Jimi taught me volumes on how to play electric. Not personally, just listening & watching him from the early 70s, on. This is an absolute first? I thought I'd heard everything from Hendrix and others he'd played with. Talk about a diamond in the rough! Thanks for sharing!!

In the mid 70's the record stores on telegraph in Berkley , CA. had whole rows of bootleg LP's. from all the bands of the day.. The covers would often be some generic photo with titles typed on the side..

Is this available in CD or LP? In his autobiography Miles Davis said he and Jimi Hedrix had jammed together and were planning a recording session. That would really have been something special!

I heard about this album in the early 70's. But I never heard it till today. Apparently the story at least here in Australia was John McLaughlin stopped it from being available.

While warming up, notice @ 43:53 that Dave Holland plays a short bassline to Tyrone Davis's "Baby Can I Change Your Mind" which also came out about the same time or a little before. Interesting..

Ok, Let's be honest. JH, JML and DH are great musicians but this recording has nothing extraordinary, on the contrary doesn't sound good. Jimmy and McLaughlin has completely different styles. Thanks for the post. Regards.

Ugh …. Some serious audio problems with this, legendary guys, but flawed recording, hard to listen to, am I completely alone thinking that? Just the first few minutes tell me that it wasn’t the best night for these incredible musicians.

I remember this album... and it sounds as terrible now as it did then. Ok so I know its Hendrix and McLaughlin and were suppose to genuflect at the altar of guitar heroes when we hear their names but honestly this is trash, the engineer should have been fired on the spot for the worse recording of that era, other then the familiar licks and tricks musically I give this a 1 and sonically 1/2...

Just as Peter Jackson did on Get Back get the AI out and go over this music. There is something going on here that is historic. If there was recording technology back in time of Beethoven then his rehearsals would be out on cd boxsets with essays on how it is historically important.

groovy stuff. I heard this for the first time in the early 1980s, buddy of mine at college had a ton of bootleg Hendrix and Coltrane recordings. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard it then, and it still is amazing it's still around. This seems to be the complete version.
