Hal Ketchum is amazing, I found him on UA-cam popped on a playlist about a year ago. I would of love to have gone to watch him live!

I saw him at west fest in Colorado in 2000 or 2001 and i was still a kid but loved this song ever since

My favorite Hal song. I was totally blessed to go to the Grand Ole Opry...and Hal Ketchum was on the stage that night. I swear, there was no one else I wanted to see and there he was!!! It was also my birthday week. I was at a public school convention. The first one I ever went to.

One of the beautiful, masterful things that always runs through my brain on this song is the choice of words around “lover of a drink, lover of a fight, one more round can surely set things right” A round of drinks? A round of a fight? I just love what he did there, tied them both together.

Wow. This was filmed less than 2 months before his diagnosis, and you can see it in his eyes. So very sad. There's nothing at all fair about life. Hal was such a talented singer with an amazing voice. RIP Hal. Thank you for sharing your voice with us.

The last time I heard this I was in the Navy in 93 I was young and hadn't yet experienced the level of Sorrow that the song talks about. Seems like only a few moments ago I was there and now I'm instantly catapulted decades later to this present moment. In which the familiarity of the song exist but my experiences now explain the song Perfectly to me.

Was a time when Gnashville knew when it had a gem on Music Row. But that all ended way before Ketchum came to town. Important thing is, his family & friends, and some of his fans, knew how special a person he was.

We saw him 3 times. Great. Loved him and his music.
