Impressed! First Ride With 14 Tooth Sprocket on a Himalayan
In this video, we'll show you how a 14 tooth sprocket on your Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle increases your gearing options and gives you more power right where you need it. Especially on steep loose dirt trails.
By installing a 14 tooth sprocket on your Royal Enfield Himalayan , the gears hit at a much more beneficial place in the power band. I hoped it would work, and it did. This is an amazing upgrade, and it's simple to do! Take a look for my thoughts on the results.

    Hey man, I recently fitted the Tec cam on my Scram and am finding it's got excessive tappet noise. I was trying to listen to your bike but it's hard to tell. Does your Himmy have the loud ticking sound after the cam install? Mine seemed noisy to begin with and moreso after the cam.

    My BS6 has the 477 Big Bore, the Powertronic V4 with calibrated mapping, the HT-b performance cam and the fuelX Pro. I have recently out-raced a 450 Hima up to 80kmh. My top speed still is 125 and that won't change unless I also change the sprockets. Red line is red line. I just get a whole lot faster there.

    This is such a great video! So much information here. I've gone through the same evolution you have and I'm looking to pull the trigger on the Scram/Himi. The only negative for me are the tube tires. I live in Ecuador where this bike will be perfectly applicable. I think by now you have installed the TEC cam...can't wait to hear your impression. Also, I'll study this FuelX Pro. Finally, that ride from Montrose to Durango is absolute utopia!

    Does the tall seat make you slide forward at all? My dealer has one on his personal bike and he said it did for him..

    • @swcoloradoadventures
      @swcoloradoadventures Місяць тому

      Hey there. It actually does the opposite for me. I felt gravity pulled me forward more when I had the stock seat. Being almost level with the rear, I’m a lot less cramped and able to spread out over what would have normally been the jump between the front and back part of the seat. May just be a personal geometry thing though.

      @@swcoloradoadventurestoday I rode about 35 mi with the dealers seat on my bike. It felt great. I will be ordering one. Now the decision is to staple it myself or send them the seat pan. I have done them before and they never come out looking just perfect.

    What made you decide to go for the carbon fiber option? I've watched some of your videos and noticed you ride a lot of unpaved roads. I'm concerned that if the bike drops or a stone hits your exhaust, the carbon fiber could break, whereas a steel option would only get bent. I know the carbon fiber exhaust is a bit lighter, but still, the risk of getting a hole or crack in it is a big concern in my opinion.

    • @swcoloradoadventures
      @swcoloradoadventures Місяць тому

      I also happen to drop the bike a lot …😜the exhaust has not really had damage from any of that. However, maybe due to my fuel mixes the carbon has warped at but at a hotspot. If I was doing it again, I would get the smallest stainless that accommodates a spark arrestor.

    Shoei helmets are the tightest, most round helmets I've ever attempted to squeeze my nogen into. I give up. I'm a XXXL long oval and the ONLY helmet that fits my head doesn't fit my face. It squishes my cheeks so much that I can't breathe through my nose and the neck roll kinda chokes me a bit. Would love to find an open face or modular besides the C5.

    Interesting, where did you purchase the cam? Neither the USA nor the UK answer my emails. I got one email from the UK telling me to send my credit card info and address and when I asked them about shipping with UPS all I got was silence. Seems gone are the days of real customer service and talking with real human beings over the phone. I guess they figure my way or the highway. Then these companies wonder why everyone is going to Amazon for everything.

    As another UK biker, who is considering getting back into motorbikes, but mainly for commuting (getting to work!) and recreational road riding, I am seriously considering getting a Himalayan. I like the look of them, I want a more upright riding position, and I am quite happy with a slightly lower powered bike, but with enough 'get up and go' to keep up with traffic. The Himalayan seems to fit everything that I want, at a reasonable price, and nothing too electronic (my last bikes were a RE Army Bullet and a Triumph T140e Bonneville, so I love the more simple bikes!) Thanks for your thoughts on the Himi - it is looking more likely that I will get one (if my wife is happy with it...)

    I have a long oval head and wear a large in Shoei Neotec II. It fits amazingly! I recently purchased the Hornet and I am really pleased with it. I tend to believe a large would have worked best but I really struggled getting my head in it. Once in it felt really snug in all the right ways. But getting my head in it without pain seems important, so I sized up. I think the XL also fits pretty well, but in hindsight I wonder if thinner cheek pads might have helped me get the large over my head. Ventilation on the Hornet is much better for me than the Neotec and I think it’s pretty quiet. Overall I’m really pleased. By comparison I had an Arai XD4 before it. I wore an XL in it and added Large cheek pads to tighten up the fit. Overall the Shoei Hornet is a better fit for my head, and I’m experiencing MUCH less “lift” when riding. I assume it’s the venting of the peak.

      Hey Eddie! Thanks for the comment and real world experience debrief. This is the first premium helmet I have purchased and it was a unique experience with regards to fit. I don’t have any local shops within 100 miles that carry these so it was a gamble on size. When I first started wearing it I thought I had gotten a size too small since getting it on was a bit more snug than I was accustomed to especially when putting it on. That turned out to be simply the feel of a helmet that fits. That was another unique experience. I did opt for the thinner check pads and now I really feel naked without this particular helmet and very secure with it on. I guess the most telling part is I haven’t remotely considered looking for another helmet since break in. Thanks and be safe out there!

      @@bswear77 you are correct. Can’t remember off the top of my head. I’d have to go watch that video where I changed the chain. It ended up being only one longer than oem though.

    Hi, i own Himalayan 2022, im also thinking about bar risers but it's look like you need to extend the clutch and hand brake... Did you manage to install them without any extension? Thank you

      Hey there! I sure did. If you get the oem height risers you’re good to go. Thanks!

    That's how I do it with the TEC camshaft. 0.09 inlet, 0.20 outlet. No problems for 15,000 km. When the engine is worn out I will install a big bore kit. It's not all that expensive. Have fun with your REH, greetings

    FOUR MINUTES!! Four freaking minutes!!! That's how long I had to wait for you to get done with your pointless, rambling introduction. Dude -- just get to the point. Nobody wants to watch your multi-angle face shots or listen to a bunch of nothing before you get to the point. Oh, and Klim is pronounced with a long I. Just sayin.
