Thank you for this, was a bit intimidated to take my throttle base apart to check wires as my right throttle has stopped working. Unfortunately both 4 pin and 6 pin wires are secure and removing them and plugging back in did not help :( I appears the right throttle is defective on my Orion 2 HOTAS base after a couple hundred hours of use. Now mind you, I do not mess with the throttle that much as for many of those hours it was stationary with ATC engaged. WINWING customer service has been very responsive so far, will see where this goes.

Hi, hope you are well. I have bought an Orion ver.1 F-16 throttle used, however the throttle arrived with the notorious design fault occurring at the base of the cables (a potential fault only suggested and warned about and not shown in most reviews). The right cable is exposed at the passthrough where it flows under into the base, the wiring can be seen though the broken insulation. I can see (apparently in tact, red, white and black wires and then green, blue and yellow wires. The green and blue wires look to have been cut to me, perhaps with fine diagonal wire cutters actually, clean, the copper is not really frayed or broken by stress. Either way, they are severed. I've tested the throttle in DCS with the F-16 and all Switches and Axis still register, as well as testing with Xinput - all seems to function, luckily? Since these wires are cut/broken and don't seem to be showing a problem, could you tell me what these are for and which JST header on the PCB they correspond to? What problems to anticipate. It looks to be a 3-pin JST cable, possibly green, blue and yellow bundle. To replace this I'd be able to buy another JST cable of type and re-sleeve it then? I was intending to purchase the F-15 throttles and wondered in the functionality for these green, blue and yellow wires may be required on a dual throttle variants. Note: the cracked/damaged right 3-pin throttle connector is the one still functioning. Apologies if I'm not clear or my terminology is incorrect, my dad was the electrical engineer, he'd have solved it with a volt meter in a second. I've been doing what he would be doing in looking for the service manual. Best regards.

Basically I want to know what connection is used at the end of the cable to connect to the board. What is the white block needed and what are the small metal clips at the end of the cable that go into the block called? Thanks in advance.

Hi. I am trying to repair the main 5 pin cable that attaches to the base. Can you tell me the name of the white connecting box that attaches to the board. Also what are the metal pin at the end of each cable the goes into the white connecting box. Basically I have stripped the end of the cable and need to replace the crimp. Thanks

Can you grease the brackets that are responsible for the movements without having to open anything or do you not need to grease them at all? Thank you for this video. I've been having issues with my out-of-warranty ALPHA twist grip not tracking consistently. The video is very detailed but the actual disassembly of the grip case and details of which screws / bolts need to be removed was very rapid and missing detail. Is there any chance you could post a diagram of which screws are necessary to remove to split open the case safely? Thanks again.

So I bought one but havent put it together yet. My issue is that I have my winwing throttle on a desk mount so does the F-16 rail interfere with me mounting the base on a desk mount?
