Killer Mopar Barn Find! 1968 Dodge Coronet 500 383 Big Block PS PB Ac Buckets Console HHG
I saw this car on marketplace last week and thought it was too good to be true. I figured it would sell in hours. A few days later it was still listed. I figured it was a scam or super rusty. A few days later it was still listed so I messaged the guy and set a time to go look at it 4 hours away. I went and looked at it and paid asking price...gladly. Ive owned over 100 vintage vehicles and most were Mopars but this is my first 68-70 B Body. I think it was a smoking deal. Will she run!?

@@richardw.smithjr.6683 no idea. I sold it a long time ago. I sold it to buy a 70 gto 400 4 speed and the deal fell through. Also sold a 68 skylark 2 dr ht to buy the 70 gto. I ended up with no gto and no ram charger and no skylark. Oh well

@@halfwayhousegarage2959 yes it will! Needs o-ringed. Would be interesting to see if the copper coat would work? Have used it myself on some very bad head and block surfaces before but on gas engines.

@halfwayhousegarage2959 you're not wrong, most 2nd gens are piles, as was mine lol. Cracked dash, leaked every fluid, but it did start every time. I also had a 3rd gen and that IMO was the best vehicle I've ever had. I definitely miss that one!
@@Buff_MC the only 2nd gen I had was a 1996 360 auto 4x4. It was a pretty decent truck. Ive had someting like 35-40 1972-1993 Dodges. I still have my 1991 4x4 dually. I still have my 2007 hemi half ton and now i have a 2018 6.4 hemi 2500. I love them all

Ummm I’m sure this was a joke but just in case, buy a set of feeler gauges. The tools you currently have are apart plug gapers for gasoline engines. .010” intake .020” exhaust Pre DEF/DPF systems. You have to have the engine one #1 or #6 TDC (both rocker arms will be loose on the cylinder you start with.) both valves on the one, then intake, exhaust, intake, exhaust. Roll the engine over 360 degrees and put the next (1 or 6) on top and do the same thing starting with that cylinder one. Torque the jam nuts to 18 ft lbs. all has to be done on a completely cold engine.
Setting valve lash and understanding the pressure that needs to be on your feeler gauge when in there is a skill that takes practice to learn good luck hope you end up buying the right size feeler gauge or that this video is a joke either way u got this lol!
Use the right tool bud. Those both are spark plug gap tools. You need a feeler gauge. I think it’s called “valve shim feeler gauge.

Once my 318 finally goes out in my 85 power ram w150 . I believe I'm gone put a Cummins in it. Because the gas these days are garbage. I only put non ethanol in mine. Half the time it watered. So believe I'm gone put a Cummins in mine once the 318 goes. But now the 318 still kicking like a champ.
