@@hunterjolly5555 generally find them around 20-25ft deep in 30-45ft of water. Live bait, spoons, jigs, or deep diving crankbaits work good. Don't see them very shallow that often. Usually launch at Westcliff and search around Temple Lake Park for them.

@@4MarlerFishing yeah i trolled some crank baits at around 15-20’ off temple lake park once but the bite was already over. I usually do pretty good there. They were busting the top near the dame as well. Nothing like a good hybrid fight after catching lots of whites, they pit up such a great fight in comparison obviously.

@@traviscarrolloutdoors9580 yeah, the sudden ripping of drag is a good indicator of a hybrid. Very fun to catch.

Hopefully the lake levels come down soon. All ramps currently closed from flooding.

He usually does as good or better than me as he works the area first. Perk of being in the front lol. Lake is good for quantity, never really hear about any double digit bass. They stock thousands of hybrid and smallmouth frequently.

With the tornado that struck it’s going to be awhile until the ramps open at least that’s what the army corps is saying on their website really been itching to take the boat out

I live real close to Westcliff. I'll have to just make stops there to check. Fishing that spot has been good lately.

They were breaking the surface from about 4pm to 7pm. They did it early saturday, but had to fish deeper in the evening for them. Hope ramps open again soon.

Big fan of the pearl fluke this time of year. The green pumpkin rage bug works all year texas rig or with a jig. This time of year I'd hit cove points and inward on the less steep rocky banks with sand. If you have good electronics there are some good flats by westcliff and temple lake park tht have yielded some nice largemouth.

There are 2 or 3 videos from around this time last year in there. Shows baits and such. Just look for the ones that say 11 months or 1 year ago.

Yeah, still trying to get a 7+ on this lake. Plenty of bigger ones on Stillhouse nearby.

True, just unexpected.Tend to use heavier with hybrid as they can get fairly big and are hard runners.

@4MarlerFishing I understand but remember wipers are usually around with white bass. Love them both, bet you had a blast!

@@vegetar7886 We sure did. We usually see lots of whitebass feeding on the top late summer. This was the first time we saw such a big group of decent hybrids breaking the surface. Hoping to get back on them soon.

Comes across some schools of nice big ones occasionally. Good crappie fish on that lake from what I've seen. Want to try for them soon.

Very nice. Belton lake doesn't have giants, but tons of variety and numbers. Maybe I'll see you out there sometime.

Yeah, it's Belton. We use Westcliff as it is the closest to me. None have docks atm that I know of. Maybe BLORA, so prepare to get your feet wet launching.

Thanks, appreciate it. Would be cool to fish some sea water for a change. This was just to the right, coming out of Westcliff, near the first cove. There is a beached, abandoned boat that has been there for a while now. We were going back and forth by it.

Morning largemouth/smallmouth top water has been good near it too. Just love the fight of those nice hybrids.

@@4MarlerFishing yeah nothing better than having a blast catching several whites in a row than having a hybrid get on. I can always tell immediately it’s a hybrid because they fight so much harder.

Where is it exactly? I have only been to Belton twice. Launch at Temple lake park and fish south side of the park.

Fun fish to catch. Strong fighters. Love when the big ones run and the drag goes screamin'.

Yeah. We found a few more in the area in about 25ft of water. Havent pinpointed any big groups like this that were stationary in the last 2 outings.

Best time of year is now to do it with them feeding on top. Early mornings and evenings can net a quick limit.
