I think Cole Palmer is forced to drop too deep to receive the ball by the time he receives and turn the opposition players had already close the spaces. You would agree that we need Palmer to be in those half spaces and I think the way out is for Maresca to start playing Enzo Fernandez so that he will be the one dropping to receive the passes and connect the defense and the attack this will allow Palmer to stay up the pitch. Also the full-backs should invert to form the double pivot rather than moving into the half-spaces

Gusto is not that player that maresca wants him to be He is too fearful to use the ball and he makes alot of mistake playing bad passes and losing the ball simultaneously And he is not a clinical player too I think maresca should let palmer return to that right half space where he is most effective and let cucu invert in the left half space instead of Gusto

I don't like the left space palmer is occupying recently... when he is on the left Jackson can't make that out to in run from the left and a Palmer can't start on his strong foot...but what do you think?

I think our players need to start being more brave and proactive and move into those half spaces quicker. I e noticed against big teams the Maduekes, Palmers, Gustos, shy away from attacking certain spaces or taking long range shots or making themselves open for a through ball more often.

I think Chelsea need a defensive coach to help Maresca out. The problem is not just an individual player issue it's collective. It seems Maresca is focus more on offensive play. He needs a defensive coach to help him

Palmer is best in the right half space and is now being deployed in the left half space because of gusto inverting. Since then palmer has been shit. So palmer hasn't been poor but he being played out of his comfort zone

Petrovic is a good shot stopper no doubt about that & being young, can POSSIBLY learn on the game in terms of improving his passes to becoming a ball playing GK but Tyrone Chelsea has progressed beyond giving a goalkeeper that kind of run of games to learn on the game, & besides, he's poor claiming crosses & corners which is Sanchez strength & I believe for that reason he's still playing as the no 1 ATM, not like his passes are great. However I would love Jorgensen to be a given a premier league chance after international break.

The reason we have a problem with balance in attack and defense is we don't have very good defenders. Maresca is not willing to take risk at this time, because of this defense issue and understandably so. He either has to ask Caicedo to join the attack and play as Kante did, or use Reece James on the right to overlap and underlap. Using Felix with Palmer is too risky with our present defense, since Felix is not good defensively and not aggressive. This a conundrum for him. I think he is going continue as is and play it safe. We still have an excellent chance finishing top 4 playing this way. We are forgetting this is his first season with an very young team. We are doing really well compared to Arsenal. If we can beat them it will be a massive achievement for Chelsea. I hope we go back for Chalobah in January though.

We created more chances against Liverpool than Arsenal did, we created more chances against City than Arsenal did, we created more chances against Newcastle than Arsenal and City did against Newcastle. We don’t have a creativity problem, we ran into difficult fixtures. Our xG in those games are comparable to the top teams in the comparative fixtures

I do not like James on the left back position. His best position is on the right. Against Arsenal Cucurella should play on the left to deal with Saka. As for the question marks in attack, madueke may not be providing much in attack but defensively he is doing a great job that is why enzo likes him. But I think this shows the importance of Enzo fernandez. His presence brings more solutions in attack. I would like to see a caicedo, lavia and Enzo all playing at once.

In my opinion , madueke or Neto is better at holding the width for Chelsea because opposition defender know they are dangerous 1v1 thereby given Palmer the chance to put ball in half spaces or make run in that position. If Maresca changes gusto to holding the width ,they know gusto lack any threat attacking wise so the defenders will double up on Palmer thereby stopping Palmer to impact games.

I think our wingers must also learn to consistently run at opponent's back line, especially through the half-space channels. They're too stacked in the wide areas waiting for 1v1 situations. How wingers are been used now a days is changing because coaches have developed counter-tactics against 1v1 situations. Check how Barcelona is using their wingers

i was thinking during the game that if we had chilli doing what gusto was doing at left we could have seen chilli make those runs take take shots cause i remember the worst season when we sometimes saw chilli and azpi go so ahead that they sometimes took striker position

This is a very good analysis A couple of things annoyed me 1. We played James on the right again because Enzo doesn't want to use Enzo in midfield, so we need James to do some things that Enzo does. I'm not saying Enzo should start, but we're quickly developing Arsenal's defensive mentality. Also, like him or not, we only started playing good going forward when Enzo came on, and Palmer tends to play worse when Enzo is off the pitch, we need to play someone who can create in deep positions so Palmer doesn't keep dropping back (once again, it doesn't have to be Enzo) 2. This thing of making one of the fullbacks play in the number 10 position is actually rubbish if the player attacking is not Reece James. If this attacking fullback thing is a must for Maresca, he might as well put Chilwell back in the team.

1. Maresca's tactics has so many questions. Example.. Our wingers are always doubled up...when they have the ball.. they always have about 2-3 players marking them when they have the ball.... We don't isolate our wingers with their fullback alone.... 2. We have Caicedo and Lavia who are defensive and are no so good in finding passes and spaces, they are not graced with vision.... Why include another defender ahead of them in Gusto? He should have played KDH in that Gusto position.... Atleast he can defend and attack... Palmer had to come deep to pick the ball, but he should have been close to the 18 yard, Just to receive the ball and shoot or create... Enzo Maresca is a fraud.

Cucurella is better playing as an inverted LB. Let Palmer play on the 10 on the right side of the pitch, and Caciedo go higher playing like an 8, dropping deep

Looking at some of the individual performances. Noni and Gusto were so poor! Gusto couldn't pass the ball while attacking. Madueke didn't manage to dribble past opponents. Besides the poor record we have at Old Trafford. We could've done better and could've won the game.

Honestly Chelsea need to start putting corner/set pieces into good use
