickerdoodle cookie palate and an allspice finish. Great review 😎

I have all the same things to say. I desperately wanted it to have some complexity, but it didn't. It's time for me to revisit it as well!

To me this tasted and smelled like a sugar cookie with an essence of lemon, and some caramel with a dusting of crusted peanuts. And to me this does NOT drink like 130 proof. Maybe 110.

Found this an hour ago. First time I've ever found Bookers at retail. Bought it and I'm glad I did.

The first time I did a scotch tasting years ago I hated all of them. About a year after that I fell in love with them. But I’m a lover of all whiskies, scotch, Irish, bourbon.

I’ve try it and I love it so much! The taste of berries, toasted oak, caramel, vanilla and finish with long lasting spice on my mouth going well with grilled meats and seafood. 🥃

I picked up the 1792 SMALL BATCH, sipping it now. The store didnt have the green river. The 1792 is nice. I was struggling to pick out what im smelling or tasting because its still new right now and I bought 2 liquors tonight to try. Picked this one up for about $35 i forgot exactly. MIghta paid a few bucks too much but its ok this time. This is day 1, hour 1. I think it will grow on me quickly. Its usually like this the first day with a new liquor. Ok 2 and 3 hour mark, Im getting some caremel vanilla ish notes, and brown sugar, maybe a little maple. Has nice mouth feel even though in my glass it doesnt have legs. Very nice, its up there with my old forester but its not as dense or somthing, its a good price for the liquor. Im pretty happy with it. It finishes forever too. Even though i bought the wrong 1792, its good still. Now i gotta go buy the full proof. Il probably try the whole line. I might try the whole old forester line too.

I've had several bookers that smoke higher proof bookers. I gotta find this one but imo the 8 prior to that both 2024 ones are better than all of 2023 and last 2 of 2022. only 1 of the last 8 was sub par..maybe 2 .. most knob creek single barrel store picks unfortunately beat most bookers but ill still buy them all lol.. I hate the cowboys defense didnt show up today. Makes me sick!!! Cheers

Decent list, I’ve had various bottles of each brand and liked them all. Like you I’m partial to Islam booze, and I think Ardberg is under rated

Im going to have to try these. I only like a few bourbons here n there, these sound good. I have forester 1910, thats like the only good bourbon I tried. ALl others were all bad cheap horrible ones lol. So i look for reviews like this. l dont mind paying a bit more for good liquor these days. Hey i like that, gotta throw some responsibility away. HA..

D Rich I agree with you. It will be in everyone’s top bourbon by end of the year. But I believe we get very different notes from the same bottle. I wonder if this laser code is a real thing. But great review keep up the great work 👍🏾.

Passed on C batch last year. Not this year grabbed a bottle last week.

This is a huge winner! Love Lagavulin and Ardbeg - favourites - nothing comes close to Lagavulin 16! It was my gateway to scotch! Love peated scotch! This is a reasonably priced Ardbeg special release which is wonderful! Great review!

Jr is a store pick. It's not your regular Batch. What's the proof on your Stagg Jr? I do not own a GTS, but have tried 2Jrs. They are some of my favorite pours.
