    Well spoken and described. I’ve been calling the kite, the diamond which has been regularly used against a back 5. It’s designed to allow play to go around the holding 2 or 3 players, or at least shift them from their block.
    However, the box midfield involves the striker dropping in to midfield to create an overload or pull the cb out of position. It is probably the most important movement to make the box work when creating space up front. Striker moves in to midfield, which triggers the wingers to hold the opposition defensive line back. Then 1 of the two 10’s will sprint in to any space a cb may have vacated. Should the opposition defence move the line across this affords the wingers to have space.
    No matter how the opposition reacts to the strikers movement, it creates a trigger for a certain play. i.e. should the CB’s not move in with the striker it allows an overload in the middle and triggers diagonal runs in behind the full backs by the wingers.
    The most important thing when playing against Maresca, Pep or Conte as an example is for your DM(s) to always block passing lanes to the striker. When that happens you will notice a lot of pointless possession like what happened last year at Leicester, or recently Arsenal vs Man City. We will see it once teams catch on.
    Another important observation under Maresca is the half space runs in behind when in the last third. The winger puts the 10 half space runner through for them to drive a low cross in. We’ve seen this with KDH and Cucu especially. Carney when playing tries these runs a lot too. Palmer and Enzo are very average at understanding that game play, or simply can’t execute it. Which is why I find our attack better when KDH plays over Enzo. We can’t question Palmer of course. But people don’t tend to appreciate movement, and only notice a player when the ball is at their feet.
    KDH allows players like Palmer and Sancho as an example be more prominent on the ball. It allows the pair to have another extra runner. To me when Sancho plays I want to see KDH especially.

      Well said mate. Enzo at the half space suits Mudryk imo while KDH suits Sancho better, going by what Maresca is trying to do

      @@RuthFatade that’s a tough one. Because Mudryk isn’t actually a player that plays high on the opposition defensive line for through balls and isn’t comfortable in tight spaces. Mudryk also lacks decisive quick decision making, more reacts to the positioning of the opponent. Enzo has been seen visually being very frustrated with Mudryk. Enzo ideal partners as wingers are Noni and Neto who both sit high and wide. They have blistering acceleration to get in behind which suits Enzo’s excellent vision and depth of passing. Sancho doesn’t have that same pace, but is very comfortable in build up play and tight spaces. Both Sancho and Enzo are very good playing in front of the defence but maybe don’t threaten the opposition with end product. Both Palmer and Noni have amazing dangerous end product.
      I would sum it up as Mudryk doesn’t suit the system unless Maresca can change his awkward positioning and decision making. He needs to be out of the build up and when he does become involved attract the defender in and give a simple recycled ball back into the middle. Then look to be the guy who runs in behind the defence or completely isolate the full back to take him on. He needs to be the man who assists or scores only. He needs to be aware that he isn’t a build up player. He looses possession too easily putting the entire team in dangerous positions when the opposition counter us. On a positive, we saw many of these changes I highlighted above against Barrow. To sum up that game for him, he kept it simple.
      Enzo is to me is a misfit in our team. He has been profiled wrong. He doesn’t suit playing a double 10 next to Palmer. Both players want the ball to feet. Both players don’t create space with movement. Both players don’t have pace to even be that guy. Both players are below average in the transition. Enzo slightly better. Palmer is more of a passing lane interception defender, Enzo likes to jam defenders which is amazing as a 6 when the play gets funnelled inside.
      I counter that with saying Enzo is an amazing 6, but the dual roll 6/10 is not suited to his profile. He is a first receiver (in midfield from CB’s), he is a player amazing with pace around him (attacking and defensively). He is a hard tackler. He has amazing fight. Reads the game. Amazing leadership. Calmness on the ball. Can shoot from outside of the box like Rodri at City. He can be a superstar in that position.
      For the sake of the team, and I will simplify my reasons, the players better suited are:
      Casadei - box presence in both attack and defence. Runs behind. Has more agility for a dual roll. Developed as a 8 or 10. Slightly stronger as a 10
      Carney - same reasons as above but would need more work as he was developed to this point as an 10. Better 10, average 6.
      Caicedo - we’ve seen very quick decision making. Will run behind. Amazing agility and lungs to stop any counter attack. He is a stronger 6 than 10.
      KDH - pace, passing, shooting and in behind runs but needs more coaching with the speed of thought in the PL. Better 10 than 6.
      I understand why Enzo is playing due to leadership and is our best player to create that block when in the 6 position. Also gives calmness. But I would say Casadei is the one that should be developing into that position to allow team balance. My second choice is an outside choice in Santos. 3rd swap Enzo and Caicedo around. 4th is KDH. 5th Carney. To me it’s not about the best individual player for that particular position, but best team player. I would have put Gallagher ahead of all these guys as he was literally the balance when Enzo got injured. He made everyone look better. Not because he was amazing on the ball, but because he allowed the ball players to be on the ball. His agility and presences retreating back from a 10 to a 6. Energy to make the pitch seem smaller than it was. Ability to win the ball high. Constant runs behind. Completely fearless. Giving the team something that no other player could.
      We will keep seeing Enzo, but I truly believe to see the next level of this team that position is the only glaring weakness. I’m not complaining as such as I’ve enjoyed watching Chelsea play and the results have been great. Other positions are able to hide this slight weakness. As mentioned, I have no problem when Enzo is back in the 6, only when in the left 10 half space. Meaning he definitely gives us something.

    Trust me, this is the best lineup for Chelsea, not only for the finishing but for the rhythm of the game, For me, I watching Jackson in very videos from different angles, the goals he has coincided are goals that will not be consistent during the season, he totally disappeared against City, so we need someone that can play infrastructure of Palmer that can match his energy and thinking But also finish, and that's Nkunku, trusted me this is the best for Chelsea:
    Sanchez.
    Gusto. Fofana. Cotwill. Cucu
    Caicedo. R.Lavia.
    C.Palmer 10
    Madueke P.Neto
    Nkunku

    • @wilfredchimweta
      @wilfredchimweta 23 години тому +2

      Sachez is ontop of his form, he is doing fine. Another point is that Neto is more effective on the RW, we should use Sancho, Mudryk or even Jackson as a LW

    • @Daniel8alx
      @Daniel8alx 23 години тому +2

      @wilfredchimweta You're right, I forgot Sánchez, but there is no way Mudrick is playing, the debate between Neto, Madueke, Sancho is perfect because we need that healthy competition for the best 11, so for me Madueke on his natural position RW and Neto playing amazing in the LW, now if Sancho Improve better then he can replace the LW so Neto can go to the RW, but for now Madueke and Neto, I don't place Fernandez because we need someone (Lavia) helping Caicedo recovering those balls in the midfield, and with Palmer in his best position 10 plus Nkunku like a Stryker/False 9 that can move the defender out of position like Werner use to, but with much better finishing plus Madueke and Neto (or Sancho) in the wings, bro we look dangerous
