Drop panel construction
Welcome to Tech Civil ✌✌
Here is a video on drop panel and flat slab construction.
Drop panels are the rectangular portion provided above the column and below the slab in order to restrict slab from getting sheared and undergo rupture.
Drop panel increases the contact surface area between the column and slab, which will enable a better distribution of load from slab to column. Thus, it will reduce the chance of slab failure due to unbalanced moments.
Reason behind drop panel construction:
* Easier installation of formwork and reinforcement
* Construction time for large formwork gets reduced
* Increase in flexibility of planning the layout for room
* Increased head room of the floor will be available.
Main uses of drop panel :
* It tends to improve resistance for shear failure.
* It tends to enhance negative moment capacity of flat slab.
* It tends to minimize the deflection.
The process is similar to slab concreting, which includes,
1. shuttering
2. reinforcement works
3. concreting

Very nice video. Can you say what the COST is for each drop panel (vs totally flat slab)? There's not just the extra concrete, but all those steel stirrups and rebar, and the extra "rough" carpentry to build the extra formwork for each drop panel. Thank you in advance.

Hi , any suggestions on retaining wall concrete leakage on joints ? How to stop leaking of grout between shuttering sheets ?
You can use masking tapes or just fill the gap with gunny bag pieces or paper.

@@MIqbal-dd8ni ok. For a framed structure, it does depend on type of soil, size of footing and depth of footing. And for a completely Rcc work it may go upto 20-25lakh depending upon above mentioned factors.
@@pradeepmalenki3883 brother first where r u located, second i want a house with basement almost 12,13 hundreds sqf ,and ground floor about 3000 sqf,and first floor about 2000 sqf with frame structure .and we are going almost 6 ft low and land is not too bad .can you tell me estimated grey structure cost? Total plot size is 75×90

What is water lever for?
It is to maintain the level of the slab. ( to have zero slope). Shuttering will be set with respect to the water level. So that the slab level will be uniform during concreting Else it will take huge quantity of cement mortar while flooring.

want to stranth my 10 feet 9x9 colum because of bad construction... it all ready carry load on 3 store bulding.. l willing to add adtional stranth iron bars and stirups for 9x9 collum and refeling outter cover With concreet.. can you advise.
