@@thomasl6854 Lol the LT1 must not have been running well. Maybe the valves cleaned or it had bad gas. Normally a 10-speed LT1 or Coyote will walk every manual s550 and s650 minus the dark horse and voodoo engines.

because they come with an insanely high and tight geared 10 speed transmission. 10 speed Mustangs also come with some weak ass 3.15s unlike the manuals which come with 3.55 or 3.73. But the manuals have very long and wide spaced gearing so they need it.

Because the number of gears impacts that greatly. With 10 gears you would probably go thru 6 gears by the time you hit 100 with that ratio lol. It's not the same equation and result as gearing down a manual car

@@SirStewa slightly lighter and also less drag from the wider tires, etc. I swear the cars are mostly neck and neck. The GT is more often than not slightly faster at the top end but as you saw in the video the Camaro can take the win too sometimes

Dark horse has 500 hp. If you get the GT with active exhaust, it's 486hp. Without the active exhaust, it's 480hp.

Base GT has 480, performance pack with exhaust upgrade 486. Dark Horse is 500 hp but they are down on tq.

Plus, try try this against a base V8 camaro LT1, its 120 lbs lighter than a base 1SS, 165+ lbs lighter than 2SS. Ive seen a base A10 LT1 beat a 24' 5.0 with active exhaust 486 hp but heres the thing with the Ford, thay rate that power on 93/94 fuel whereas all the others make their rated power on 91.

I would say I'd take a ss for the price and driving performance because a 2ss cost want you get fir a base 24 gt but if I wanted to make a beast get a 24 gt and put a Whipple on it

In my opinion, if you are going to dig race, use dragstrip mode. Sport feels nice with aggressive shifts, but it doesn't power shift into gear like dragstrip mode does. Still do the same thing with downshifting to the desired gear then switching back to auto. I promise you will 100% feel the difference

Im still running a 2016 SS A8 and yes the newer GT's would get me on the top end. I decided to get rid of DOD as I was getting up there in miles so I went with a BTR 220, MSD intake, Speed 2 inch headers, 103 TB and a tune and E85 setup, they never have a chance to keep up to walk me now. cam in at 527rwhp, lost some low end but gained about 500 rpm of rev range on top end.

That would mean a base LT1 A10 would likely be even or even pull on a base s650. 2SS adds weight and some drag

Stock s650 can run on 87 octane. 91 is recommended for advertised hp and 87 is lowest you can run in it

The Mustang has more than enough of a HP advantage to win on 87. It’s about a 3%power loss on 87 apposed to 93.
