what was the oil they used in the 1990 that discontinued
This test missed the testing of the filter frame/housing.
The test procedure is wrong, at no point did the gasket/seal get checked and neither did any of the housing. You can’t just test the filter face

Its actually advised that the aerosol challenge is introduced ten duct diameters upstream of the filter in order to produce a well mixed challenge. One would think in a bench top laboratory test the design would meet IEST requirements. Very nice set up none the less...

The major poblem is the size of the screen. The letters and signs are to small to tip with your finger. I hoped this will bee fixed with the latest update?
There is a lot more to certifying a filter then just waiving a particle counter around the output of an air cleaner. Most consumer air claim to be true HEPA. I will bet most would fail this test. Even if the filter passed, most air cleaners leak air around the filter. IQair claims to filter down to .003 microns at 95% efficiency. I would like to see IQair filters tested.
