Must be a Kawasaki thing, i rode my ZZR600 home the other week after doing a 70 odd mile loop, parked it, went back a few days later, wouldn't start, fuel pump and fuel pup relay both gubbed, i now carry a extra length of fuel line as a just incase and some tools, i can take the tank off, disconnect the fuel pump, pull the hose to the carbs, and use the extra line i have to make it gravity feed

Doesn't sound like a fuel pump motor problem since it is priming. It was probably something in the fuel pump assembly. Fuel filters get clogged nowadays because gas stations put alcohol in the fuel. I'd say 3 month old alcohol mixed fuel will leave deposits over time due to oxidation. You want to use a solvent that will clear that filter up and anything else in the fuel pump assembly such as sticky grime in the fuel pump motor. If you want to be really thorough, you will want to clean the fuel pump assembly and get a new fuel filter. Since you are at that point you might as well remove any rust in the tank. An entirely new fuel pump assembly will cost you around 300+ dollars but if you are handy, you can get the fuel filter for around 12 dollars and clean the old fuel pump motor out with fresh gasoline and carb cleaner. If you want insurance, replace the old fuel pump motor with a new fuel pump motor and keep the old one as a spare. I'd clean out the spare before storing it. A new fuel pump motor is around 30 bucks. This is one of the things you wind up having to do if you haven't ridden your bike for over a year but and it depends on how old the gas was when you fired it up again.

This is what is really happening at thismoment on my kawasaki z250sl that is why I am searching here in youtube for what maybe the cause and my first theory now will be a fuel pump. I was riding when i dis a stop over to buy something then as I hop in it and press the start what happened is 100% same as this that that started my frustration until i called my cousin to push my bile up to our home.😢

My bike is doing the same thing but works when I bump it... but then cuts out quite frequently, cleaned the carb... does that mean it's the fuel pump

We broke the same part in our swift challenger. It's crazy you have to order the whole part and not just the blind with the bottom tab? Thankyou or the video a big help.

I hear mine prime but same issue

My bike will ride okay short distances, but will bog and refuse to accelerate when warm. And it makes a clicking noise like yours did when I prime the fuel pump. I'm hoping it's clogged/ needs replacing, as that's pretty easy. But I have to wait another week until I'm off work ):

Hi. I’ve watched your video and it is very informative. I have a problem with my blind not retracting and would like to get a new “roller blind only”. The frame is ok. I’ve tried to retension it but only lasts a few pulls so need to get a new blind. Does anyone know the part number for the roller blind. Thanks.

I had similar. I turned the ignition and notice i didn't hear the fuel pump priming. I was at home and left of a couple of hours. Then it worked. It would sometimes make a sick groan instead of the normal whir when turning the ignition. Given I can't get a part from Yamaha for nearly 3 month (Thanks Covid), a mechanic suggested using fuel injector cleaner in the tank. I let it a few days and the bad prime noise was still happening, but working enough that the engine would start fine. Then i tried the injector cleaner - i used 20% of a bottle designed for a 50 or 60 litre tank as the yamaha has a 12 litre capacity. And since then have had no problems at all with the priming. The sound you first got when turning the ignition sounded like what I was getting. like it was struggling to prime. I guess the cleaner might be cleaning something in the pump. I will keep an eye on it for a few weeks. If the pump fails I will be off the rioad through Chritmas and summer and that owuld be a major bummer as its my commuter too. I hope this helps someone else.

That hopelessness in the pit of your stomach as the whole day you had planned turns to shit, and how you'd do anything, pay anything just to hear the engine fire. Been there mate and it ain't nice.

For the future if u got enough tools hitting the pump with a ranch and it's will work (temporary). Sometimes even hitting the gas tank can help.. it's a long shot but everything is better then waiting 2 hours 4 AAA.

Well in my case I have a suzuki marauder vz800 with carbs on it and I just replace an oem fuel pump just in case...

Nice bike! Looks familiar... lol We lost our HD Drift in a similar style, and never did find it. I liked that camera.

This is why i favor carb over fuel injection... Efi has a lot of possible failing points. Carb has.. well... Little to none.

Fx airgun trigger is too simple and so old design, they made overprice products only for the look. Switch back to HW100.

I’m having my sane issues with mine - was told it could be the ‘sears’ so I’m sending it off to a tuner for a service etc

The problem is the second stage grub screw. The tiny spring inside the screw that keeps tension on the ball becomes loose and the ball doesn’t have enough pressure to release the hammer. At least that was the issue with mine. Ordered a a new second stage screw from FX USA and it’s been great since.

Longshot that you'll see this and answer, but once you released the starter button , could you still hear the pump "running" ? I think I got the same issue.

I had issues on my Bobcat trigger to. but in my case the first stage disappeared and the second stage ??? the gun fired immediately by cocking. that was dangerous! I think it cause problems with trigger stag. My´n was lose at both ends. Thank god it happened in warranty !

you just have to adjust the first and second stage screws and ull be fine..
