I am an Arab from Libya. I left Islam and live in disguise as a Muslim so as not to be killed. In my city, a young man who left Islam and converted to Christianity was punished and imprisoned until he returned to Islam. There was another young man who they killed because he left Islam and became an atheist, and this was done according to Islamic Sharia law (the punishment for apostasy). Unfortunately, many of those who leave Islam end up committing suicide because society does not accept them. I hope to immigrate to a better place. I do not think that I can bear to lie to myself and live a depressing life against my will. If I do not have the opportunity to immigrate, I think that I will commit suicide like everyone else.
