Control DMX Lighting from Unreal Engine in under 10 Minutes
This is a quick guide on how to setup an Unreal Engine (5.3) project to control external DMX fixtures. I couldn't find a tutorial specifically for this use-case so hopefully this is helpful to others. Thanks for watching!

You should definitely make some tutorials. I got VR physics hands working on my project but after hours of trying I still can’t grab any objects unless the hand collision is off
Hey i have around 140 DMX lights and in some how 50 of them became undefined in UE5.3 when i restart my project.. and go into the DMX patch tool it says undefined. It's so annoying do you experienced this? it's for a pretty large project tho. :)
Hi I have problem to connect UE with the dmx controller so the light won't light up. But the light simulation is working just fine, I am not sure what's the problem
Hello, thanks for watching. First thing I would check is if the DMX channel monitor shows activity on the output from unreal engine. I use this in the video around 7:07. This will confirm that your scene is actually transmitting some DMX data out from the engine.
Great help, thanks . I was wondering if you could make a tutorial with the same concept but using MagicQ chamsys software to control the lighting.
Thanks for watching and great suggestion! I have not tried that yet, but I have seen some other tutorials do that with the chamsys software. I will post a video if I get around to trying that out. Thanks again!
How did you do that. That looks cool.
Wow
nice job man 👍
Thanks!
Hi nice
Hey, thanks!
Nope. I feel ya.
Why is bro using blueprints instead of c++ 😅
I want to know why he's using a 10 year old ebay office PC to do game development.
@@simond7564 thats not really what I use 😉
I’m a newb, just getting started in unreal
TFW you spend all night on something just to read that you did it in the least efficient way possible 😐
wow so cool!
